BOOM!box Subscription Box Review – April 2016

Subscription: EC BOOM!Box

Cost: $30/month + tax and ships bimonthly [paying for multiple boxes reduces cost up to $5 for a year]. With tax and shipping mine came out to $39.70.

What to Expect: “Nerd Manicures, Makeup & MOAR! Delivered to You Bi-Monthly!”

This is the third box from BOOM!box. It is a bimonthly box with geekery, nerdery, makeup, and glitter! I got this at the beginning of April, but I was really bummed out about the contents, so I’ve been very unmotivated. Sorry =\

Nicely laid out card describing the items and where they came from. I love detailed cards like this! Plus, there’s a makeup tutorial.

boombox april 2016 candy scrub

Rosina Leckermaul’s “Candy Cleanse” Sugar Scrub: $8

I cannot find this shop online, which is odd. Internet presence, guys! This was one item I might’ve kept.

To eat, obviously!

boombox april 2016 eyshadow pigment

Rumpelstiltskin Everything Shadow, “Banshee” Lip Serum, and a Tiny Mixing Pot: $16 as a set

Very neat, but I’m way too lazy to mix a lipstick/gloss and find a brush to apply it. I bet the colors are pretty though!

I do love mermaid scales! These are pretty.

Verdict: The last box ended up being $40 for the tea I kept, and this month I’m keeping nothing. I tried to try and sell it on eBay because I have no interest in keeping this box, but no bites =( After the last two months of having repeat brands, I wasn’t terribly surprised to see much of the same this month, but more from their own line. I suppose it’s nice if you want to try out more Espionage Cosmetics stuff, but I was getting this box to find fun and support glittery geeky brands. On the plus side, the value is almost $70.

I ended up canceling, but I wish them well with this new box! I’ve still been recommending it to people, especially since I know several ladies who went to the Emerald City ComicCon, where I’m sure EC was applying male wraps!

Nail wraps on dudes, duh.

Where my nerds at? What do you think–will you be signing up for glittery nerdiness?

Sorry it did not work out for you. I remember you being excited about the box! I was laughing about the dude wraps. I did have a duh! moment.

Thanks! I was bummed, but I think it’s still a good box for teens or geeky ladies. I was trying to find a link for their guy nail wraps, but they updated their website and took out that link. Ah well.

Ah man, I hate that “you’ve lost that loving $40 feeling”…. Did you list the ebay link on MSA? I also could post it in my FB group and see if there are any bites

Yes, but I decided to just swap it. I’m just not an eBay-er! The mermaid cards are amazing. If I end up splitting the box I’ll send them to you =D
