There is confusion over whether this is a July or August box. I am going to stick with July because my home decor information card says July. I have yet to receive an information card for the spa box.

Burke Decor is an online boutique company that has ventured into the subscription world. It offers a couple features that differentiates itself from other subscriptions. There are four different type of subscriptions available: 1. The Whole Home Box 2. Cool and Fresh Spa Box 3. Warm and Earthy Spa Box 4. Floral and Fruit Spa Box. For new readers – we try to be funny, light-hearted, and whimsical. Subscriptionista and I want you to leave unburdened and with a smile on your face.
First look at the official July Burke Decor Cool + Fresh Spa Box. Burke Decor has listened to my pleas of following their description of “cucumber, mint, eucalyptus, tea tree and more” and sent me an item that has mint in it. It’s a start.
Maybe if I order “warm and earthly” I will finally receive a cucumber product. After all cucumber is from the warm soil of the earth.
Nest Fragrances Moss & Mint Hand Lotion: My little guy is still feeling under the weather. I’m also procrastinating on my Linen Crate review because I can’t make it sound funny. Enjoy the beautiful pictures. The Moss & Mint scent is a light scent tinged with mint and the outdoors. I love the scent. The lotion is made in the USA.
Voluspa Mokara Room & Body Mist: I linked directly to the manufacturer’s website because I want you to see that the manufacturer feels that the fragrance belongs in the floral family. I ordered the Cool and Refresh Box, not the Floral and Fruit Spa Box. I will send Burke Decor another email about this. Their response in the past is that scents can fit in more than one category. I don’t want floral scents. I sprayed this to test out the scent for my post, and it bothers my allergies. It smells like an expensive perfume that makes me sneeze causing the woman wearing it to give me a dirty look.
This is made with no phthalates, no parabens, no sulfates and no animal testing. The scent is a blend of Mokara Orchid, White Lily, and Spring Moss. I looked at the other scents and most of them I can tolerate. They have lavender. The room & body spray is made in the USA
This is the perfect spray to keep in your purse when you need to use a porta potty.
Fig + Yarrow Hand + Body Wash Juniper + Sage: I love Fig + Yarrow products. Fig + Yarrow describes this as “woodsy”. Burke Decor offers a Warm + Earthy Spa Box. I can smell the Juniper and Sage when I tried it out. I love the scent and will be using this as a body wash tomorrow. The body wash is handcrafted in CO, USA.
Now I can wash my hands while I shower!
Verdict: I am emailing Burke Decor about my dissatisfaction of the inclusion of a floral product. Burke Decor has a wonderful idea of customizing spa boxes based on scents. The brands are what I expect to be in this type of box. The curation is lacking. I do not see a cool and refreshing, cucumber and mint type of box when I look at my boxes. This month is my fourth month. I’ve spent $180.00 and still haven’t received what I feel is a cool and refreshing box. Burke Decor is aware that last month I was leaning towards cancellation. This time I am cancelling and may resubscribe later if the boxes improve in curation.
Are my cats working for the coaster conglomerate?

Well if I do add on based on your reviews I would do the fruit/floral but would prefer the cool/fresh but like you noted the scents miss the mark. I love ocean scents the most…

I recognize your writing style and posted on another site if you would reveal what was in this month’s cool and fresh box and then I found this review. I like the items but I am not overwhelmed by this sub. I really like your positive comments on other blogs and look forward to having you review additional boxes. I will be getting the fruity and floral box too and will try to post somewhere what came in that box.

I like this review a lot because your pictures are awesome. It makes the products look so fancy and now I want them all. Even the perfume woman spray! Imagine!

They are all great products. I want my cool and refreshing scents 🙂 I love taking pictures.
I like fruit and fresh type scents usually. I also huff cat. They usually smell very good and I don’t care how crazy it makes me look.
I don’t enjoy the picture taking as much as the writing. It is what holds me back from posting more usually. I just hate to lumber over, get everything out, take pics, upload them (often cropping so they fit), then writing and adding them to the post which means adding the info on them as well.
Actually, I think you are right on the money with this review. I am a bit disappointed too. Although these are great brands, the mark-up on items like these are huge so I was expecting a bigger bang for my buck and have cancelled both boxes. I will say the floral and fruity was a bit more on point. I got the same exact items (lotion conspiracy again), but the hand lotion was in tangerine, the room mist in goji and orange, and the hand soap in lemongrass geranium. A little more on the fruity that the floral this go around. Will keep the Burke home décor box for now, but have dropped the spa boxes. How many hand lotions does one woman need after all?
For the Nest Lotion: I wonder if birds in the French Rivera use this?

You should have wrote the review!!! I was so upset about my box. I’ve complained about the lack of cool and fresh items every month. I even told them after the last box I may cancel if this box doesn’t have cucumber or mint in it. I sprayed the room spray which bothered me so much that I had to take allergy meds. Isn’t that the whole point of having different scent boxes? Can you tell I am unhappy!!!
I’m working on Linen Crate. I like the box, but it is hard to make bathroom items interesting.
Just do what you can. Not every review has to be the same. I mean you can see in our media files how many boxes I got but did not review. I think sometimes it is just best to write and let it shape itself. Sometimes boxes don’t want to be funny, they want to be something else!
For a disappointing box you still gave it an honest review. I would love this box if the cool/fresh scents were what they describe. I don’t care for many floral scents because of allergies so the fruit/floral probably wouldn’t work for me and I also don’t care for very “earthy” scents. The brands and overall items seem like they are excellent quality; the curation is just a bit off.
I think that your cats are more likely to be plotting with the Goat Syndicate than the Coaster Syndicate. I think that cats would be anti-coaster due to the increased difficulty of knocking things off the table.
