Yogi Jewelry Surprise October
Yogi Jewelry Surprise October Unboxed

Now, I am not a yogi–at least I don’t think so, because I have no idea what a yogi is–but I like jewelry and chocolate, and I hate doing yoga. I think that makes me almost their target demographic. Perhaps at some point they will send out chocolate jewelry valued at over $200?? That would be the Yogiest Jewelry Surprise. Or just a good April Fool’s joke!

Sorry for the deep shadows in that picture. It’s startling when the sun comes out in the PNW. I don’t know how to adjust my hipster filter settings to account for such weather occurrences. I was blinded, and simultaneously wanted to go lay down because the sun drained all of my energy.

Taza Salted Almond Chocolate Mexicano
Taza Salted Almond Chocolate Mexicano

Tazo Chocolate Salted Almond Chocolate MexicanoThis was SO GOOD! I mean, you can tell by the way I ripped open the packaging and ate some while taking pictures to regain the energy stolen by the sun. I thought it would just be one giant hockey puck chunk of chocolate that I would have to Hulk-smash on the floor [ala orange chocolate balls, the chocolatiest of all balls]. But no, there were two discs of chocolate that were easy to break into smaller triangles.

Despite the disappointment at the ease of obtaining my afternoon snack, I was a big fan of the salty/sweet chocolate flavor, but not of the powdery consistency. Perhaps there was some defect in the chocolate making process? I am not sure, but even though the discs are priced at $5 [according to the Taza website] I might have to try a few more for quality control purposes. Vanilla, cinnamon, and perhaps some of the chili flavored.

Note to self: go to expensive hippie grocery stores tomorrow and find fancy chocolate.

One of my favorite things about buying real chocolate is that the darker it gets, the more you can eat! I like 60% or higher, and the ones that say it’s okay for me to eat half the bar as a serving size.

Amazonite Stone Hamsa Hand Bracelet
Amazonite Stone Hamsa Hand Bracelet

Amazonite Stone Hamsa Hand Bracelet: I love turquoise, teal, and aqua colors, so this Amazonite bracelet was mostly a win for me. However, I’m not wild about charms; they just get in the way, especially since I work at a computer. But since this elastic bracelet grips onto my wrist fairly well, and the charm is super light, the bracelet actually doesn’t move much. I like it and will probably wear it occasionally.

I must confess something… I’m not writing this blog post all aloney on my owny…

Someone is helping me write.
Someone is helping me write.

Perhaps you will not be surprised to see that I too have a cat!

Bella will sleep on anything.
Bella will sleep on anything.

Her name is Isabella, and she really likes to help me write by standing on my laptop with her butt in my face. Or just laying down on my hands. So very helpful, that one! While she did not help eat any of the chocolate, or help me with my shadow photography issue, she did help by biting me when I tried to use my hand to continue typing.

Labradorite Pendant Necklace
Labradorite Pendant Necklace

Labradorite Pendant Necklace: This necklace was the entire reason why I signed up for the box! Though, I did see it valued over $90, which I call BS on because, while I may not be a Labradorite expert, I do happen to eye these stones in gem stores and there’s nothing particularly special about the chain or piece. Also, I have Google, and Google says nope!

The first day I wore this necklace, a woman asked me if it was obsidian. Go ahead. Google obsidian. Sorry… I aced my 50 stone test in my Earth Science lab in college. I might be a nerd? I was drooling over a counter with mica in it last night…

The necklace and the bracelet in the sun.
The necklace and the bracelet in the sun.

Verdict: This box was a big hit! I will definitely allow them to charge my credit card again next month in the hopes of receiving more cool jewelry pieces harvested from the earth. Though, don’t tell them I don’t do yoga… What do you think of Yogi Jewelry Surprise? Are you like me, and just a Jewelry Surprise/FabFitFun fan?

This review made me laugh so hard!!! Yes! I love that you have kitty help. Awesome review and pics!!!! If you have a Trader Joes you can totes just eat all the chocolate there. If they try to stop you ask them what their favorite product is… thatll keep em busy enough for your to get your fill!

Subista, I was just thinking that I could have the employees all distracted by someone just continually ringing the bell or stealing the sample tray. Then I could just “sample” all the chocolates. They do have the bestest mango gummi candies too!

Keep asking them if they are going to answer that phone! They will just think you have super hearing and rush to answer it while you fill yourself with sweet sweet gummy candy?

Hysterical! Do we have an official 4th blogger now for my favorite subscription box blog?! I think Subscriptionista should write a fun intro or something – maybe we need a new menu option “Meet the bloggers” with bios. 🙂

I love jewelry & chocolate and I hate yoga too! So I never really thought about getting this box… but I love that you did! You had me cracking up throughout the review. But now we must talk seriously about chocolate – I’ve been eating 60%-75% dark chocolate as well since its “healthy” and I find that it’s ruining milk chocolate for me! Maybe that’s a good thing? Right now my favorites are Lindt 70% and Ghiradelli 72% because I can buy both at Kroger.

Agreed I am going to get something going for that! Did you notice I finally figured out the duplicate box category problems? You’re the best for helping me make the blog better

I rarely do Yoga. I ordered the Yoga Surprise LE October box or something like that because i like their boxes, but did not want to start a sub.

      I love dark chocolate. Yummy!!!

Heat, I haaated chocolate for a long time because Hershey’s is so waxy [and not technically chocolate]. But, then I moved to Seattle for a summer, and that’s where the Theo chocolate factory is and I fell in luuurve with good chocolate! Throw away your Lindt and Ghiradelli [into your mouth, obviously, don’t waste it] and then go to Whole Foods, PCC, or any sort of hippie store and get yourself some Theo’s, Chocolove, Endangered Species, or whatever else. Actually, they’ll probably have some of those in the organic aisle at Kroger. I have a chocolate drawer at work…

I think I’ve seen Endangered Species at Kroger… I’ll give it a try, thanks for the tip!

Theo and Endangered Species are yummy! I found out about Theo at a Mother Earth News Fair. They were a vendor there and sold out a day before the fair ended.

    Awesome, funny review!!
I would also love to see a “meet the blogger” with reviews!! Maybe like at the bottom of each review like they do on MSA.

You’re so right. I’m going to try to find out how ASAP

      • October 18, 2015 at 8:20 am

Ugh! You need to make my “meet the blogger” sound funny. My life is lacking humor right now although Zelda has her moments.

        • October 18, 2015 at 8:23 am

Otherwise I am sending you a picture of me in that low cut top. You can label it Boobalicious. Works for me.

Didn’t we have a few in the running lol? You will have to jog my memory on the one you actually want again!!!!!!

          • October 18, 2015 at 5:27 pm

Sub Bella, I like your idea for a Boobalicious picture. Perhaps you could just wear a top made entirely of subbox scarves?

          • October 18, 2015 at 7:12 pm

LOL. I don’t know about the scarves unless they have boulder holders. 40+ years of gravity means things are not riding as high as they were in my 20s.

Taza is made the next town over to me – you can take tours! I think the consistency is because it’s stone ground. But I haven’t taken the tour so I can’t tell you much more than that. :p

    • October 18, 2015 at 5:29 pm

Bad kitty! A. because that’s your user name, and B. because whhyyy would you not go on a chocolate factory tour?? I think you may be right about the stone ground bit. That makes sense.
