CurlKit Subscription Box Review – October 2015

Disclosure: There are no referral/affiliate links. I received this box at a discount.

I am on CurlKit’s email list and received an email offer that interested me enough to subscribe.

I like their slogan
I like their slogan

I like CurlKit’s slogan. My hair seems happier when it is allowed to be all it can be. Should I expect curl products in a box that has the word curl in its title and on the box?

It's a takeover
It’s a Creme of Nature Straight from Eden takeover.

CurlKit emailed a few hints about the product that was taking over the box.

The items!
The items!

I love the color scheme. Creme of Nature Straight from Eden: is infused with coconut, avocado, and olive oil. It’s sulfate-free and paraben-free. I am confused about the purpose of CurlKit. I thought it would provide hair products for curly hair. I do not see one curly haired person on the Creme of Nature Straight from Eden website. The regular Creme of Nature product line looks great for naturally curly hair. My interpretation of the Creme of Nature Straight from Eden is that it is part of the Straight from Eden Relaxer System. I can’t even use it if I wanted to because of the olive oil. Olive oil fades out my color.

Zelda likes to walk with us. It’s hard to get a picture of them together because they are always in motion.  I don’t have the heart to finish the rest of the review.

Verdict: I am very disappointed in my first CurlKit. I was looking forward to trying out product for curly hair and received items that promised to give me healthy, straight hair. I was charged for my second box before I received my first box because I ordered late in the month. I did cancel and hope that the November box has items for curly hair.

What do you think of the October CurlKit? Are you as puzzled as I am? Share below and anything else on your mind.

Wow, that is super disappointing! I try not to use heat on my hair [I sometimes use the blowdryer], so I would not want this. Are their boxes usually all just one brand? That’s sort of interesting, so you can try a whole line, but unfortunate if you don’t like the brand or ingredients.

I don’t think this is normal for Curlkit… I got September with a discount and here is the review on MSA – http://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2015/10/curlkit-subscription-box-review-september-2015.html
The Kardashian product actually works really well on my waves/curls – and I didn’t think the smell was too strong or perfumey.

I also got charged for October about 2 days after I got September… which I wasn’t very happy about. I should have warned you about the October box. Although I straighten my hair often so I may go ahead and try these. But does olive oil fade all color? I may only be able to use right before I re-color.

I remember the Sept review! I purchased the October’s box because they offered it for 60% off. I felt like I was punked. It was the same feeling that I got when I opened the 5th Avenue Box.

Speaking about the 5th Avenue Box, Sophia told Zelda that her mistress received a wonderful box. I want to see pictures!!!

Olive Oil – the olive oil based shampoo and conditioner from LLB started fading out my hair after a week and a half of use. It might show up quicker in my hair because of the red tones.

I gave my sister the shampoo and conditioner from the LLB box. It did not work well in her hair. She is a solid 3A curl type. I offered the products from this box. She’s not crazy about it, but will take it.

The lovely Brandy from Hello Subscription had a licensed stylist reviewed them earlier this year. I almost joined back then.

Her Feb review – http://hellosubscription.com/2015/03/february-2015-curlkit-review-subscription-box-for-naturally-curly-hair/ – shows a variety of items.

The March review – http://hellosubscription.com/2015/03/march-2015-curlkit-review-subscription-box-for-naturally-curly-hair/ – shows three products from the same product line.

Brandy has been instrumental in helping us behind the scene. Thank you, Brandy!!
