3b (Beauty Beyond Borders) Subscription Review – February 2016

3b stands for Beauty Beyond Borders and is a beauty subscription that seeks to bring you the best in Asian beauty and perhaps products in general.  I have heard a ton about these types of items and so decided why not give this box a whirl because it was $12 which isn’t too much of a monthly gamble for me. I mean, all I have to do is get a cheaper bottle of wine or two and the budget it all good!

There is a waitlist to sign up. If you decide you are interested I suggest you get on it and they will email you to tell you when a spot opens up. I think I waited over a month. It is not like the fake Ipsy waitlist!

Oddly, I noticed that they say the $12 subscription also includes “Unlimited access to our team to answer any questions you might have.” This to me feels like a challenge of sorts. Wouldn’t it be funny if I started writing this team all sorts of odd questions? I wonder what kind of relationship advice they give!

The box… Shhhh it has a bag inside!

The bag (I reuse the organza bag for gifting)

Lioele – Eyelash Curler: I actually do need one of these… I mean in the fantasy world where I actually take the time to care about how my thin blonde tipped lashes look. Usually I just give up and MAYBE put on mascara. My eyes are really large giving me a “bug eyed” look. So I think I sort of sneak by in life…

I have a secret fear of using this type of tool after those who got one in Ipsy reported a ummm malfunction…

Benton – Snail Bee High Content Steam Cream: I am always a little curious about Snail products. I just kinda wonder if it is really worth the whole thing. Same thing about the bee venom.  But then again, I have pours you could hear the ocean in so, maybe I should just stay out of the skincare debate.

Camilla the hen says snails are best saved for eating in garlic and butter!

Leaders – Black Aqua Pore Scaling Mask: I dig these types of masks as you may or may not know. I am gross and love the idea of getting all the gunk out of my pours. Oh if only a product could REALLY do that! I would buy all of it! ALL OF IT! I haven’t tried this one yet, but when I do, I will report back if it is life changing.

How do they collect the volcanic ash do you think?

Etude House – Look At My Eyes (Cafe Eyeshadow): This is meant to give you the “no make up look.” Which is an idea I never have full wrapped my head around. I have even watched tutorials where women put on a ton of make up and then they look awesome like they just woke up pretty. So I mean I understand in a way, I just feel like it is so much work for a look that maybe you could get by just drinking water and getting lots of sleep?

I dunno, I don’t do either so it is just a guess…

Verdict: This isn’t the most fun month for this bag but I still find it a lot of fun. I did see a few bloggers actually look up the value and find that it was about the same as the cost of the bag. I still get more value out of it because it is fun to try out things I wouldn’t normally try and it isn’t like I had to pay shipping. Still past months have been a lot more fun. Still not too bad though!

Disclosure: I bought this myself and no affiliate/referral links can be found in it!

I am not sure whether I can get into applying snails to ma face. It took a lomg time before I convinced myself to nom snails. The copious amount of warmed butter and side of warm soft bread helped.
    *goes off to nom something*
