Play! by Sephora Subscription Box Unboxing – November 2015

Disclaimer: There are no affiliate/referral links in this post. The box was paid for by Heat7918.

Play! By Sephora has brought a lot of excitement to the subscription box world.  Sephora currently is marketing Play! in limited areas with a nationwide release in 2016. Sephora’s point of view is that it allows them to work through the kinks of entering the wild west of the subscription box world. Meanwhile, potential subscribers everywhere are screaming, “We want to Play!”  Heat7918 kindly share photos and commentary of the November Play! Box.

Subscription: Play! By Sephora

Price: $10.00 with free shipping.

What to Expect: Per Sephora’s FAQ A monthly box of deluxe samples, along with an exclusive PLAY! BOOK — packed with helpful advice — and a PLAY! PASS to redeem in store for a free one-on-one learning session with a beauty expert. The six product samples in your PLAY! by SEPHORA box are from the same prestige brands we carry in store and online, and they are sized to use multiple times.

Notes: Sephora is test-marketing Play! in limited areas. Play! by Sephora will be available nationwide in the USA in 2016.

Here’s Heat7918 pictures and swatch thoughts! I put my name next to my commentary.

First Peek
First Peek

I haven’t tried any of it just yet but I’ve heard great things about all these products & good reviews! I may put on the lipstick or lipgloss tonight – they both look like wonderful colors that would flatter many skin tones.

Sub Bella – Sephora knows their stuff!

I took a picture of each product with its page in the booklet. The booklet is awesome. These products are all supposed to be exclusive to Sephora.

SubBella – I need an informative booklet when it comes to cosmetics and skincare. It’s helpful to me. It’s exciting that exclusive products are included.

Make Up Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Hydrating Primer:

Sub Bella – I did not know that you could use primer on your neck and chest.  I will give it a try the next time I receive one.

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Rhubarb

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Rhubarb:

Sub Bella: My husband would be eyeing this up with the words Bite and Rhubarb in it. He loves Rhubarb. Good thing Sephora states it’s healthy enough to eat. Another fun fact according to Sephora is that one pencil has the same amount of resveratrol as five glasses of red wine!

Buxom Full on Lip Cream:

Sub Bella – The color looks great. Minty tingle is a plus.

Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof in My Boyfriend’s Jeans:

Sub Bella: The 80s! It’s a decade that I am reliving with my children.  I saw all the colors offered and miss using eye makeup.

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil:

Sub Bella – I did not know it could remove eye makeup!

Sub Bella – Happiness in a bottle!

Swatches
Swatches

The blue eyeliner is messy because of me going back & forth in a sloppy manner – not the liner’s fault as it was nice & smooth. I think both lip colors are gorgeous. I actually was surprised at the color in the cream/gloss swatch because it was very subtle on my lips – almost a clear gloss. I think it just looks darker on my white skin. 🙂

Sub Bella – I think people are happy to see swatches 🙂 I always think they look strange on me.

What do you think of the November Play! By Sephora subscription box? Is two lip products one too many? Are you excited about the nationwide launch in 2016? Share below and anything else on your mind!
