FabFitFun Review – Fall 2015

Disclaimer: I bought this with money. There is are referral links in this post.

BOX: FabFitFun (FFF) is a quarterly subscription that does deliver on a quarterly basis. Boxes are $49.99 but if you are like Pnut you can find a $10 code. Sometimes, you may find a $20 code. Once in awhile, you can find a free item with purchase sometimes in conjunction with a discount code.

Let’s Get Started!

I need a pumpkin spice latte STAT

Daniel Stone Candle

New this quarter, FFF has ADD ONS of items from older boxes at a discount. I picked up a Daniel Stone Candle for $15 (retails for $42). I love this candle from a previous box, and you can use the warm wax on hands and body. I got lucky and got what I wanted … POMEGRANATE! Also, new this quarter is if you have subscribed for 4 consecutive quarters in a row (or have a year subscription), you can pick out the color of some of your items.

Although ignitable and wearable, not a nom (I think)

Hmmm… a magazine of the products. Magazines must be the new trend with sub boxes.

Note to FFF: It may be raining outside now but it is not raining where she is. Plus her hair is not frizzy and/or flat from rain.

HISY Battery Pack

The HISY Battery Pack retails for $24.99. This was the first spoiler for this box. I have already bought two battery packs from my beloved Amazon addiction. One is in one of my diaper bags, and the other is on a counter. They are great with emergencies or if you have the new iPad mini that drains so much faster than other iPads doing the same thing. So this may be my dedicated iPad battery pack (or it will be the backup on the counter).

I will call mine Hissy Fit.

Glass Crystal Bead Bracelet by Tribe Alive

The Glass Crystal Bead Bracelet retails for $49. This is the second spoiler. It is lovely and adjustable which is a plus in the sub box world. These bracelets are made by impoverished women at fair trade wages.  In any event, it is nice and sparkly. Nice and sparkly things go to my wee one’s jewelry box. I need to take a picture of her jewelry box one day. It should be in theory full of baubles from sub boxes.

Pnut loves nice and sparkly things . . . for her wee ones (but really for her to admire from 2 feet away)

image

Tappan Collective Umbrella

The Tappan Collective Umbrella retails for $32. I love umbrellas in sub boxes. I live where it is windy, and I break many of an umbrella even the vented ones. My eldest wee one is on a “rain rain go away” kick so I will use this with her when it is not a really windy day so we can keep it longer.

Childhood singsong memories brighten up any day with this umbrella on a rainy day!

image

Manna Kadar Lip Locked Lucky Lip Stain

The Manna Kadar Lip Locked Lucky Lip Stain retails for $24. I received a baby one via Birchbox, and I so wanted this item to have the little jewel on top of the handle. It is a very nice lipgloss, but it would have been awesome with a little jewel on top.

Any makeup packaging with a jewel or more makes it more awesome!

image

Doctor D Schwab Flawless Skin Fluid

The Doctor D Schwab Flawless Skin Fluid retails for $39. OMG is this box ever going to end! This is a moisturizer with luminous plus it is natural to boot!

To be luminous like the morning dew.

image

Merrithew Strength Tubing Ankle + Total Body Tone DVD

The two items retail for $33. I think I will chuck the DVD and incorporate the Tubing Ankle in Pilates. Realistically, I see myself getting my ass ready to do Pilates but end up tripping on myself chasing one of my wee ones getting into stuff wee ones get into.

Shhhhh … I buy FFF for the Fab and the Fun less for the Fit. It’s the TRUTH!

image

Purple Purse Foundation Tassel Charm

The Purple Purse Foundation Tassel Charm retails for $10. This is to support domestic violence victims. I love this tassel, but my wee ones will love it more. I will attach it to one of their pouches. I start em up early with my pouch addiction.

The picture is of a Jujube Fuel Cell, and I use this usually for their snacks.

Nom

Gold Radiance Luxury Facial Mask

The Gold Radiance Luxury Facial Mask retails for $65 and is a 2 pack. I saved the best for last. I have a bunch of facial masks like this mating in the refrigerator, but I soooooo want to use this on Halloween!!! We usually go to a cousin’s place for Halloween, and I think I can sell her on putting on a mask.

It’s gold, it’s scary, it’s Halloween, it’s a luxe $32.50 value, have an overpriced gold facial on your face whilst you multitask serving treats!

FILLERS

Crest 3D White Brilliance 2-Step System Sample

I needed to brush my teeth, so I used this. Step 1 is a white paste. It tasted like toothpaste. Step 2 is a clear gel. It was OK but weird when I started it. It had baking soda aftertaste.

