How is everyone making out in their small steps towards change?

The picture is beautiful. This post is a quick post because my little guy is not feeling well today.

Me at Tai Chi
Me at Tai Chi

I felt great at Tai Chi. We went through the form in silence. It was beautiful and peaceful.

I’ve been walking more and pulled out a few indoor walking DVDs for easy access. My woman’s group focused on bliss this week!

My goal for this week is to find a rug that I can put on the floor by my side of the bed and a small space heater to warm up the room in the morning. The master bedroom is about 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the house. This will help me with my arthritis in the morning.

Any suggestions on a small natural/eco rug?

What do you have plan this week? What changes are you making? Share as much or as little as you want!

Peaceful Tai Chi, increased walking and focusing on bliss… Sounds like you’re doing great working toward your goals!

I got my 10k steps all week except 1 day – even walked on the treadmill after 9pm the last 2 evenings (with a sore throat coming on…) to give me last those 1100 steps or so that I needed. I need to set clearer goals around eating though… or those habits aren’t going to change.

I hope you feel better! Great job on the 10K steps!

I need some lessons on rug buying with the new condo ladies share your tips!

My expertise in limited to IKEA for the most part they have real and fake ?sheep? skin rugs. They feel sooooooo soft. But they are white and I can’t have nice white things with wee ones.

I think if you collect enough cat hair it might make a fantastic rug.. No? Ok.

I joke with my sister that one year I am going to buy her the crafting with cat hair book.

I tried crafting with cat hair and it did not go well…

Well, grossly enough, I happened to pick up some cat magazine at Petco that suggested making use of cat hair by making sweaters [or a bedside rug!]. But, I think because you live with boys, you probably have a plethora of old tshirts and should do a rag rug. I started making one over the summer, but it’s all braided and in a pile now because I didn’t like the limited colors my roomie had to offer [red, blue, black, white]. Then my cat barfed on it =(

Although, Subista, if you’re into it you should totally make a furrug! But, I have this like super fear of swallowing hair/fur, and I already get panicked enough when Bella sits on my face at night riiiight after I put on chapstick.

    • October 22, 2015 at 11:04 am

I did not think of a rag rug! I don’t know if I am ready for a furrug. Bella sounds like she loves you.

Barf aside, she does love me very much and follows me all over the house. It’s actually kind of funny, and I noticed it more when I was unemployed over the summer! She’s my fat little shadow.

Great job Sub Bella! It’s wonderful that you are continuing to make changes for your better health!

I finally started working out a little and improved a smidge what I eat, but I have ways to go. I’m going to continue to work on it. I still haven’t tackled my finances and I think I’m just procrastinating on that right now. Not sure why. I usually love money matters.

One area of my life that is giving me anxiety right now is the clutter, both mental and physical. I have such a short attention span as a result. So I’ve decided to start writing down daily to-do lists and longer-term action plans in a notebook (from a subscription box, of course). I need to write it down so it isn’t all floating in my brain. I’m also committing to take on one project a day to clean the physical clutter at home.

      Hi Artemis (aka Badass Goddess),
I too have clutter that I need to work on… more physical but a little mental too. Somehow the bigger clutter, the more I procrastinate – it’s just too overwhelming! One project a day is a good idea b/c that’s manageable. I need small, manageable goals.

      How are things progressing?

Great post! Now that it’s getting cold out I need to start some indoor exercise. What are some good indoor walking ones?

    • October 23, 2015 at 11:01 am

      I meant indoor workout videos.

      • October 28, 2015 at 5:21 pm

I don’t have good suggestions because of where I am health-wise. I am using Wii Fit and Leslie Sansome Walk at Home DVDs.

        Anyone else have suggestions?

I have been pretty good at my sunscreen applications!

Also because of the upcoming move I need major “spark joy” screening. Fortunately we have a month (or more if we can’t procure a renter) to move our stuff slowly as we are hiring movers for the heavy stuff.

Heat your husband takes awesome photos I love this one. It reminds me of my mom her favorite color is yellow. I hope she is coming for Turkey. I digress…

I’ve been racking my brain to think of what to write today. I have nothing positive to write. I did not attend tai chi, the women’s group did not go well this week, I did not accomplish my goals with the rug and the heater. Some weeks are like that. I can put up a post still if you want or comment here if you have updates.

What?! You’re not perfect? My Sub Bella schemata is all askew… 😉

Don’t beat yourself up. I only hit my $10k steps 2-3 times in the past week – I’m partly blaming it on my cold (which isn’t too bad, just annoying and making me feel a little lazier than usual), partly blaming it on my wonky hip (which I still haven’t called a Dr. or chiropractor about), and my drunk, dancing night on Saturday! (It was for charity and so fun! Except I apparently called my BFFs new boyfriend by her ex-boyfriend’s name – oops!) Oh and I can also blame fall TV since I can’t keep up with everything on my DVR!!

And I haven’t made any goals around my clutter yet either.

Let’s strive to better over the next week!

      • October 29, 2015 at 7:25 am

Heat7918 – The drunk, dancing night sounds fun. LOL on the wrong name. Here’s to a better week!

    • October 28, 2015 at 8:57 pm

Woman you made 2 wonderful positive posts today with great commentary!

I am not even going to mention my goals just that I lower my expectations. The daily basic goals achieved for this week is to make sipping chocolate with instant espresso and keep everyone alive. Other than the fire alarm going off everytime I use the oven, I pretty much meet these goals.

Oh and I lighted 2 candles today and thought of you *smiles*

      • October 29, 2015 at 7:26 am

Thank you:) You have a lot on your plate. Yay on making the basic goals and lighting 2 candles.

        • October 29, 2015 at 8:11 am

          #survival 😉

Sorry about the brain fart … Amazon order the space heater I love A for the free ship and the reviews. That way you don’t pay $200 pass by Target and forget to buy it.

I want more chocolate. I may be addicted since I ran out of the Jiva coffee cubes…
