Walmart Beauty Box – Spring 2015

Walmart Beauty Box sends samples of everyday products brought right to your door. I was surprised to get mine because I did not update my credit card info on the site. I guess sometimes we don’t find the boxes, the boxes find us.

Walmart Beauty Box is $5 and it is supposed to come seasonally (winter, spring, summer, and fall) but in reality it shows up when it feels like it. The good is that it is a low investment box, you can easily buy the products that you like, and it is fun to get something in the mail. The cons are that this box sends many different samples out so you may get box envy, the products are not fancy, and the value of it is low. I continue to get it because they continue to send it.

The box!
The box!

There is no mistaking the box on the outside. Oh yes, Walmart Beauty it is!

I did find it sort of funny that the side design are all smears of different products. It just looks sort of sloppy to me. It does remind me of the beauty section at their store however!

I was pretty underwhelmed with the products I received and it could be that I just get too many boxes. Dove body wash and Neutrogena Facial Cleanser were both brands and products I got last time. The Hard Candy lip stain was also almost the same shade as the lipstick they sent me last time. They must think I always want my lips to look like “Sand.” Maybe it is because of my ocean like breath? I will do my best to remedy that…

While shampoo and conditioner are honestly the last thing I need, I can see how these could be good for travel. I received Essence Ultime that was developed with Claudia Schiffer. Fancy! Can you imagine how that went down? “No, I don’t feel this is the Ultime!” she yelled to a scientist that wasn’t listening. It also claims to be “fast drying.” Promises, promises. It does say it is not only for “damaged” hair but also “depleted” hair. Walmart hair? Just kidding, my hair!

The perfume sample of Lady Gaga “Black Fluid” was unexpected. I mean, I knew I could get a scent sample, I just didn’t know that marketing could go so far as to try to sell this to me. Black Fluid to me is Garbage Water. The stuff is black liquid in the bottle but once you spray it into the air it becomes colorless. It claims to be an “innovation in fluid technology.” In real life it is a useless gimmick to get those goth or whatever they call themselves these days kids to buy the product.

It also smells a ton like Brittney Spears Curious or some other scent she puts out. Don’t ask me how I know that because I am not telling. I am however, reeking of this scent because I did not judge the wind properly and my super smart idea to test this outside has become a lesson learned. Ah it IS “black like the soul of fame…”

The box also came with a couple foil samples and a ton of coupons. I guess they thought the box would trigger a lust for more products.

Final VerdictWorth the $5 if only for the novelty. I did get a good belly laugh from some of the items. Great box if you are new to them or are looking for these types of samples.

You received the young person box! I won’t even discussed the one I received which they thought I liked so much that they sent me a second box which might arrived tomorrow. This is after I cancelled my account. The Fall box was decent, the winter was OK, but the spring box…I didn’t like it the first time. I doubt I will like it the second time. I wonder when they figure out there was a glitch that sent out second boxes to a bunch of customers.

I’m surprised I got the young box being in my dirty 30s but from looking round at other reviews I can see that the older boxes sometimes have less deluxe sample items. Which blows my mind because younger people have less money to buy stuff. Now I want to know what you got! 😉 I hope your second box is different!

I’ll post it once my box is done visiting every town in Pennsylvania. I think it will be done with its travels the middle of next week.

Funny, I get the old folk box as well and I just got my second on today. I wasn’t charged for it so of course I don’t mind!

Glad I did not go for this box. That really looks like fingerpainting on the outside of that box.

Here is the list for the second old person box aka Classic Wave 2. This box shipped after I canceled my account. I think the second box is better than the first. I received Loreal Total Repair 5 restoring shampoo & conditioner, Caress Adore Forever Body Wash, and Palmer Cocoa Butter in travel size. Burt’s Bees Renewal intensive firming serum and Palmer Cocoa Formula Skin Therapy Oil in foil size. i also received Lady gaga Fame Black Fluid. $1.00 coupon for Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Eventone suncare and a coupon for a free dry spray antiperspirant (dove, degree, or axe).

I like your box! I remember spray antiperspirants were really popular in Europe, but the thing is they only lasted a few hours and then you had to put it on again. Imagine being talked down too by a smelly Brit being told “Americans are disgusting” for using stick antiperspirants because “they touch your underarm over and over.” The whole time you will think “yeah, but they work dude… they work.” Wonder how the new versions are!