Picture It On Canvas: $75 Gift Card (with free shipping)

I will use this if I remember to use this before it expires.

Jeweler’s Wife: $15 Gift Card (with free shipping)

I will get something small since I cannot find a code to stack.

Verdict: I love FFF. The boxes overall give a real bang for your buck. I love value, but not enough to add it all up.  FFF added it up in its booklet ($357). So that is an awesome value for 50 clams (or 40 clams if you use a code)! If you would like to subscribe to FFF, click here.

The tassel looks great on the Jujube Fuel Cell. FFF did a great job with the fall box. It was interesting to see all the items included.

      Thanks for complementing my pouch!
I agree FFF did a great job this quarter.
I wish people would get excited about diaper bags as I do when I see a JuJuBe bag. I am in the minority I think Petunia Picklebottoms are the favorite here I have one but it’s not machine washable like my JuJuBes.

LoL I love how you don’t care about the Fit part! I get kinda mad that they don’t cater to the Fit part more. But since you are Fun and Fabulous I guess that would be the most important!!!!

Now I know who to save the fit stuff to goto … Miss Fun Fit & Fabulous!

I just got a jump rope in my sugar bash box that is uhhhh going to be fun to review sighhhhhh

Well Subscriptionista, obviously you’ll need a video review! Of your shadow jump roping, of course. Hah.

I traded on MSA swap for the pink jump rope that came in some box a few months ago. Fun fact: I was in a jump rope club as a kid, and actually used to love teaching kids to jump rope at work because it’s pretty hilarious watching them learn. But also really great watching them finally getting it and not just using the ropes as lassos.

Someone on MSA shared a code for jeweler’s wife, $10 off $30: jw1030, which they said stacks. I’m bummed that most of the cheap stuff on the site seems to have disappeared overnight, so I think I’ll hold onto my gift card for a bit. Can’t really complain tho, this is one of the best boxes ever, I’m silly excited to put the weird gold mask on and freak out my husband!

    • September 30, 2015 at 8:42 am

Nope it did not stack for me yesterday and the lower items were still there yesterday as I was stalking since I saw the spoilers. I was iffy on the lower price items I will wait out for another code and give it a shot! Otherwise I need to remember to give away the code before it expires. I let the Zumba gift code (I believe it was FFF) lapse but that was because the only thing I wanted was not in my size…
Thank you for posting the code and also commenting 🙂

I may force myself to buy another Alex and Ani bracelet….

      They are cute!

I was, uh, playing Christmas music while I opened this box… haha and it really felt like a big gift! Things just kept coming out of the box and I like pretty much everything! Also, I put the ankle apparatus on when I’m studying at night. Soon enough I will forget I’m wearing it and trip and fall on my cat.

    • September 30, 2015 at 9:44 pm

I love it! Playing Christmas music while opening a box. The box had so much in it.

Most people in my neighborhood have their homes decorated for Halloween for the past couple of weeks. Even lights all over the place. Lowes and Target have out their Christmas stuff. Time for Christmas music!!!

    • October 1, 2015 at 6:23 am

AWESOME playing Christmas music in the background . . . It does feel like a big gift!
That is a good idea about using it at night while studying when everything is quiet. Hopefully you will not forget about the ankle apparatus (If I were you I would likely fall asleep and forget also)!

Finally got my own FFF box when I returned yesterday from work trip to Denver – love it! And LOVE your review – I too got the box mostly for the Fab & Fun. 🙂 (And I got the pomegranate candle – yum!)
My “Hissy Fit” (ha!!) is mint, my bracelet is the white stones and my umbrella is yellow. Deciding if I want to keep the bracelet… I don’t normally wear gold but it’s subtle. And I don’t normally wear bracelets b/c they’re too big for my child-sized wrists but this one looks like it can go pretty small so I might try it.
Never heard of JuJuBe (no kids) but I adore that purple bag!! I also googled it and saw lots of fun patterns and pretty colors. I might have to buy one the next time I need a new lunch bag.

    • October 2, 2015 at 12:15 pm

Thanks for your kind words Heat!
We are both fabulous and fun with child size wrists!
I was on the bus this morning and I had a Jujube Hello Kitty bag that can be a huge non-diaper bag and this lady complemented me on it saying that she had no kids but so wanted that bag she is a big Hello Kitty fan! The fuel cell is insulated and it is good at taking a beating and is washable … see if you can get ones in your paws first before buying just to make sure it is the right size for your needs. FYI there are JuJuBe fanatics that modify their JuJuBes you can goto Etsy for that but I haven’t done that.
