That is right. Hippies have hobbies. And those hobbies extend beyond gazing at flowers and drinking kombucha. Occasionally we want to get crafty and bust out the glue guns! That is where The Hippie Hobby box comes in. This is a subscription box dedicated to focusing on DIY projects that can incorporate upcycling or recycled materials. They send you everything you need every other month for a craft that will appeal to your little green heart.

Yep, I love this box! Why…because I love all things hippie…Can’t help it. I blame my birkenstock wearing vegetable growing parents.

Why yes, they do have some of the best packaging in subscription box land! I love the little touch of the stamp that says Handmade with Love!

Yay for recycled packing supplies!!

This month’s project is DIY herbal bath teas. I was super excited to see this theme. These bath teas are everywhere right now as well as facial steams that contain similar ingredients. I have often thought to myself that they would be soooo easy to make. And Hippie Hobby confirms it!

This project is fast, easy and fun unlike a trip to the DMV the day after a 3 day weekend

I personally love that they put the directions in the box. I know we could save paper if you have to look them up online but……I prefer to have them in my hand. One of the things I appreciate about this box is how detailed and easy to follow the directions are.

The Tip portions are for people like me who skim directions….See the bolded words? It is like hey you, direction skimmer, pay attention HERE!!

Here are the supplies:

Survey Says:

This box was a home run for me. First off, it was super easy and fast to make. From start to finish (including the envelopes), it took me about 30 minutes. And truthfully locating an iron was the longest part of the craft (thanks mom!). I absolutely loved the theme of this box. I felt the ingredients included were of high quality. The end product smelled delightful and wrapped in the envelope would make a great ‘I’m thinking of you” gift for a friend. Also if you are thinking to yourself that you don’t have a bath tub or don’t like baths then you could easily just leave out the epsom salts and use this as a facial stem.

This is exactly the kind of craft I hope to get in these kind of boxes. A project that is easy and quick but that you actually want to use, gift or display the finished product. Keep an eye on my Saturday Trash Talk as I intend to try these out this week!

I would ask my bear if he wanted any Elle Oats, when he senses the trap I would throw my bath water on him… its both gross yet healthy methinks…

I do wonder where my iron has gone… do you think it ran off with my lint roller?

Yep I gave up the iron a long time ago with the separating of light and dark clothes….. And I have a feeling your iron prefers to canoodle with the vacuum (its an electrical cord thing).

I love this! I was just thinking about making some a couple of weeks ago. I actually acquired some lavender plants for my garden in preparation for making tea =D I was also looking into making something with our enormous rosemary plant, but I could mostly find scrub recipes. What a good box this month!

Wasn’t it awesome?! Such a fun quick ‘you can’t fail this’ project. I am so excited to share them!! I need your fancy hand writing to label the envelopes though. Also two uses for rosemary- olive oil and vodka! infusions baby!!

I think I’d like the rosemary oil a lot. I saw some rosemary salt rubs that sounded good, but we’d need to BBQ more. Heh salty encouragement!
