Look What I Bought: A Fighting Bunny + Birchbox “Why Not … Stay In?” LE Box Review

So for some reason I am on a Sleeping Eye Mask kick. I am still envious of the sleeping eye mask from Randomly Huffington’s box (Hey you Nina’s intern are you still sending your March box in March?)! So when Birchbox came up with an LE box with a sleeping mask I hesistated. I wanted to save up more points.

But then Birchbox had the nerve to offer an awesome offer “Free 2015 mystery Birchbox with $50 offer”. I mean how dare they!!! And THEN there was a 20% leap year code that I did not use before. That LE box will be all mine now all I needed was to find something over $5 so I can exceed $50 dollars.

And then I found this “fighting” bunny. Twist my arm…

image
Umbra Anigram Bunny

As you all know I take to Petit Vour’s bunnies as fighting bunnies (just siblings staring each other down for possession of the shield they are both holding). I would have hoped that the Bunny would have came in a box.

Something this cute needs cute packaging!

But the important thing was that the cute bunny was able to hold rings on its ears and its tail. So cute.

Here is the first peek of my haul!

Let’s attack the LE box first!

And now…

Socks! I had to dig in and get this to start my review.

It’s nice to have warm feet whilst blogging.

Richer Poorer Striped Fuzzy Socks

Richer Poorer Striped Fuzzy Socks: so fuzzy and had grippy dots they went straight on ma feet. These are made from microfiber, the same material used for cleaning. So I not only keep ma feet warm, I also clean the floor.

I love to multi-task!

That is Squeakette’s succulent foot as she hopped in her bouncer on the upper left photobombing my photo.

I feel like I am channeling my inner Onderria!

The Body Shop Shea Butter Body Scrub

The Body Shop Shea Butter Body Scrub: ahhh memories of my high school days where I would buy parabens care-free. Now I just use paraben items from sub boxes I do not go out to buy em I prefer natural stuff. Anyways I do love this scrub it gives the grit that reminds me of St. Ives Apricot face scrub (another classic of my teens). But keep in mind that The Body Shop Body Scrub is for body only. Also, the side sticker was peeling off I think some of the product leaked but fortunately I did not notice any leaking issues in the box other than that sticker. And the sticker on top is removable. So you can reuse the packaging without any indicators of what was there before. I love that.

I can’t believe I used to use St. Ives Apricot on ma face.

Amika Nourishing Mask

Amika Nourishing Mask: This Amika Nourishing Mask is something Birchbox has constantly whored out and something I will readily accept with open arms. This is one of my favorite conditioners and if I ever ran out of sub box conditioners, this would be the one I would buy with Birchbox points.

Nails Inc. Nailkale Superfood Base Coat
Nails Inc. Nailkale Superfood Base Coat

Nails Inc. Nailkale Superfood Base Coat: Who knew you could feed your nails kale? The treatment gives a very high gloss that I love.

Nails Inc. Nailkale Nail Polish In Westbourne Park Road

Nails Inc. Nailkale Nail Polish In Westbourne Park Road:  Love the solid color that is Westbourne Park Road it makes me feel like a classic Brit (in my mind but I would hope a classic Brit would approve) although it did not dry in 45 seconds. Even though it smudged it is not apparent due to the closeness of my skin tone with Westbourne Park Road. I still have one side still manicured and the other one hand with only the treatment as of this post.

This may be my run and dash nail polish!

Wei Multitask Multi-Mask Collection

Wei Multitask Multi-Mask Collection: Ooohhhh mask pods! I love tiny one use samples packaged in pods it is so cute versus foils. I just tried out the brown sugar and now I have a craving for brown sugar oatmeal in my mouth to compliment my freshly brown sugar masked face!

image
Wei Multitask Multi-Mask Collection

And more importantly I am excited to receive my first official mask brush to use for my mask application so I feel a little fancier whilst looking like Shrek.

Sings “I Wei fancy!” *chuckles*

Kocostar Nail Therapy

Kocostar Nail Therapy: I need to save this for an evening when everyone is asleep and I suffer a bit of insomnia. When I have insomnia, I find if I do my nails I tend to pass out because I am lying down and forced not to move my hands so I don’t ruin my mani.

Maybe my TMI may help you!

TokyoMilk French Kiss Candle Tin

TokyoMilk French Kiss Candle Tin: Oh jeeze how could I forget the second temptress of Birchbox’s “Why Not . . . Stay In?” box was the candle since I am also on a candle kick! But here we have a TokyoMilk candle! What a treat! I was always curious to try out this brand and Birchbox has treated me in its LE Box. I love the jasminy scent!

Stephanie Johnson Eye Mask

And now the Piece De Resistance!

image
Stephanie Johnson Eye Mask

Stephanie Johnson Eye Mask: I am going to break this baby in before I start raving for it. She is pretty.

Anti-climatic.

Hopefully Pipsqueak won’t find her and stretch her out.

Birchbox “Why Not . . . Stay In?” LE Box Group Shot (sans socks which where on my feet at the time of photo op)!

Now for the finale group shot of the main event LE box! I thought I had everything but I knda did. I was wearing the socks when I took the picture!

Verdict: Win!

And now my bonus box with over $50 purchase…

November 2015 Birchbox

A November 2015 Birchbox Box

image

I love it (the box lol and the items) but I think its funny on how Birchbox gave the impression of variation and I have not seen anyone with a different box other than the November box!

