Boxycharm Subscription Box Review – March 2016

Boxycharm is a beauty subscription that costs $21 and usually sends out a really good value box. Of course it depends really if you are interested in the items or not. The make up is usually not super high end but it does include mostly all full size items. I like that they have more accessible brands and find the value to always be there for me personally. Even if I try out something I don’t like it is usually worth a good belly laugh.

Makeup Geek – Pressed Eyeshadow Pan (Cocoa Bear and Mai Tai): These pans are generous in size and from a brand that is getting good reviews. I am not in love with the colors I have been sent. I just have a different sort of coloring that while, allows me to wear them, makes it unlikely that I actually will. It is a classic case of luck of the draw. I think that there will probably be some up for swap of colors I do like. I just am so lazy you know? Plus, I don’t want to sit there and have to put up with anyone trying to sell me Julep polish for its full price like I some fool.

These are pans that you can pop in to a pallet, or if you are like me you will just sort of place them around like art that you can wear!

Ofra – Body Illuminizer: I KNEW I would be sent this brand. I just KNEW it. I thought to myself when I saw the spoilers “Golly gee, I sure don’t want THAT one.” Then the second after that though, “Crap! Now I will be sent it!” The product is large and really I DO use bronzer on my legs at night to try to get that slim sun kissed look my legs don’t seem to want to get. I have no used this yet because I am seriously underwater with work and trying to get everything done for the blog. So maybe I will pack this and get back to you all!

Once I used self tanner on my legs and had two huge white spots behind my knees because ummm I didn’t put it there. Looked totally weird!

Luxie – Brush: I need more brushes! I love to have replacements. Though there is going to be a big wash day coming soon because I have so many that I just kinda put off to the side. Anyway, This is a soft brush with a long handle so it feels like you are almost doing someone else’s face makeup!

I think it will take me a whole day to wash all my brushes. I know I know, I will do it…

Catherine Malandrino – Style de Paris: I got this sample in a past Birchbox, and am not a fan of it. I am not picky, but this one is way to floral for me. I am not the type to carry it. I know others might like it,so maybe it just doesn’t smell good on my skin? This is a pretty big sample and so I will tuck it into my big box of scents to give to other women who want to try out a new smell!

I REALLY want to smell like my cat does when she is asleep. She has such a sweet and subtle huff. Recommended!

Chella – Tantalizing Taupe Eyebrow Color: I think I have one of these laying about my very cluttered “blogging office.” I don’t ever “do” my brows and honestly I REALLY should. I have thin brows due to my thin hair all over type of fur pattern. Plus I only really like ONE of my brows. The other one could do well to be a bit better about finding an arch! I will see how dark this is and if I can’t use it on my lightish brows then I will use it as an eyeliner.

Of I could send it to Malibox Junkie for her to use in her Pet Art!

Verdict: While not my favorite this month was a solid value to those who are not super picky about what they get. There were different variations. A few people even scored some $145 eye cream! I don’t really care about all that stuff personally because I am soooo zen right? Ok, I actually don’t mind because I have all these fancy creams piling up anyway. Better to go to someone who really would be excited!

ALSO: Last month I snoozed it and didn’t review the box. But it was REALLY good. So Ya win some you kinda sorta maybe lose some…

I really need to wash all my make-up brushes too!! I wait way too long… I’ve been reading up on ways to clean them (without buying a brush cleanser – which I would LOVE to get in a sub box) – baby shampoo vs. hydrogen peroxide vs. vinegar… I’ll figure it out.
