Rocksbox Subscription Box Review (1st Box) – May 2016

Rocksbox is a box that send you a box full of rocks……….

Ya know a few lava rocks maybe a couple pieces of shale that crumble when you touch them…and you pay for this service.

Ha ha..No actually they send you pretty things.

Dealio:

Box: Rocksbox

Theme: Jewelry Subscription box

Cost: $19

Shipping: Free!!

This box has some explaining to do! It is not your typical subscription box. It is actually more of a jewelry rental service. You pay $19 a month. Fill out a style profile. They send you three pieces of jewelry on loan to keep as long as you want. Then keep and pay a discounted price for the things you love. Or send it all back for more! You can get as many boxes as your heart and USPS allow in the months time.

So i subscribed to Rocksbox a long time ago when it was relatively new and deals on subscriptions abounded. The problem for me was that I didn’t really have that many occasions to wear cute jewelry to warrant a jewelry rental box. So why now am I doing a review?! Well, I had a $63 dollar credit still with them and they sent me a promo for a free month. So here ya go!

Isn’t the packaging so pretty? Ok so here is my info cards:

Why hey there Rocksbox…

info

So on their website you can create a style profile and look through their pieces to make a “wish list”. On my list I picked out a ton of earrings and cuff bracelets. I don’t think I selected one necklace…Let alone 2 long necklaces….

Kendra Scott Skylar Earrings:

I have had an obsession with Kendra Scott since PSMH sent a pair of earrings out in their monthly box in July 2014. It was my first “lifestyle box”. So these earrings were on my wish list! I will probably be purchasing them with my credit.

House of Harlow Prana Necklace:

This necklace is super cute but I don’t have a situation to wear something like this right now. If I put this on the toddler will think it is some sort of new game and will walk up behind me then pull it off and yell “Hi-ya”!

I was afraid to remove it from the packaging as I am convinced it would tangle immediately and then I would waste 5 hours untangling it….

Sophie Harper-long disk necklace:

Long disk necklace is actually the name of this necklace. Pretty creative huh…. I shall call myself…brown hair freckled girl! Sorry I digress. Anyhoo- This style is super trendy but again not something I can rock at the present time. Again the toddler and again the “hi-ya” I can see the little gold disks sailing through the air..

After you wear it you throw it all back in here with their pre-paid return envelope and bam! Wait for your next set. In the meantime, you can log into your account and offer feedback on what you like/didn’t like about your set.

Survey Says:

Well, I knew when I signed up for this free box that I probably wouldn’t continue after the free month. After getting my box, I still feel the same way. Rocksbox is an awesome idea as well as easy and fun to use. For this stage in my life, it is not an ideal fit for me. However I know a few ladies who love this box because they have professional jobs and so a rotating box of trendy jewels is super convenient and fun for them to mix up their wardrobe.

What do you think? Have you tried this box?

So… Is there a sub to get that volcanic rock… I meannnnnn not that I need it. Just ummmmm asking for a … Friend. Yes! A friend! That’s the ticket!

I love the necklaces but while I worry not for a toddler I do worry for the thunder paw that is my kitty…

The name of this box makes me giggle

It just so happens that I know of a box that sends volcanic rocks… it is called the cursed crate! There is actually some pretty heavy voo-doo about people taking volcanic rocks from the island. It is a serious no no. At this museum on the big island they have all these letters of people mailing back their volcanic rocks. I could totally start a box that you send to an enemy……..

PS the splashes that block out you personal info remind me to use that on some of my more personal pics Hahahah

Those splashes remind me of pasties that I saw on the Amazon. And I really do not recall why I was looking for pasties. I would like to say it was with the Zoe nips but I am sure it was some random reason why. Or maybe it popped up as a suggested purchase item.

Maybe I should use tassles to block out my personal information? We should get all weird and it would be like some weird inside joke that our readers understand lol.