Bulk Villagers might be villaging angrily! #bulkchampagneproblems

Ayers Body Polish

Ayers Body Polish: Compared to the body shop course scrub the grains in Ayers Body Polish are a medium/fine grain and the scrub leaves a moisturizing feeling. *sings off-key to the tune “you lost that loving feeling”

I love that scrubbing feeling!

Davies This Is A Relaxing Moisturizing Fluid

Davies This Is A Relaxing Moisturizing Fluid: This Davies This Is A Relaxing Moisturizing Fluid goes in my frizz-proof stash. For some reason either Davines changed its packaging I was not expecting the packaging to look un-sleek if that makes sense.

Dr. Jart+ Water Replenishment Mask

Dr jart+ Water Replenishment Mask: Off to the refrigerator of army of sheet mask it goes. I have to say I have been using my stash of sheet masks due to our blog so that is a good thing.

I save these masks for late night so I do not scare any family members.

LOC One & Done Shadow Stick – On Point

LOC One & Done Shadow Stick – On Point

Like my original November 2015 Birchbox in where everyone was stuck with a LOC makeup crayon stick, I am passing this to Subista who likes this mode of application.

I like my crayons to color on paper, not ma face.

theBalm cosmetics FratBoy Blush

theBalm cosmetics FratBoy Blush: OMG so cute. I do not even care that its a tiny sample it is so lovely packaged! This will meet its other half, my Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter/eyeshadow from a previous Birchbox.

Maybe they will make sample babies…

Birchbox November 2015 – Group Shot

Finale Verdict: I LOVE my Birchbox haul! So many goodies with 20% off code and bonus box. I paid a little over $20 clams with points and the 20% off Leap Year code after everything was said and done.

Disclaimer: Haul was bought with Birchbox points and my own clams. There are no referral/affiliate links to this post.

Sample babies! If those theBalm products made babies, they’d be the tiniest, most adorable (and useless) samples ever!

This whole post is so awesome!! Full of awesomeness… multi-tasking – ha!

I want those Wei mask pods and brush!! Jealous. (Shrek! *snorts)

I want those pods and brush too!

      • March 5, 2016 at 9:35 am

I think a cheapo foundation brush can be a great substitute!

    • March 5, 2016 at 9:32 am

Thanks Heat for your awesomeness! I know like how could anyone raise a pitchfork at a wee cutely package theBalm sample. Its like it has two huge eyes like saucers saying “love me”!

I always tell people that if they don’t want their parabens, send ’em my way! I’ll use em all! Lol.

Mmmm body scrubs. Those look lovely. I can’t get a scrub, even a gentle one, anywhere near my face since I’m on tretinoin and now my face wants to be babied. Buuuuut, my poor feetsies! And legs. And butt. All love a good scrubbing!

I am officially saving all my parabens for you!!

        My hero! LOL

        Mailbox Junkie to the rescue!

    • March 5, 2016 at 9:30 am

I love me some scrubs too! But now I feel sadness for you, as a fellow scrubber, that you cannot use a scrub on your face. I washcloth or muslin doesn’t cut it.

Scrubs on the feet really don’t do anything for me. Mailbox Junkie again came to the rescue and suggested a microplane foot paddle from the Amazon. I bought it and baby it was huge but it conquered my unsucculent feet.

I love me some body scrubs too. Can’t get enough. Sub Bella is an addict too!

      • March 5, 2016 at 3:28 pm

My face has hit the point that I have to be careful with a washcloth or it will sting! Ah well, to help get rid of my acne it’s worth it to be on the retinoid!

        • March 5, 2016 at 4:14 pm

Oh you are on the retinol? That miracle fountain of needleless youth worker of wrinkles also fights off acne? Awesome sauce.

I love this review! I’ve been sick and living under a rock. I don’t know how I missed this box. A mask brush? Cute pods?

I remember my Body Shop and St Ives days 🙂

    • March 5, 2016 at 9:25 am

Oh Sub Bella I hope you get better soon since it is getting warmer and you need those gorgeous curly red locks of yours to emerge from a rock made of blingly subscription crystals! *hugs* thanks for commenting!

My husband took the family on his business trip to a warm place last week. It helped a lot. I’m not 100% better, but much better than before.

        • March 5, 2016 at 4:15 pm

Sunshine always helps 🙂 Think some warm weather from the West is heading our way!

I wax tempted to get this same deal with my points and 20% off, but I only wanted the mask and the candle. The socks, obviously too haha!

I wish Birchbox would send me more face sheets. Have they been shipping boxes earlier? I got a notification Friday, and I don’t remember them sending out so early! I like it.

    • March 7, 2016 at 9:42 am

The “curated” boxes ship early. I don’t remember getting a notification email but I just clicked the clicky truck and shipping was initiated last Friday with ETA delivery tomorrow or Wednesday. I got the month’s curated box.

If BB were smart they should do more sheet masks if they want the pricier sheet mask share in the market!

Yea I seriously thought of you when I put on the socks I knew you would approve! I couldn’t sleep last night so I went about matching my Pnut people’s socks. Most of them were Trumpettes (socks that look like shoes). Where do these socks go? I have so many mismatched adrorable socks…
