Sparking Joy: What Sub Box Item Brings You Joy Right Now?

I wanted to start a new series to open discussion. I got this idea from a previous discussion here regarding the KonMari Method which basically is keeping what “sparks joy” in your life.

My Sparking Joy right now is…

image

Nest Fragrances New York Lemongrass & Ginger Liquid Soap

I received this in my June Home Burke Decor Box. I keep this on the windowsill away from my eldest wee one. She uses up any suds she has access to for a toy bubble bath.

Everytime I use this I smile. I do not have to lift my hands to my face to smell the wonderful fragrance. I find that I wash my hands more slower and mindfully when I use this hand soap. It feels luxe for the few seconds of doing something ordinary. It gives me a little more “me” time.

I love soap, I’m enjoying my Scentenary soap from Lush. My sub box items which spark joy are Blue Apron and Driftaway coffee. it’s been really helpful with my schedule to have a home cooked meal for our teen. Thanks Pnut!

Thanks for commenting Kelly! Stay tuned for more postings on these series I always look forward to your responses 🙂
Enjoy your wee one. He is not wee as he used to be but he is still wee (I will probably be saying this when me wee ones are in college)!

Aww so sweet, I have a son in college and youngest next year.

I’m dreading when that happens. My oldest is a junior. I’m excited for him, and sad for me. It’s nice that you have that time with your teen. Enjoy 🙂

Great idea for a new series! I’m so behind on my subscriptionista reading. must. catch. up!
Would you be able to share the link to that KonMari discussion? I have that book and I’m curious to hear what others think!

I was just looking for the commentary this morning to link! I found it and here it is
      http://subscriptionista.com/2015/08/saturday-empties-extravaganza-8815/
It is also the commentary when the ladies approached me to be part of Subscriptionista . . . I am more tame that I thought I would be guess it comes with the territory when you actually write a post! I think I became more sensitive and empathetic now because now I try to think from the senders point of view (some should know better, some do not know better, some want to learn better). Plus the ladies can always tone me down they sorta do that now lol 😉
I may complain about Randomly at times but trust me that I will be one of the first to sign up for Nina once I know and if I fall in love with the full spoilers!

Thanks for the link, Pnut. You are doing a REALLY great job with your posts! I’m glad you’ve joined Subista and Sub Bella 🙂 I was trying to come up with one of those celeb mash up names for you guys. Kinda hard! All I got was “Subscripnutella”.

And ever since Heat referred to Sub Bella as “Boobalicious” that name just keeps popping into my head! I asked Siri what she knew about Boobalicious and she said “I’ve never really thought about it”. Yeah right, Siri….

        • October 1, 2015 at 12:25 pm

I love this comment! We have a celeb mashup name!!!

          Nutella, that’s brilliant.

          • October 1, 2015 at 2:04 pm

Thanks ladies! *feeling really good … my day is made good*

I think Nutella might be safer than Boobalicious for Sub Bella. Unless Subista opens up the champagne room, people googling Boobalicious expecting boobs would be like “whaaaaa” when they click on our blog!

          • October 1, 2015 at 4:23 pm

Lots of Pnut love going on. Yay!

  3. October 1, 2015 at 12:34 pm

My soap is about 3/4 ways empty. I love using it for the same reasons. I can’t wait to see the next selection.

    • October 1, 2015 at 2:09 pm

ITA on everything. I think I will break the Pnut saving tendency and splurge for the Nest Ocean scent when I run out. I will still hide it from my wee one hands. The next younger one is leveling up in dexterity so I will have to watch out for at least two of my Pnut people soon 😉
I mean seriously, I have used so many hand soaps and this one in particular really makes me happy and I know I will love the Ocean scent more! If I do feel the same way with the Ocean scent, then Nest hand soap will reach HG status for me!

I want to know what came in the Burke Decor box. There’s nothing out there. Nothing on the blogs or forums. How am I supposed to know if I am missing out on a great box!!!

    • October 1, 2015 at 4:48 pm

Ahhhh! I am sorry I did not update my credit card info! But once spoilers come out and if it is good I will race you to get a box 😉

    • October 2, 2015 at 4:16 pm

i popped over here just as i finished my review. you’re in luck. as in that you missed this box (SOB)

      • October 2, 2015 at 4:47 pm

Brandy, thank you for thinking of us! I don’t know what to say. I will figure something to say at some point. I don’t regret missing out on the box.

