Organic, sustainable, and local produce whenever possible.
Home Chef is in Chicago where I am so my box does not travel far and I am supporting local businesses!
Kick Back and Get Comfortable:
Subista was so kind to give me a gift certificate to Home Chef. I must show my cooking skills to everyone. Well you all are in for a surprise! Because I have a hungry hubbie with three growing picky Pnut people (myself included), I need to fashion out our meals to accommodate everyone. So you will likely see on our IN REAL LIFE, one meal serving as planned by Home Chef for my husband and the other serving done Pnut style. I have not seen a review like this so I think it would be a nice perspective on how to stretch meals to feed a family of 2 adults and 3 little Pnut people. Of course, this would not work if my Pnut people were teenagers lol.
Here is a peek of the unboxing of the recipe!
Hmmm… this is going to be a short and sweet post. I did not take allot of pictures this time. Stay tuned because I just received a new box of Home Chef goodness and I took tons of pictures this time!
For example, I decided that the carrot would be best served raw to my Pnut people. So that is why there is no carrot featured in this review!
My Pnut people are like bunnies! They love carrots!
These are Home Chef leftovers from a previous meal earlier this week of this delivery. It was my portion of my salad. Unless it has bacon and other fattening components (mmmm… Cobb and Chicken Caesar salad), I usually have no interest in salads.
Soup Not Salad!
So with the carrot eaten raw by my [distracted] wee ones, I begin…
It is very important that their cheeks be fed!
Verdict:
The portion of the pork chop was very generous. I am usually good with eyeballing whether a piece of meat can be shared or not. I kept one and it is still in the deep freezer. The pork chop was marvelous. The broccoli mash was heavenly. I am getting into making my own butter mixes inspired by Home Chef meals for other dinners. I could have cared less for the salad but I am allergic to healthy foliage!

That broccoli mash looks amazing! The salad looks really boring. I am a fan of making tasty salad, so if you ever want a good salad recipe let me know.
I planted some asian foilage in my garden. Just because its supposed to be easy to grow lettuce. Not a salad fan unless its got bacon, blue cheese, basically unhealthy, or is a Cobb Salad.
Mmmm I had some yummy bleu cheese the other night. My dad used to feed that to me as a kid, then I hated it, and in my early 20s I rediscovered how tasty it is! I love the tang. Have you had it crumbled on a burger? That’s my brother’s favorite.
Oh yes! Nom.
