Escape Monthly Subscription Unboxing – November 2015

Disclosure: There are no affiliate/referral links in this post. I purchased the box at a discount.

Escape Monthly was one of my very first subscription boxes back in May 2014. I purchased that box using a voucher. The September 2014 box was my last box because I became unhappy with my subscription. I saw reviews for Escape Monthly again. I received an email on October 20th for 50% off the Greece box and 20% off the California Box. I decided to resubscribe.

Subscription: Escape Monthly

Cost: $49.99/monthly for the regular-sized Escape Monthly. There are 20% coupons floating around. I will have the latest special listed in the coupon section. $24.95/monthly for the Escape Mini, $69.95/monthly for Escape Luxe. I do not think that the 20% off coupons work on the mini or luxe options.

What to Expect: Escape Monthly -A destination themed box filled with luxury products and a travel guide. Escape Mini:  4-5 luxury products and a travel brochure. Escape Luxe: high-value luxury products.

Coupon: Escape Monthly is offering a special where you receive the Greece box for free and 20% off the November Arizona box. Click here to take advantage of the savings.

I misplaced my information card. I will give my impression of the items. Escape Monthly did send me the missing items from the September Box and the October Box. The theme is Arizona.

Moon Tuscon Travel Guide

Moon Tuscon Travel Guide: Each box comes with a travel guide. I may browse through it.

Arizone Sun Bath & Shower Gelee
Arizona Sun Bath & Shower Gelee

Arizona Sun Bath & Shower Gelee: The Gelee is paraben and sulfate-free. It has a pleasant scent. The gelee is made in Arizona, USA.

Bath Pouf
Bath Pouf

Bath Pouf:  I do not know if I should feel that Escape Monthly is thoughtful by including it in the box with the shower gel. It makes me feel uncertain about the box.

Route 66 Coffe Mug
Route 66 Travel Mug

Route 66 Travel Mug: The other side of the coffee mug has facts about Route 66. It is made in China and is not dishwasher safe.

Phizz Play Trael WOrk
Phizz Play Travel Work

Phizz Play Travel Work: I believe they were included to help you recover from the Arizona heat.  It rehydrates you with vitamins and minerals. It is made in Switzerland.

Arizone Sun Lip Kist
Arizona Sun Lip Kist

Arizona Sun Lip Kiss: The lipbalm keeps your lips moisturized in the strong sun. It is made in Arizona.

Turqouise necklace and bracelet

Turquoise Necklace and Bracelet: The necklace and bracelet were packaged in a plastic bag. I do not know who made the jewelry or in what country it was made.

CowGirl Chcoalte

Not made in Arizona

CowGirl Chocolates Dark Chocolate Truffle Bar: Everyone in the family agreed it tasted delicious. It was a nice blend of dark chocolate and truffle. The texture is creamy. Maybe Escape Monthly will include an Arizona food item whenever it does an Idaho box? Is there no food companies in Arizona?

Verdict: I am disappointed in the box. Only a few items are from Arizona. Are there no spa companies or food companies in Arizona? I find that hard to believe. The theme should have been labeled the Hot West or something similar.  I canceled my subscription upon receipt of the box.

First let me say… Sub Bella is on fire posting all these reviews today! I imagine it feels good to get these accomplished – I know how much work you (and all the Subsistas) put into this. 🙂

I don’t hate the items in the box but I can see how it’s a little misleading / disappointing for sure. Only 2 of the items made in AZ that you know of – since the jewelry & pouf don’t say… I assume the pouf was just loose with no packaging? That can always feel a little weird especially with personal hygiene products. The jewelry looks pretty i the photo even though it came in a plastic baggie… is it decent quality or seem cheapo? Plus the coffee mug made in China which a lot of people aren’t fans of – but worse for me is that it’s not dishwasher safe. 🙁

At least you got the yummy dark chocolate truffle bar! Even if it was from Idaho.

I don’t think you are harsh, this box missed the mark. There are amazing jewelry, pottery, textiles, food like salsa, spices from Arizona. Thank you for your time.

I am SO glad you reviewed this box, this is one I keep thinking should be a GREAT box and I keep thinking of subscribing to it. THANK YOU< you just saved me some money 🙂 This box is just not worth it. Don't need stuff not from the place, that is just wrong – esp for how they portray the box.
