Eucopia Mini Subscription Box Review – December 2015

Subscription: Eucopia Mini

Cost: $15 Eucopia Mini and $49 for Eucopia

What to Expect: Mini–A single item every month: beautiful, useful, interesting, and designed in Europe. Regular–A monthly themed selection of 3-5 items to help you live like a European, wherever you are.

This is my second mini box from Eucopia. Over the summer I purchased the beta box, then they held an Indiegogo campaign and got 143% funded, and November kicked off their first official box.

Theme: Gifts [you can buy the full boxes 1+2 for $59, normally $49 each]

Eucopia has a special red box with a bird logo on the top. In November and December, both mini shipments were sent in nondescript packaging. Perhaps in future boxes they will create a specialized mini box.

Lovi Bird: 12,50 €, or $13.62. “Wooden bird. Assemble yourself or send as a gift! Postcard-like package. Illustrated instructions inside the package.”

So, I am terrible at following directions. They took me a long time to figure out… the third box in each row is supposed to be the view from the back when you’re shoving the panel in.

Voila!

Bella had to taste the bird. Then she threw it into the door! Haha, if only she was that ferocious with spiders.

I put the bird up near the top of the tree, safe from Bella’s munching fangs. McBoyfriend packed the tree away today, so I guess I won’t see this bird again for 11 months.

January sneak peek, Ceramics theme:

Verdict: Eucopia promises to send European designed items, and this Lovi Bird is from Finland. The bird took me about 20 minutes to figure out. This isn’t an item I would’ve purchased, and while I paid $15 for two boxes, this and the other item came out to well over that, but this particular item is less than the $15 paid. I sort of wish they had sent one of the mugs from the full box instead–it’s the same price and something I’d use a lot!

I was a little frustrated because I’ve tried emailing a couple times with questions, and have yet to receive a response. This is a new box, and their social media areas are also pretty quiet, so I hope things pick up! I know a lot of people wanted a European box, so I look forward to seeing what they come up with. January’s Ceramics theme sounds really tempting. I may have to see the full box.

Are you good at instructions? Can you do my homework?

This isn’t normally a DIY box, is it? Not sure I’d be too happy with getting a little bird that I had to put together… It’s kinda cute though.

On an unrelated note, 2 Target boxes are up for grabs this morning! I just ordered mine – hope you west coasters can them before they sell out if you want them!

You will have to let me know how the target boxes are!! I never order them on principles of shipping. They always want to charge me $10 to ship to Hawaii. So I boycott.

Somehow I only think clearly and rationally about subscription boxes when it comes to shipping….

I can re ship to you. So if there is anything you like I can pop it in the mail the next day. I’ll bust it out flat rate for the win.

hmmmmm… it is like you are singing to me, “A whole new world…. a new fantastic point of view…”

Heat, it’s just European designed products but this one was themed “gift”, so perhaps I was supposed to gift it to someone to do??

It’s interesting…it seems more origami/Asian than European. It looks good on the Christmas tree though.

I just saw the cake cutter. I am thinking you should make some type of layer cake! This box looks interesting. Maybe they should advertise this bird as a cat toy! It looks like Bella loves it!!
