I wonder if Nina’s now April box will have something “festival” theme. Maybe this year I will goto Ravinia. I have friends that live within walking distance with a driveway.

Washing hair is over-rated… I try not to do it more than twice per week. 🙂

I once met a girl who told me she wasn’t into people who went to “festies”, so whenever you talk about “festival style” I get this smarmy voice in my head that says stuff like, “omg did you go to that festie last weekend?”

The rosemary oil sounds fabulous! For bread mostly… I love bread… plus we have a huge rosemary bush in my front yard and I love using it for potatoes. Though, I apparently tried to kill us a few weeks ago when I grabbed a flowering branch, because I guess the flowers are poisonous!

Same here! Rosemary just calls out for olive oil, garlic, and warm bread. Yes for some reason I feel the people who invented the term festival style have never been to a festival. Can you really have style when you are covered in sweat, dirt and beer? And if you arn’t covered in sweat, dirt and beer than what kind of festival is it?!?

Heh, I think it’s just another name for “boho chic.” Though, I prefer boho chic to festival style, because the latter also conjures up images of dirty, sweaty, high people that I would rather stay away from in the comfort of my home where I can play any music I want for free. To each their own, right? I see the appeal, but I also hate crowds and being dirty. ::hides in shower::

Ravinia is different. Some events are “pot smoked, stinky, dirty”, some are yuppie, and some are for kids. I have not been but I should go to at least a kid one. I do want to get lawn tickets and sit in the back with the families $10 to listen to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra we stopped going to free events at Millenium Park when we had kids because it gets crowded (and the bathroom factor). My friends live walking distance so there is a clean toilet right there lol!

haha! In my early twenties I lived in San Antonio so we had access to tons of festivals and cool music shows (like lilith fair) and so I loved going then. But now I am a hermit who hates crowds and prefers not to stand for hours in the heat….no matter how much beer there is. (I am still on the hunt for the tequila beer!!!!)
