Birchbox Review – September 2015

Birchbox cost’s $10 a month but if you review your items then you get a credit of 10 points for each one which is $1 to use in the store. Points can only be spent in increments of $10. Which take no time to get. They have the best point system out of any box I have tried!

Birchbox is the “Gateway” box that will lead you down a road I have yet to make my way back from. Perhaps  in that forest of boxes you and I will meet and discuss bronzer while spraying various products all over our hair. The murmurs around us will lead us to our next “Holy Grail” beauty item…

There is an option where you can add on full size surprise items for $20 more. I am personally more into the samples sizes and so I doubt I will ever take the plunge. Still it is good to know what options are out there!

Yes, Birchbox… I am beautiful!

Montale Intense Cafe
Montale Intense Cafe

Montale Intense Cafe: I was not allowed to open this in the house after the initial opening because it smells like perfume and BO. You almost have to smell it to really believe me on this. Sub Bella, if I package it really well do you want me to send this to you? It is like one of those things where you go “eww this tastes terrible here have a bite!”

Put this on a sweater and your sister won’t ever try to borrow it again!

POP Beauty - POP Portfolio Eyeshadow (Sugar Plum)
POP Beauty – POP Portfolio Eyeshadow (Sugar Plum)

POP Beauty – POP Portfolio Eyeshadow (Sugar Plum): I love to wear purple eyeshadow. It makes the green come out in my hazel eyes. I get into fights with people who have blue eyes who call my eyes brown because it is untrue and I will fight them to the death! I have no opened these yet because I need to clean and organize my stuff but the colors are very pretty!

I was surprised that there was no sugar used in this shadow!

Rene Furterer - Absolue Keratine
Rene Furterer – Absolue Keratine

Rene Furterer – Absolue Keratine: I wrote a little about this brand in my last review that you can check out here,. This seemed really close to what we got but the bottle is in a different color. I am happy to have more fancy stuff but sort of feel like I could try out another brand this month and revisit this brand in a few months.

If this ends up working it will be an expensive habit!

Tocca - Esfoliante da Corpo (Giuletta)
Tocca – Esfoliante da Corpo (Giuletta)

Tocca – Esfoliante da Corpo (Giuletta): I like this brand because it usually has good quality at a good price. This scrub is very nice! I like the fresh bright smell and the sugar is nice to scrub with. I imagine I am a honey ham who is caramelizing myself. Very sexy right? It does mousurize but not as much as some of the bigger jars we have been getting from organic brands. This is great for when you wanna get a scrub but you don’t want to get too much oil.

On the bottle they tell me to “love myself” but they don’t tell me to be “in love with myself”

Trestique - Correct & Cover Concealer Crayon (Bisque)

Trestique - Correct & Cover Concealer Crayon (Bisque) Swatch on my super white wrist
Trestique – Correct & Cover Concealer Crayon (Bisque) Swatch on my super white wrist

Trestique – Correct & Cover Concealer Crayon (Bisque): I am quickly becoming a big fan of this brand! I have tried and eye shadow and it is perfect for giving me a sultry nighttime look for sitting around watching trash TV and complaining while sloshing wine around. This concealer works really well for me. It does not dry out too much which a LOT of others I have tried do. I like that you can pop this somewhere like your purse and easily touch up. I am fighting a break out all over my nose, and so this has been in use. It does a great job and is easy to blend/mix!

I wish I could use this to conceal my embarrassing moments!

Verdict: I think this box was a good value. I hate getting perfume but it can’t be helped. I got a variety of products from make up to skin care, to hair care. So I think they did a great job touching all basis. The value is there for me because I LOVE small sizes and you get $1 back in credit for each review you do. I am happy!

Are you?

Rene Furterer is definitely an expensive and addictive habit. Both the person who cuts and colors my hair recommended various products from the line which are now my staples. The salon I go to has the same size samples as the Birchbox ones for free in a big bowl, and I am not embarrassed to admit that I will dump almost all the contents of that bowl into my purse.

I never commented! I enjoyed reading your review. Go ahead and send me the perfume. Do you want my English Laundry? I’m curious about the perfume. Your items are so different from mine. I’m glad you got a good box.
