Boxycharm Subscription Box Review – December 2015

Boxycharm is a beauty subscription that costs $21 and usually sends out a really good value box. Of course it depends really if you are interested in the items or not. The make up is usually not super high end but it does include mostly all full size items. I like that they have more accessible brands and find the value to always be there for me personally. Even if I try out something I don’t like it is usually worth a good belly laugh.

Well lookie lookie!

This is where I would usually put a pic of the theme or info card but uhhhhh I dunno what I did with it. There was one, I just ummm probably threw it away….

Tatcha – Aburatorigami Japanese Beauty Papers (30 count): These papers are made of 100% Abaca Leaf and Gold Flake which makes me sad that they are being used for patting off the excess oil our faces produce. I understand that that if you have excess oil, then you probably want it gone but it seems so fancy to use these! We love Tatcha on this blog because of their high quality and beautiful presentation and these papers really do fit those reason.

Since I have super dry skin maybe I will write little Haiku notes on each one for Sub Bella.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics – All Over Glow: This is a pretty big amount of glow! The packaging is made in China while the actual product is formulated in Italy so, it leads to a conundrum for those who don’t like to use any products made in China. I wonder to myself, would they still give this a try?

I can barely shave twice a week let alone take the time to “gently dab on my collarbone and blend with a brush.”

NCLA – So Rich Cuticle Oil: I have another version of this oil and I like it a lot when I can remember to use it. Judging from the sad sight of my nails I really should try to remember more often. This is vitamin oil is made in Los Angeles where girls probably take more pride in their cuticles then I do.

Promotes the looks of “never working a day in your life.” Better then promoting the look of “never taking a shower in your life.”

Nelson J Beverly Hills – Moisture Healing Mask: Right when I opened the box I could smell coconut. I thought “Aw crap! The mask must have busted open!” It did not. So I find this to be spooky and pretty cool. The coconut smells like summer and like the product is going to really work. I hope so, because it feels like my hair is a bed of straw.

I thought this was a face mask at first and that could have put me in a very odd place…

Bellapierre Cosmetics – Gel Lip Liner (Cinnamon): This is a brand that we see a lot in boxes, but I am happy with trying this product because I haven’t yet had the chance. Weridly, I don’t know much about putting on lip liner so I am going to have to get on the internet and figure out what to do. It does feel really easy to glide on but not super sure if it is a great lip liner because… you guessed it, I know very little about them.

Does not taste like Cinnamon.

OFRA – Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick (Americano): I never wear dark colors like this. Usually I end up giving away the stuff unopened. However I was feeling jolly and slapped some on my bird lips. The color is growing on me! What do you all think? Does it make my lips look small? Either way it is something different so there is that…

I will say that it feels a little watery going on but doesn’t dry out my lips. It also seems to have good pigment. The thing I REALLY don’t like about this product is the smell. The smell is like a cream based dessert that has started to go bad.

I better do some research on the product and… maybe NOT put rancid smelling products on my lips.

Verdict: Again a month that is totally worth the $21! I like being able to try new things and I think I might have found a new color for me to try on my lips. I like that there was a product for my hair, skin, and nails, along with two lip products that compliment one another. Getting Tatcha is always an awesome feelings and I would not be mad if they decided to include Tatcha again!

I do like the color on you! Is that with or without lipliner? My boyfriend told me I should be wearing it with a lipstick one night and I was like how the heck do you know that. I forgot he dated a lot of high maintenance girls before me. And by that I mean girls who spend more than $10 every three months on beauty products… I’m so lazy. I think I shaved last month? And I use paper towels to blot skin oil. Meh.

Thanks girl! No lip liner because I can’t figure out how to use lip liner without looking like I have super drawn on lips. I wish I had more oil in my face sigh…