Check out Brandy’s Burke Decor Review!!! It’s straight-foward and honest. The glass carafe leaves a lot to be desired. The prices..they were really off this month.

        • October 2, 2015 at 7:07 pm

          Oh boy.

When I get to the stage where I do not want to worry about stuff getting broken, I would like a glass carafe (ungreased of course).

I hope next month is better they rocked it after the first month mishap…

*turns head awry* I think I hear angry villagers villiaging

          • October 3, 2015 at 6:40 am

it was just really odd to be so dirty. it really *is* greased up. we just got some various items from cb2 for photos – not the highest quality in the world but pretty good – and they are just miles better and much more sturdy than this piece while still being modern & elegant. i don’t think a nightstand carafe with a self-top is a good candidate for having such thin glass.

Awesome idea for a post! My Eucalyptus Spearmint candle definitely sparked joy but it’s all gone… I need to decide if I want to reactivate my ePantry account just to order more.

    • October 1, 2015 at 7:11 pm

What brand is that candle? Can you get it via save and subscribe? I got a Mrs. Meyers candle via S&S but it was a very strong scent I put it away for when the electricity goes out.
I have not done ePantry even with their promo for free ship. I also have that Amazon 2 hour delivery and it looks good but u have not tried it. I think I like the idea of getting boxes once a month like a typical sub box lol.
One last question, do you have a Costco card? I have one and someone told me that their delivery is competitive as Amazon…

      • Heat7918
        October 2, 2015 at 5:35 am

The candle is Grove Collaborative – I googled it once and it brought me to ePantry… I’ll have to look into S&S. I don’t have a Costco card or Amazon Prime. (Sorry!)
Other than a few too many emails, ePantry was good. I just don’t go through products very fast with just me and Hubbie. And I can easily get Mrs. Meyers and such at Target.
        P.S. I sent Sub Bella a little surprise… That’s how she knows. 😉

        • October 2, 2015 at 7:22 am

Thanks for responding I will check that candle.
Nutella needs to do a review
          Bahahahahahahaha!

All this talk makes me want to order a Eucalyptus Spearmint candle. Today I learned that Coochie Cream is real.

      • October 1, 2015 at 9:25 pm

I know we are so serious about our candles here!
I am worried whether I should ask (but I am doing it right now I cannot help it) . . . how did you learn today that Coochie Cream is real?

        • October 2, 2015 at 2:37 pm

Oops. Coochy Cream. I received a few sample bottles in the mail the other day thanks to a wonderful reader!

          • October 2, 2015 at 7:00 pm

Review please *stated in a straight face*

one of my favorite soap sellers on etsy has started a monthly box, I got the Halloween box.

    • October 2, 2015 at 7:15 pm

Must give a report please 🙂
Like during the weekly empties post please send over to us a picture of an empty counter with an empty soap dish and give a review of one of the soaps.
Heh… I am having images of one of my wee one’s empty plate on a counter. Review would go something like “it was better off on the floor where I can eat it.” That particular one is like a chicken I might as well throw food on the floor because that is the preferred buffet of choice. That one always wonders where all the food goes each morning.
Yes, I was saving this commentary waiting for someone to give me an open. Thank you Kelly 😉

The best item I’ve gotten was in a swap with another girl. It’s Lotus Wei Joy Juice serum [giant bottle of amazing smelling essential oils], and it came in the Organic Authority Goodie Box. It’s wonderful! I put a couple of squirts on my hands before I go to bed, then I sit there and huff it… because isn’t that what you’re supposed to do with essential oils? I should probably go smell it again just to make sure it’s still there…

Almost creepily sensual oil you’ve got there! I think mine is suggested more for using just a little behind the ears or at the temples to provide calm and happiness. I try to think happy thoughts too. “Please let there be no cat butts on my face tonight.”

        • October 6, 2015 at 5:55 pm

Ok I will try the creepily sensual oil behind my ears and at the temples!
I usually wake up to a wee one’s feet on my face. At least they are not stinky. Sorry about the cat butts hope that you get an occasional sweet paw or nose.

          • October 6, 2015 at 9:39 pm

Whiskers usually. It makes me laugh thinking she’s sitting on my chest going, “WAKE UP, LADY! WHAT’S IN YOUR MOUTH!? Oh hi, pet me.”
