Petbox Review – May 2015

++Check out my other Petbox Reviews!++

Petbox is a subscription that caters to the more furry love of your life. Not the one who wanders from room to room wondering loudly about the status of clean socks but the one who wanders room to room wondering loudly about food. I honestly have trouble telling the difference sometimes…

Petbox has a lot of different subscription options, however mine is from the from Groupon. They do offer deals on different sites so be on the look for them if you are not sold on the box 100%.

Petbox!
Petbox!

This says, “Yeah I love my pet and it is a love that is deep as it is vast.” It sure took a beating with all the rain!

From The Field – Catnip: Does your cat like to get super messed up on nip? Did you find some underneath its kitty bed and they told you that they are “just holding it for a friend?” Do you know your cat is going to do catnip and so decided that you will allow it underneath your roof so you can make sure they are not going out around town doing it? If any of these apply to you then get your cat some good stuff and go with a USA brand that grows their nip natural!

Maybe you stick a baggy of this in the desk of someone you dislike, maybe you tell management your concerns about that persons “erratic behavior.”

Royal Canin - Cat Food
Royal Canin – Cat Food

Royal Canin – Cat Food: I have been sent this in every Petbox I have been sent save for one. So I own 4 of these packets. Next week I will gather them up and donate them because my kitty is happy with Blue Buffalo cat food and I don’t like to change a horse midstream. Anyway I wrote something humorous the first time I got this so check out some of my older Petbox reviews to read it or I will cry.

I can go to that pet food drive and make it rain!

Flock o' Fun - Catnip Bird Toys
Flock o’ Fun – Catnip Bird Toys

Flock o’ Fun – Catnip Bird Toys: What a cute little red bird! I am happy that they included a whole thing of nip so that I can fill this little guy right up and send my cat on a safari of fun! Hopefully this toy won’t further my cats obsession with catching the crow that likes to tease her by kicking it outside just within reach. I tried to tell her that “eating crow” in our culture isn’t a good thing, but like all cats she did not listen.

It’s little catnip pocket can also be used to hide your precious diamonds!

Wellness - Kittles

Wellness - Kittles EXPIRED
Wellness – Kittles EXPIRED

Wellness – KittlesI nearly lost my shit getting this. For one thing I had received it in a box before in the same flavor. Second, it is expired. It doesn’t seem like a huge deal to a lot of people but to me it is unbelievable to not only have half a box of duplicates but one that could be harmful to my fur baby.

Finally my loved ones KNOW what I’m angrily talking about under my breath as I pace the room.

Spot - Fluttering Butterfly Mini Teaser Wand
Spot – Fluttering Butterfly Mini Teaser Wand

Spot – Fluttering Butterfly Mini Teaser Wand:  My cat loves to these kind of toys! Even if it sounds like something you would pick up at an Adult Store.  My worry is the small stick because she can get pretty crazy and I don’t want her tearing up my hands. I use these hands for typing people! This is the type of toy you wanna put some electronic music on, dress in neon, and just party with your cat!

Finally I can do a shot for shot remake of that Lunesta commercial I have been dreaming of making!

VerdictI emailed Petbox about my issues which included:

-Them sending my Petbox to an incorrect address and me having to pay $5.75 to pick it up from the post office.

-The repeats of the cat food in basically every box

-The repeat of the treats

-The expired treats

After writing them about my concerns they gave me 200 extra points which gets me two bags of treats my cat likes. While nice, it isn’t enough for me to keep this box. I have one more coming, but after that I am done. I started out really loving Petbox and I was going to sign up for the yearly. I love to treat my cat, and honestly it’s nice to have a box to review that does not have make up in it. Anyway, while it was nice that they gave me 200 points, it was a bit too little too late. Maybe service is better if you did not get a discount? I dunno, we will see how the next box does but it is doubtful I keep this sub.

Petbox, How do I hate thee? Your box is still a zillion times better than my one and only box I received from them. I can’t believe they sent expired food. I love the cat picture and catnip comments. I can’t even grow catnip because my cats decimate the plants. I tried growing it both indoor and outdoor.

Why did you have to pay $5.75 for the box? Is it part of the goat conspiracy? Poor Kitty.

I grew nip indoors with a whole set up. It was a lot of effort for very little reward haha yeah honestly I think the goats did it. I changed my addy like ages ago and a month before this box shipped but they still sent it to the old one. They usps held it but I had to pay to get it. Realllllly annoying…

Check out Purr-Packs, I did three months of them and was very happy with them. They have a wide variety of box sizes. I just quit for a bit because the house was overrun with toys. Love the review! I HATE when I have to pay USPS for a box, have had several that just did not put on enough postage…. My kitties love those teaser wands too. ROTFL on the Lunesta commercial.

and oh yeah, one of my kitties is on Royal Canin RB – rabbits and peas – spendy food! But boy not having to replace the carpet repeatedly and not having to give my kitty baths daily pretty much makes it worthwhile. I just don’t get sending food every time, cats tend to be pretty picky.

lol, I just thought about this when I was told my own angel had a little mishap…

    You’re fun, I like you. 😀

Also PetBox is pretty terrible when it comes to the cat side of things, they truly don’t care one way or the other about sourcing decent products from brands you recognize, being original or you know, sending different products that actually have decent dates. When I had them (I only had the snack box) it was VERY overpriced for treats my cats wouldn’t touch. :/

I was all too happy to cancel. Truly, these guys are hyped up too much when they really let the cat side of their business go all to hell. Dogs seem ok though.

Aww shucks! You know I have been reading your blog for awhile now. That is how I found out about K Beauty! I have you bookmarked and check everyday and got so excited when I read your cat review.

I am pretty miffed about how Petbox handled the situation. I had to pretty much wrangle the 200 points and while nice that they did give it, they didn’t seem all that sorry about it. I bought a groupon so that could be it. I bought the groupon with the full intent of buying it after the groupon was done though. So they lost a customer for sure. My cat has only liked the smart treats they sent. I have had 5 boxes, and only 1 treat go over well!

I liked that they were in San Diego like me, but cats are important pets too and deserve some respect!

Thanks for checking out my little blog! 🙂
