Bare Bliss Box Review February 2015 (updated)

***UPDATE: It has been bright to my attention (thanks PA Anna!) that I should note that I subscribed to this box using a deal from Gilt, and that my boxes might be different from other subscribers. Kinda crappy but I’ll keep reviewing them but will note that I’m Gilt***

I have to be honest, I was totally shocked when I looked in my mailbox and found this lone box staring back at me. Not just because there were no bills keeping it company, but because I could not remember actually buying this box.

Tipsy online shopping is my hobby!

Bare Bliss Box is all about organic, vegan, and non-toxic beauty. Depending on the length of your subscription a box can range from about $20 to $13. In my regular fashion I went for the 6 month subscription.

Now on to the products that hopefully don’t contain ingredients that will usher me to an early grave before I can become old enough to hit some young whippersnapper with my bad ass cane!

Box Intimate Wipes
Box Intimate Wipes

You know I giggled at this like a 7th grader! The name of this company is pure genius and they admit that they have a “cheeky perspective.” They go on and on about how natural and pH balanced they are but it was tough to retain the info because I couldn’t get over what it must have been Iike for these women to get investors for their company. Did their moms need to have the name explained to them? All this aside, there were two packets included and the scents were Rosewater and Lavender.

Lets value these at $2 (Great stocking stuffer when you want to come off sorta creepy)

S.W Basics Of Brooklyn
S.W Basics Of Brooklyn

Hot diggity a full size product! The lip balm came in Vegan Cocoa flavor. I sorta see myself pulling this out in line at a coffee shop and saying to someone who didn’t ask, “Oh this? It’s just my VEGAN cocoa lip balm. Ya know, the type not made out of little baby whales.” Then turning my back on them while making an expression that conveys that I think there obviously baby whale killers.

Retail Value: $4

My Value: $4 (Annoying people is almost priceless and this stuff has the added benefit of being pretty good!)

Palmetto Derma Eye Cream
Palmetto Derma Eye Cream

Palmetto Derma Retinol and Peptide Infused Lifting Eye Cream. The name of this product is bigger than the sample they gave me. I slopped it on my “delicate skin around the eyes,” because it told me to. It feels nice and has no real scent. I’m not sure if I can feel the “ocean based retinol.” Probably because I’m not sure what that even means.

My value: ??? (It’ll be worth it’s weight in gold if it helps me perfect that “sexy” wink move that eludes me)

Adorn Nail Polish
Adorn Nail Polish

Well lookie here another full size product! Adorn Nails Nail Polish in “Ashes to Ashes.” The name is super spooky right?!? It makes me want to write a short story about haunted nail polish. This polish is free of all sorts of bad ingredients, evil sounding ones I should probably look up in order to avoid in the future. Unless they come in french fries. All bets off then.

Value: $11

My Value: $11 (I dig this color and spooky name)

Pure By She She
Pure By She She

Pure By She She Cream Body Wash. 100% natural and organic ingredients along with 100% plant based cleansing agents make me 100% worried about what I’ve been using to get clean my whole life. The scent is a light orange and tomorrow after I use it I will go out in public and see if any one comments on my superior cleanliness.

My Value: $3 (I’m pretty sure if I got trapped in my bathroom this would be the first product I would be able to safely eat)

Overall I’m happy with this box and selection of products. Though like most things in this world, has left me with more questions than answers.

Awww thanks! I seriously thought this box was interesting. I had no idea products could be free of so many things!

I’m so amused at all the vegan beauty products – as if most beauty products contained animal products! Soon we’ll get gluten-free lotion.
