Disclosure: This box was paid for by me. There is a referral link.
Subscription: Fandom of the Month Club
Cost: $13/month, but with coupon code NEWMEMBER you can save $3 on the first box, but then shipping is $3.29ish, so free shipping!
What to Expect: Every month your high quality, fandom inspired designs will be delivered by owl (or mailman) to your doorstep!
This post is way late because I could not get the pictures to upload last month and just remembered I hadn’t posted several reviews! Sorry…. On the bright side, this was the one day over the past month where it wasn’t overcast/raining, so I headed outdoors to take pictures!
Anyway, this looked like a neat box and I wanted to try it out. I’m not much of a fangirl of anything, but that doesn’t mean I’m not a dork/nerd! Plus, the stuff I do love [X-Files, Jessica Jones, Orphan Black] aren’t often featured aside from comic books.
I thought I got a tiny OwlCrate box! This came right after I got the OwlCrate November box, so I was confused at first.
I love all the fun stuff written all over this box.
A yin and yang pink cake??
Fandom Magnet: This was a fun little inclusion. I threw it up on the fridge right away. The only one I’ve read/watched is wizards–Harry Potter. My mom liked Divergent though, so I’ll probably read that.
Ohhh fancy one year anniversary bag. I put it in my drawer of little sub bags. Doesn’t everyone keep bags and boxes stashed places?? I have a bag of gift bags to reuse…
I might be a hoarder…
Doctor Who TARDIS Ring: It’s adjustable. I never got into Doctor Who, but nannied for a girl who luuurved it! Probably one of the few things I’ve seen where David Tennant is not super creepy. Can I bring up Jessica Jones again?? It’s seriously so good. I’ve gotten so many people hooked on it… so… go turn on your Netflix and watch!!
Mockingjay Keychain: Very lightweight piece. I think that’s good for your keychain weight. I’ve never seen or read the Hunger Games though.
Post apocalyptic stuff gives me horrible anxiety.
Lost Necklace: It says “NOT PENNYS BOAT” I had to look up what this necklace meant. I never watched Lost, so the reference is lost on me.
I also lack a secret snack trapdoor. Sad taco emoji.
Silver Dragon Earrings: These are super cute! They’re nice and small and I’m guessing they were made for the box. I wish these were real silver so I could wear these!!
Harry Potter Fandom Bookmark: It looks like the Deathly Hallows symbol, a feather [pen perhaps?], and a golden snitch with wings. I like it, and I’m just guessing it’s a bookmark because there was no note. I tried putting it in a book and I didn’t like what it was doing to the spine, so if anyone has any idea what to do with it let me know!
I love this picture! The moss here looks so pretty.
All together now!
Verdict: This box wasn’t really for me, but this is a great teen fandom box!! I really like the idea of it, and used to work with teenage girls who would adore this sort of thing. Honestly, if I watched and read these fandoms I’d be jazzed as well. Overall, I think it’s a good price for the contents received. The Harry Potter bookmark and the magnet were the only items I kept, the rest will be given to people who love them!
I like how Sub Bella includes a picture of her subscription box from past reviews, so I thought I’d put this in! I noticed my fancy bookshelf was pretty sub-tastic! Soundless from OwlCrate, In the Unlikely Event from PSMH, a teacup from Eucopia [I use it daily now], and my magic HP wand thing!
What do you think? Are there any fandoms you follow that you’d want to see in this box? Let us know!
