Emma – a farm cat

Meet Emma. She showed up crying during a bad winter storm. She has been part of the farm cat family ever since. We did checked the shelters, vets, and neighbors to see if she was lost.

      I like lotsa stuff…
But I’m feeling overwhelmed with beauty. I have cancelled the following:

Love & Food (not worth buying the box and reviewing it as reviewing it would take a lot of time to do right)

Beautyfix (I’m seriously sad but it’s just lost the great value it had before!)

Bare bliss (they didn’t even send me my July box)

      What is looking shaky:
      Boxycharm

I’m going to keep looking over stuff I need to cut its just tough for me because I want it all. This is going to be a big decider month for me on a lot of subs!

      • August 3, 2015 at 2:27 pm

I’m open to a lot of things. There are lots of sub boxes out there. I am trying out Be My Guess – a Disney based box. I am debating whether to try Monthly Express for a month because it is on Gilt.

I am hoping that people have a favorite that they want to share.

I can’t seem to find it on gilt!

Be My Guest looks like a great box for Disney fans. Not a huge fan but if I was would likely sub to that if I was very smart of them to get into the sub box niche.
There is an egg/blind surprise sub box that I was very interested in my oldest wee one would love it but the I really should limit the chokable items to whatever is already in the house for the wee-est ones.
Allure and Beautyfix spoilers are out and I am not biting this month.
Maybe Popsugar and the LE Kloverbox we will see when spoiler(s) are posted.
One of you ladies needs to get Zoe perhaps split the costs since you like different items in her boxes!

          • August 3, 2015 at 3:03 pm

That’s a good idea about splitting costs on an expensive box. I’m subscribed to Zoe’s fall box. It’s my first one. I saw the egg/blind surprise and thought about subscribing to it. I may subscribe to the PopSugar August box. The theme looks promising.

I’m never going to make it to Disney. I am going to give it a try to see what I am missing.

Sub Bella did you read up on the reviews on the Disney box? Just checking because for me I would be disappointed unless I was a die-hard Disney fan…. Especially the first box it has collectible pins.
Wish there was a code for the egg sub I am teetering… My wee one keeps asking for a kinder egg if she watches YouTube kids. I told her we gave to go to Europe for them. She wants to go to Europe lol.

I didn’t find any reviews on BeOurGuest. Where did you see it? It sounded interesting…

I can’t find them but I did see the first box and a recent box. I thought it was 2 little rosebuds but I don’t see it and I am sure it was not Ramblings but there are 2 different box reviews online somewhere.

My favorite new box is Luxor box. Pricey but lovely items. Frenchbox has also made some changes and I would like to see someone review them starting with the August box as it seems some of the change will be effective then.. Dia&Co is a size 10 and up subscription service like stitch fit, but since I doubt either of you are plus size, it might not be feasible fro you two to review it. Just found this blog and love your sense of humor.

Jerilynn, thank you for commenting. One of us is a size small and it is not me 🙁 I had a difficult health year last year. This year I am stress eating for various reasons which is bad! I also have an outpatient surgery and a major dental surgery that I’ve been postponing because of my husband’s work schedule. I’m falling apart in my 40s 🙁 I’ll look into your suggestions.

Please make it a priority to review boxes NOT reviewed by MSA and, preferably, not by the other major blogs. I’m sure there are lots of cool boxes out there that don’t get reviewed because they don’t pay “sponsor” fees (I appreciate that Hello Subscription, at least, is pretty transparent about how the review process is for them: http://hellosubscription.com/how-to-start-and-market-a-subscription-box/). Plus boxes that spend less on referrals have more money to put into products.

I took a look at the boxes listed on Cratejoy (which itself will start charging referral fees soon), and these are the ones that interest me:

    The Happy Crate
    Box of Blessings
Style Quarterly (do you already do that?)
Mystical Mojo (but you have to try the products and write about the experience)
Starlooks (as an alternative to Ipsy)
The lovebird crate (again, must try it and report on the results)
    Sperobox
Aromatic Blackbox (I just don’t get the concept)
    All Things Needed
    Try the world

I don’t have any of those! Thanks for the tips!

Great suggestions. Subscriptionista is checking them out.Try the World has too many complaints by subscribers.

Try the World is a nightmare to deal with. Skip them. Fun food, but not worth it – canceling is hard.

I forgot to mention Style Quarterly is defunct. She is doing something different.
