This box is unique. It gives you the opportunity to use your subscription box dollars for a higher purpose. Purchasing this box provides you access to unique jewelry and handmade items while providing work to 3rd world artisans. This box was a gift to me from the beautiful and talented Subscriptionista.

So the blessings are flowing like a river already!

I was really excited to get this box. I love all things handmade and jewelry related. I have an affinity for seeds and wooden beads partly from my home and partly from my travels. One of my favorite pairs of earrings are ones that I bought in Nicaragua crafted from red and brown seeds.

This months inspiration is Kenya!

20160212_112831-1This info card gives information on the artisians and the Cause of the Month. As you can see, this months Cause was providing deworming treatment for 1500 children. Isn’t that amazing? Did you know that most of us live with parasites? And a rudimentary treatment is the mixture of 2 tablespoons ground papaya seeds and honey.

My in-laws have tried it……… it worked……. they saw evidence….

On the left you can see that they give a breakdown of items inside the box. Now lets take a look see!

Twisted Salad Servers:

These salad servers are 9 inches long by 2 3/4″ across the spoon area. They feel dense and substantial in your hand. My favorite part? They work great! The cupping portion of the tongs is deep and so it allows you to get a good hold on your salad. I am going to fashion a way to hang them on my kitchen wall because they are so pretty!

They are so substantial that I could also use them to fend off burglars…. or at least people trying to steal cookie dough

I wanted to include this picture to show the care they took to make sure these items were carefully packaged! These are made with bone which could easily break in transport.

Bone and Wooden Bead Bracelet

This bracelet is fitted with elastic so it slips on easy. It is roomy and slides on the arm nicely. It is great neutral colors and pretty much goes with everything I own.

Goes with everything is a remark I have never uttered about statement necklaces…..I have come to the conclusion I was not meant to make statements with necklaces….

I do kinda wonder where the bone comes from…..20160212_113009-1
Small Bone Spreader:

This piece feels so beautiful in your hand. It is 4 and 3/4 inches long. The batik design per the info card is created by protecting the white portion with wax and dipping the spreader into dye. I am a goat cheese fanatic and I always serve it when guests come over so this baby is going to be a star in my kitchen!

My excess consumption of goat cheese is what allows me insight into their psyche and their devious plots to cause chaos in the world of sub boxes….

Survey Says:

I have actually been watching this box for awhile now as a FB friend gets it. I think the items they send are unique and it is an amazing feeling knowing that part of your obsession is actually doing something good. For $29 a box, I feel like the value is solid. What do you guys think? Have you heard of this box before?

As an half-filipino, I always thought the giant spoon and fork in the kitchen wall was a pinoy thing and there was an article I read ages ago talking about it. So I was trying to find it and discovering it is an multicultural Hawaiian/filipino/chinese thing. If you do put them on the wall take a pict! Bonus points if you get a gecko checking it out!

That bone spreader can be used for making crisp folds on paper. Not sure why but bone products work wonders for artsy projects.

Nothing wrong with cheese at 1am Onderria. More nuitritous than chocolate 😉
