MyIrelandBox Subscription Box Review – December 2015

Disclosure: This box was paid for by me. There are no affiliate links in this post

I’ve been reading reviews on MyIrelandBox for over a year. I decided to purchase a 3-month subscription to enjoy over the holiday season

Subscription: MyIrelandBox

Cost: $45.00 plus $10.50 shipping for a single box or monthly subscription. I ordered the three month subscription – $125.10 plus $31.50 for shipping. I know we hate paying for shipping. It is shipping directly from Ireland. The shipping cost is similar to what most of the geeky/gaming boxes are charging.

What to Expect:  A monthly subscription box could contain accessories, stationary, home good, and/or jewelry. It may be one large item or 2-4 small items in the box.

Note: The January New Year MyIrelandBox is on sale now. The link will take you to a one time purchase. You can also start your subscription with the January box. The Sheep Box is back in stock!!!

Green tissue paper

The green tissue paper is festive and Irish at the same time. I love the color!

Thank You
Surprise Yourself!

That is exactly what I am doing! I’ve wanted to order this box for over a year. I’m enjoying my subscription. The card also holds the 3-page letter describing the items in the box. I enjoyed reading the letter. It explains the products and why they were chosen to be in the box.

Calendar
Real Ireland Design Calendar – County Wicklow

RealIreland Slim People + Landscape Calendar 2016: The beautiful photos were taken by renowned photographer Liam Blake.

The calendar came with a mailer allowing for easy gifting. I will be keeping the calendar because the photos are spectacular.

Inside the Calender
Inside the Calendar

There is information about Liam Blake and Ireland on the inside front cover. I like that they included a map showing the location of the landscapes for each month. I find it helpful because I am not familiar with Ireland.

Back Cover
The Back Cover

The back cover shows the beautiful photos included in the calendar. I can’t decide which photo is my favorite.  January reminds me of the farm. Many times the bottom of the mountain will not have snow. The farm is at a higher attitude and will have snow. I will be driving up there and see the gradual progression of no snow to a few feet or more of snow. I don’t think the farm will see much snow this winter.

I’ll be enjoying Ireland month by month!

Woolly Pig Designs: The Woolly Pig Designs page is being updated. MyIrelandBox discovered Rachel Gilsenan, owner of Wolly Pig Designs,  on Instagram. She creates knitted toys and homeware designs.

mibd10The Woolly Pig Designs Facebook has pictures of her work. Is MyIrelandBox the special order?

On the tree
On the tree

I placed it high on the tree out of the reach of kitty paws. They haven’t shown much interest in climbing the Christmas tree this year. I love the little cottage! I smile when I see it.

I always wanted a little cottage in the woods.

The Wool Felt Shop: I saw the baubles and wonder if it was from the same company that made the sheep. Yes!

I wasn’t too sure how they will look on the tree. They look great! I placed them out of the reach of kitty paws. I love the little touches of Ireland on the tree.

I want to play with the baubles!

John Hanly & Co Scarf - County Tipperary
John Hanly & Co Scarf – County Tipperary

John Hanly & Co Scarf: I think the scarf is exclusive to MyIrelandBox. They selected green to make it festive and to represent Ireland. It’s warm and soft.

It’s made out of 95% merino wool and 5% cashmere. It’s a beautiful scarf and perfect for me! It’s long enough and wide enough to protect my face and neck from the cold winds.

No windswept cheeks for me!

Frost on a dandelion

I took this picture several days ago. The frost was starting to melt when I went outside for pictures.

Verdict: I love this month’s box.  The ornaments are on the tree, the calendar will be used in a few weeks, and the scarf will be used. I am looking forward to seeing what January’s box brings.

July Sheep Box

MyIrelandBox July Box: I purchased the box as a  one time purchased. I gave the sheep and the notebook to my husband as birthday gifts. I kept the postcard for my enjoyment. I’ve been sending out notecards in the mail.

Of course you know I will comment on your balls! It reads like you can toss them in your dryer after the holidays! I would think for an ornament that they would only give one but I think it humorous as other Subista sistas txt they gave you a pair 😉

So many things to love in this review! (Including Pnut’s comment – lol)

I’m leaning toward May or June as my favorite picture in the calendar. I also love your dandelion photo! And that scarf looks great! I love green.

SubBella, all I really want out of life is a cottage in the woods (and an unhealthy amount of alone time).
