Blueberry Cove Beads Subscription Box Review – December 2015

Subscription: Blueberry Cove Beads

Cost: $22/month with $5 shipping, for a total of $27/month.

What to Expect: Themed monthly boxes with jewelry making items. In the past they’ve sent threads, wires, chains, hooks, pins, as well as beads, charms, filigrees, and more.

Do you ever look through your phone and find pictures you totally forgot you took?? I just found these pictures of my Blueberry Cove Beads box from December! It was my last box from them, and I totally forgot about it because I got it right before Christmas when everything was hectic. It’s still on my desk in the bag. Oops…

I like the boxes. They’re slender and warn you not to slice open your bead bag! [which is a black satin sack with a carved wood tag]

Blueberry Cove Beads December Theme

December Theme: Abstract colours [based off of the painting on the left].

The Challenge: Make a necklace with at least 3 different beads from the box.

One of my favorite things about this box is the Facebook community–people share what they made from their box and are entered into a monthly competition to win their next month free. A good way to get participation and to see what other subscribers came up with!

In the picture you can see the “igloos” I had my nieces make while auntie was busy taking pictures =)

Blueberry Cove Beads December strands

Two strands of stones. I love the colors!

Blueberry Cove Beads December beads

All sorts of lovely beads!

The beads match the painting quite well! I cannot find the actual list on the Blueberry Cove website, so I’m not even going to guess what most of these items are. I think that was one of my frustrations–after getting the box you have to wait a month before the list of inclusions are posted online. I wish they would just be sent out in the box so you know right away–especially helpful when mysterious findings are included.

Verdict: This was my last box because I have gotten quite the stash over the past couple of years and I have very little free time to do bead stuff right now. Plus, I think from now on I’d prefer to pick out a few strands or individual beads from a craft chain or a local bead shop so that my stash doesn’t get too ridiculous!

What do you think? Does anyone else make jewelry or subscribe to Blueberry Cove Beads?

The 2 strands of beads look gorgeous as is!

Can you tell me more about them igloos? First, I thought it was a nom treat but then the lego threw me off.

I have dabbled with jewelry making! I took some classes at Beadniks a small chain in Chicago but the have a few elsewhere. The girls have few of my baubles that are not pearls or semi-precious stones. When my Pnut people are less wee, I am looking forward to having them create jewelry and hopefully make some mother-daughter jewelry!

Aww I like the mother daughter jewelry making! I tried making stuff with my nieces but mostly it was “auntie auntie you do this.”

The igloos were a nom. It’s a cup covered in frosting and the toppings are all from the candy bulk bins and some cereal. The Legos are candy pieces too! I was going to use marshmallows but I found all their gingerbread house candies so I decoded to use those instead.

Beautiful beads, I used to make jewelry too, but no time between crazy work and house stuff now. Thanks for review.
