Beauty DNA Review – August 2015

Disclosure: Subscriptionista bought a voucher for Beauty DNA. She with no allergies made an executive decision that she with allergies would benefit more from Beauty DNA. There are no affiliate links.

Beauty DNA was one of the first subscription boxes that I tried in the late spring of 2014.  I moved on to trying other beauty subscriptions, but Beauty DNA holds a special spot in my subscription box heart. I’m happy to try them again. There is a comprehensive survey that you fill out that helps them curate your selection.

Subscription: Beauty DNA

Cost: $25.00/month

What to Expect: A curated beauty product based on your profile. Sometimes a bonus product is included.

Note: Skincare tends to have the highest value. Not all months have a high value.

The Report

A report is enclosed explaining why the product is selected for you.

Instructions, pricing, and where to buy is included in the report. Our blog stays away from price emphasis. I did leave the price up because sometimes people find the price fluctuates on the web. Amazon tends to sell the items at a lower price. However, you need to do the research to find out if the seller is trustworthy.

I zoomed in on the letter. The bolded words are ingredients that I want or don’t want in my beauty products.

An Extra
An Extra

It seems that the subscribers receiving skincare in August received a bonus item. I am basing this on comments I read on the internet. I received the Keratherapy Rapid Rescue Spray. It’s used to instantly transform your hair. It says it is not for sale in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Anyone know why?

I’m going to send this to Subscriptonista so she can continue to dazzle us with her gorgeous blonde hair.

Bramble Kitty
Bramble Kitty

The cats love J. He is generous with cat treats. Bramble is going back to the farm in a few days to be with my sister who misses him. He follows her everywhere like a dog. He is also afraid of the camera.

Verdict: Thank you, Subscriptionista, for allowing me to use your Beauty DNA voucher. I will be trying the moisturizer within the next few weeks. I can’t wait to see what will be in the September box.

Nice! Subista is awesome plus she has no business trying creams over $100 😉

Ha! The Pnut gallery strikes again. 🙂 You know her well…

Not that expensive always = better but it’s awesome that you got such a high value item! I’m not sure if I should hope you like it or hope you don’t!

Thanks! I sent you a PM about your empties. I can access the doggie pictures, but not the empty pictures!

Oh, I had it backwards and resent the doggie ones but now I just re-sent the empties too!

She should share what came in her first box.

        Me?
Hmmm… If not me I will answer anyway…
First item was the informercial day/night with spf that made he MSA villagers restless. I put it in my massive sunscreen stash and wondered why I would need sunscreen at night.
Second item was a no-name serum that was priced over $100 but did not have good online reviews. Someone on MSA said hers smelled funny or something not right with it. Went to my serum stash which is not massive.
Third item was Epicuran Face SPF that had good reviews but marked down at Amazon.
Have not received my fourth item.

I am now deciding that life is too short for white casting sunscreen that makes my skin feel dry and mime(y). I am going to toss those out once I figure out the offenders.

Nice product, please let us know how it works. Subista is the best. I love Bramble kitty, so cute. My cat hides all day in this heat.
