Target Beauty Box Review – October 2015

Target Beauty Boxes seem to come out every month in a time frame that is as mystical and hard to pin down as getting a good parking spot. It is not a subscription but it does seem to come out each month nowadays. You just have to be fast enough to get in on the deal when it posts. The boxes cost $5 to $7 or $10 and include shipping. They also usually have a coupon with $3 off of $15 or the like.

This month was $7 and was full of L’Oreal exclusively.

Target Beauty Box

I really like the box it comes in because it is such a strong box!

Target Beauty Box

A $5 off of $20 L’Oreal beauty purchase. Since I religiously use a few of their items this pretty much made the box $2 for me.

L'Oreal - Elnett Satin Hairspray
L’Oreal – Elnett Satin Hairspray

L’Oreal – Elnett Satin Hairspray: This product has a cult following because it really does provide good style hold but also doesn’t make hair stiff or crunchy. I mean crunchy is awesome for food but not for your hair.

This has only been available in the US since 2008 and women were known to smuggle this back. People say ‘smuggle’ but it wasn’t against the law or anything. I think it is the nozzle that sprays a fine mist that really sets this apart from other hairsprays. That, and the super retro can design.

I see your Aqua Net and raise you Elnett Satin!

L’Oreal – Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo: I am sad they didn’t include conditioner with this to make it a full set. Not much I can say about shampoo other then to say that it smells good to me!

This is for “damaged, overworked hair.” I wonder if they make one for “damaged, really lazy hair?”

L'Oreal - Voluminous Original Mascara (310 Blackest Black)
L’Oreal – Voluminous Original Mascara (310 Blackest Black)

L’Oreal – Voluminous Original Mascara (310 Blackest Black): I have become more interested in trying different mascaras. I have fairly sensitive eyes, though not nearly as much as poor Sub Bella. I just know one day I will find my mascara soulmate!

Promises 5x Fuller Lashes… How do they measure that?

L'Oreal - Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Sample (shampoo, pre-conditioner, conditioner)
L’Oreal – Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Sample (shampoo, pre-conditioner, conditioner)

L’Oreal – Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Sample (shampoo, pre-conditioner, conditioner): I have a little bit of a wave to in the undercoat of my fur. This system is supposed to help your hair get straight with heat action or something. It is all so confusing. I tried to look up reviews and came across one that was beyond hilarious. I kid you not the review was just one line: “It’s a magical and mystical experience that I haven’t felt before!” Wait… what now?

They say that “Now straight starts before the heat,” and I couldn’t help but wonder what Heat7918 has to say about that?

Target Beauty Box

*Foil Sample* L’Oreal Revitalift Volume Filler Serum/Cream

Verdict: This box wasn’t as exciting as the past ones which hopefully will not be a theme! I still will get the value out of the box itself but I think past boxes have been WAY better. We can all hope that the next both will be more exciting and full of value!

    Aquanet! The “wave” the memories…

I really like Voluminous that is one of the great drugstore items that I would go back to if I did not have an army of sub box mascaras!

I don’t think this one would have been super exciting for me, either, but it is a good value, at least! Any tips for catching the boxes when they come out? (I miss when Target did the free ones!!!)

The straight may start before the heat… But the party doesn’t start until I arrive!

I was more of a Rave 4 girl back in the day – it didn’t just make your crunchy, it was rock solid!!

Pnut, I agree about the Voluminous mascara. And my favorite line is the “damaged, really lazy hair”! 🙂

I thought it was a great box for L’oreal fans. I loved the “damaged, really lazy hair” line.
