Subista was so kind to give me a gift certificate to Home Chef. I must show my cooking skills to everyone. Well you all are in for a surprise! Because I have a hungry hubbie with three growing picky Pnut people (myself included), I need to fashion out our meals to accommodate everyone. So you will likely see IN REAL LIFE, one meal serving as planned by Home Chef for my husband and the other serving done Pnut style. I have not seen a review like this so I think it would be a nice perspective on how to stretch meals to feed a family of 2 adults and 3 little Pnut people. Of course, this would not work if my Pnut people were teenagers lol.

This is Part 2, the unboxing of my first Home Chef box. I will be reviewing each entree in separate posts. For some reason, food makes me write more. See Part 1 here!

First boxes come with a Home Chef binder where you can put your recipes in. It is very nice to note that the binder plus the recipe inserts are all washable from the mess you can potentially create by cooking.

Vosges is a fancy place in Chicago here where the chocolate has spices and is very nommy.

Is bacon a spice? It should be. I digress…

Upon a review of Home Chef further, they are an Illinois company and their vendors are from Illinois so that is cool that I am supporting small businesses!

I plan on keeping at least one cooler and will keep all the ice packs. I will try to make this packaging into another In Real Life post when I use it! I think they will be perfect for farmers market when it is not sub-zero as it is here in Chicago right now…

    This is going to sound dumb but do they recommend which stuff to cook first based on perishables? Like cook the shrimp first because the pork chops last longer or etc…

      Yup! Its’s on the recipe card. I will take an up close and personal photo of the recipe card on my recipe reviews. I believe the seafood entrees are marked 3 days. The fish vender also serves many Chicago restaurants including nommy sushi restaurants so it is a treat!

      Also on the card are drink recommendations and I made sure to try to take a picture of what I was drinking. I will keep that suspense reveal for the reviews 😉

    I made a Home Chef meal last night (some soup type thing with shrimp that my husband loved!) and tonight was yummy enchiladas. So happy with this sub!!

      Sounds nommy Heat! I am loving the convenience of having Home Chef. Also most of the items are sourced locally so it pays for itself if we were to goto farmers market to get the majority of the ingrediants (or going to Whole Paycheck). I love farmers markets but the meat is so expensive and this is where Home Chef shines.
