I am always envious of the cool prints people get in boxes, and I’m slowly building my art collection, so I decided to sign up for an art subscription!

Before getting started, here’s the pricing and size guidelines so you know what size of print to expect. I went for a medium print at $32/month, and some awesome person used my code for $15 off for both of us, so I paid $17 this month.

You do a survey to find out what your art tastes are upon signing up, and unfortunately right now if you want to change your tastes you have to retake your survey as if you were a new customer.

I decided to show the quiz steps this month because I wanted to change my preferences to pick something for my office, and also just in case you’re like, “well, Onderria, this seems complicated.” It’s not!

Unless you are extremely indecisive!

It’s sort of a choose-your-own-adventure. After picking this, you’ll see different choices on the next page.

For my March choice I picked Glamorous, because clearly I am a glam human.

Here I chose the dark, sensuous photo in the bottom right corner. Though, nothing in my house or office looks like that.

For March I chose BOLD, because pizzazz needs to happen.

I am not sure if these differ, but I chose the bottom left.

Both of the mountain images were chosen. I was a little confused though because it made me sign up for a new plan and profile. I hope they change it soon.

After completing your survey and signing up, on the 15th of the month your art curator contacts you to let you pick between three options. These were my three options:

artcrate april choices

A. digital mountains

B. abstract blues

C. plastic bag lungs??

The curator said she tamed down my choices to match my other stuff, but the whole point of retaking the quiz was to use the art in a completely different space. Perhaps that’s another way to improve–allowing users to put different room preferences.

trees

I took my pictures outside because it was so nice! We have this gorgeous tree that must’ve been two patched into one because it blooms pink and white.

artcrate arrived tube

The art used to come in a flat, stiff cardboard envelope, but now it’s a tube.

tchmo mountains

Untitled 20130913a by Tchmo: My piece is 12×18.

I don’t really like the tube because my art is curved now. However, I realized that’s how art is generally stored. The print is nice, but I think I may end up hanging it somewhere in the house because I don’t know when my office will be construction-free. The colors are nice, but not as bold as I wanted.

While editing this I realized this picture was one that I chose from the survey!

I’ll just put this here as a reminder that your house needs more art =) Also, I hope those of you who’ve ordered something share what you got! Share it on Instagram or email us.

Verdict: March was my last month for a while because I have way too much art right now. For now I want to finish framing and hanging pieces that have been sitting sad.

What do you think? Which piece would you have chosen?

I think you subliminally chose the glam room because it has a cocktail and a comfy looking couch! I like the pic. Seems like it could fit a lot of decors as well as be in a grouping

Oh good eye! I’m a big fan of the bottom left room actually. It looks comfy and inviting. I bet it comes with a housekeeper too!
