Bare Bliss Box – May 2015 Review

Bare Bliss Box is a subscription that sends out organic and natural beauty products. I signed up for this box through a Groupon deal and you can check out my older reviews to see how that went. I am not trying to give this box a more fair go of it because I finally looked up what “magnanimous” means.

There are options to get this in the one month, three month, and six month packs. The cheapest cost being the six month pack at $13 a month with free shipping. So, not too much out of your pocket if you are digging on this type of beauty.

Yay my box came! I was getting a little worried.

Bio Republic Sheet Mask
Bio Republic Sheet Mask

Bio Republic Sheet Mask: I have been really wanting to try this type of mask out! Like most of the masks like this  I have come across, it is made in Korea. I can’t wait until these types of masks hit the mainstream and you can pick them up at 7 Eleven along with that egg salad sandwich you will eat guiltily in your car. Does it count as cooking if you add flamin’ hot cheetos to the sandwhich? Yes dear friend, yes it does.

I received the Pomegranate Crush version that on the back says 100% cruelty free… tell that to the pomegranates!

Ellovi - Tinted Lip Butter
Ellovi – Tinted Lip Butter

Ellovi – Tinted Lip Butter: I feel like lip butters must come from some magical unicow with technicolor utters. They say to get this “perfect hint of red” they used a Mediterranean flower called  Alkanert. Did they have the unicow eat that or am I just way off? I like that Ellovi only uses six ingredients. It makes me feel like they have faith in nature.

If you had a dayglow technicolor unicow what would you name it? I would call mine “Sherbert.”

Goodness Garden Organics - Sunny Body Natural Sunscreen
Goodness Garden Organics – Sunny Body Natural Sunscreen

Goodness Garden Organics – Sunny Body Natural Sunscreen: The super white bread family on the bottle tells me that this may indeed protect my skin. They do look a wee too happy to put on sunscreen. Even though I am an “adult” (this is a point of contention with my family who think I am immature) I still hate putting on sunscreen. It’s just so chemically feeling. I am excited to give this a try and I hope being natural it does not make my skin feel like i poured melted plastic on it.

When applying this I can comment to people next to me that “I wouldn’t DREAM of putting on sunscreen that wasn’t REEF safe!” It won’t matter that I am at the pool.

Alaffia - Neem & Shea Butter Skin Recovery Face Cream
Alaffia – Neem & Shea Butter Skin Recovery Face Cream

Alaffia – Neem & Shea Butter Skin Recovery Face Cream:  I was sort of hoping these packets were filled with BBQ sauce. Don’t ask me why, because I will be sure to bore you with my love for sauces. Usually smaller packet samples bum me out something fierce, however, these are pretty large and having two packets means I will have enough to give it an honest try.

Since 2006 this company has distributed 6,300 bikes to student, delivered school supplies to 11,700 school children, and planted 42,625 trees among other good works. Way to make me look bad Alaffia…

Rock Island Sponge Company - Sea Sponge
Rock Island Sponge Company – Sea Sponge

Rock Island Sponge Company – Sea Sponge: This sponge is for the face and it is supposed to work with your face wash to exfoliate you mug. That’s cool for those face washing types who use soap. I keep my face kinda dirty so that I retain my authenticity. “Rock Island” as a company name makes me almost afraid to try this on my face…I was brave and it is soft and perfect for you angels with clean faces!

When I put this next to my LLB body sponge it looks like a mother and baby!

Verdict: I am very excited about the mask and I can always find a use for a lip item. The little sponge is sort of useless to me but I promise to at least try it. I feel Bare Bliss box does a great job of sourcing samples from different companies and they do stay true to keeping things on the healthy side. I just wanted to see something a little more substantial. At the 6 month price I think it is fair.

Thank you so much for reading it! I love how Hawaiian Tropic smells so I am going to give it a try. I wear contacts and it is beyond horrible to get stinging eyes while trying to sip my poolside margarita! 😉 Thanks again!!!

This post made the English Shepherd cock one ear. I enjoyed reading it! I read that the 2 sponges differ in size and loved how you described it as mother and baby. I received the same sunscreen in the EWG suncare box. I used My Beauty Diary masks in the past and may give this brand a try. I can’t think of anything witty to write. It’s a 6 year old world during the day.

Hahah I enjoy the imagery of the doggie! I bet it is fun to brush her fur. I would get her all brushed and show her off in town. “WE know WE look good!” Then Id pat her! I bought some masks from amazon, if they are good I will share a review. Mask Genie might take too long for me. I did see that they will include masks that make you look like an animal face. SO COOL!

lol, BBQ sauce, love it! Actually if you love masks you should love that sponge, they work really well to get masks off your face without having to figure out what to do with a really messy washcloth. Been loving my LLB sponge for that, smaller would work better.

I am totally going to use it for masks! Then I can clean it and let it dry. Wash cloths get so nasty. Like, once I have used it I am unlikely to use it again without a wash so at least this will save me some of the trouble!

Thank you for the mask! I will use it tomorrow night. Sorry I haven’t been commenting much. I feel sad. We had to put down one of our country kitties 🙁 My older son is sick so I had to cancel our college visit scheduled later for this week. I’ll be more sociable tomorrow.

I feel sad about the kitty. It happened last week and was unexpected 🙁 I had to take my 6 year old with me to the vet and kept reassuring him that she will be OK. Sigh 🙁

It’s easy to comment mindlessly on other blogs. I have to think on this blog 🙂

Thank You, The items that you and Shana sent me helps. I appreciate the thoughtfulness and been covering myself in lavender everyday. It’s the first time I had to explain all of this to my 6 year old. I feel so bad. The vet thought she would pull through.

You could write that Wantable review 🙂 My English Shepherd is still on vacation in the suburbs and will be listening to me laugh. She’ll be heading back to the farm in a few days and then the Borader (Half Lab and Half Border Collie) will be here. He’s dopey. That is the dog that my neighbor in the suburbs gave to me. He’s a great, loveable dog.

Ok I will work on the review! It’s sooo bad though

I don’t remember the death talk. I do remember my hamster dying and my dad told me to take a few days off of school. He also told me that people would not understand my sadness over it. He was right. A yard teacher told me that she hoped I buried my hamster deep cuz a dog could dig it up.

My dad had a talk with the school for sure.

Your son children are lucky to have you to talk with

What a horrible thing for a teacher to say to a child. Thank You. I try to do my best.

Well she was a yard teacher so at least she wasn’t with kids all day. She is the same lady who told me not to squint or I will look old. It made me super paranoid. Man that chick kinda messed me up!
