The Caring Crate – Susie A. Helps Us Help Others!

Susie A, who runs her own blog over hurr:  https://featsfunniesandfailures.com/    (check it out because you obviously like to read!), has provided an AWESOME way for us all to give back while at the same times helping ourselves through her Caring Crate.

Basically, Caring Crate is a very sweet service that provides free boxes lovingly packed for those who need a pick me up. Ladies who might need that little bit of excitement we already enjoy with our various subscriptions.

While, these ladies may or may not have the extra income to buy a subscription, they often are not even thinking about themselves. Nope. They are taking care of their family, their health, and probably not deciding which fancy hand creme to open next.

Here is How Susie explained it to me:

I do not put my name anywhere on the letter (unless it’s actually from me).  How it works is like this:
Say you know a woman going through a difficult time. You send me her name and address. I put together a box and put my standard letter in it. I also put a card that says “You have been encouraged by Elle Subscriptionista and the caring crate”.  So it blesses 3 people. The person receiving the box, the person who requested box and me because sending these out literally saved my life at a time that I didn’t want to live. I pray over every box. And all information is completely confidential. Nobody sees the info but me and my mom!
Each box usually includes: journal, lip balm, hand lotion, socks, nail polish, tissues, hand sanitizer and a charm holder necklace that I put mustard seed in.  I will change things up if people ask. Like, if you tell me your friend loves purple but is going through chemo, I will make sure that the box contains something purple and nothing strongly scented. I’ll add tea bags, jewelry, bubble bath, things like that. Just little stuff (sample or travel sized) to brighten their day!
It’s not saving lives, but it does send a smile and let’s the recipient know that she is cared about!

Here is a letter that give more info on The Caring Crate and how it came about:

Wouldn’t it be fun to get involved?

I thought so!

You can check out The Caring Crate Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/The-caring-crate-353968144799459/timeline

It does cost Susie to send out items so if you wanna send some business to her and make your place smell better than mine… you can send your business to her Scentsy Site: http://adair.scentsy.us/

Thanks again to Susie A for giving us an awesome way to brighten someone’s day!

    Great post!

I gave a care package to my SIL when she was going through cancer treatment and she loved it! She is not normally girlie but she really loved it and said it gave some of her feminity back. I always like to give surprises just to cheer people up and/or a pleasant surprise. Even my husband asks me to give care packages very thoughtful on his end 🙂

*spreads good karma dust all around*

Pnut always with the good vibes!

I was really taken with The caring Crate because I actually know Susie is a real person, and honestly giving stuff away to shelters and such isn’t always as easy as it sounds. Around where k live there are a lot of rules of what they will take and what they won’t. So shampoo and such is a good giveaway they tend not to care for that honey serum or whatever. Some won’t let alcohol be an ingredient.

I try to brighten friends and families day but sometimes I feel like my stuff is a burden. Even my poor boss can’t leave a work trip with me without lugging at least a golden tote or two full of items!

It’s just so nice to know I can have another cubby box (I have ones for each of the bloggers here and those who wrote guest posts, family and friends) but now the caring crate pile of things that are awesome but not useful to me or my group of cosmetic junkies.

I may get from under this pile
      Of stuff yet!

Thank you for the post and the kind comments. I feel kind of weird about it sometimes, but I totally do it for me too! It makes me feel better if that even makes sense. You know how you’re told that giving is better than receiving? Well, I didn’t truly understand that until I sent out my first box.

I feel you. I served in the Peace Corps and it feels so weird but I got so much more out of it then I could ever give.

I think the very fact you feel that way shows how big your heart is and how you are really trying.

And? Honestly? It also shows how much giving good really gets good! It’s so true!

You’re an inspiration and I’m so glad you stepped up to do something this awesome. It’s really moving to me
