Sunday Morning Coffee Talk-Mothering Day (it is a 2 cup post)

People think you have to pop out a human kid to be a mom. I disagree. I think “mothering” can apply to a whole host of actions and to a whole host of creatures. So here at Subscriptionista, on this day May 8th, I declare it “Mothering” Day!

Here are qualities or actions you need about another person or animal to participate (pick one or all three):

  1. Worrier
You worry about your sister’s new boyfriend or about your little doggie at home while you are at work
  2. Caring
You want the best for your friend and you love your cat so much you order it it’s own subscription box
  3. Nurturing
You listen to your co-workers grief about the loss of a loved one or you walk your dog daily

Alright now onto the good stuff. We have compiled some photos of all our readers who love fur babies or human babies

Subscriptionista:

Name: Sophia Von Bearcat de Coronado

Here is a pic of my leg with my cat … We like to be lazy together

PNUT:

Ok doesn’t Pnut make the most beautiful babies?!? Seriously? Could they be any cuter!!

Onderria:

Name: Bella
I got my suitcase out then went down the hall to eat lunch, and when I came back Bella had claimed her spot on my fur coated suitcase. Her eyes are so green! I always forget bc her pupils are usually super dilated around me.

Jenn:

Names: Maggie and Ozzy

These babies are Maggie, a sweet and sassy little shi tzu and Ozzy, the most chill cat ever.  Sadly they are no longer with us. They passed away in October and November, respectively.  She was 6 and he was 8.  I loved them since they were weeks old. The details of their passing are horrific and our family is still coming to terms with it and trying to heal.  I miss them dearly.  I haven’t talked about them in a long time.  It’s hard.  Thank you for loving fur babies so much and letting me share pics of my babies with you.

Susie:
Names: Delbert, Waylon, Winnie, Wendel
Here are my babies. I have 3 kids, 3 in-laws and 10 grandbabies.  Yet some say these 5 are the most spoiled! The first pic is my sister with the Ws.  From left to right: Winnie, Willie, Wendell and Waylon.  Second pic is Delbert on the couch where he is not allowed. For some reason, he thinks his name is Dammit Delbert.  And last pic is Waylon, Winnie and Wendell hiding out during a storm. Dachshunds are weenies when it comes to bad weather.

Dayle:
Name: James James Morrison Morrison Weatherby George Dupree – Jim for short.

Yesterday (last monday) was a rainy day in Iowa and I took the two faded as he sat with me in my chair and we did nothing all day. The other better represents his personality on most days. He is a one year old that we rescued on Valentine’s Day. My husband doesn’t want another because we already have one dog and I want to get a puppy in the next month.  I have never had only one cat. It seems sad.

Erin:
Names: Nash, Jax, Nyx, Asher, Ghost Face Chincilla
1. Nash, the fluffy tortoiseshell, is our oldest. She loves to knead my lap like bread and curl up in our library, to really spread the fur around the house. She tends to flop her butt around when you pet her…often on your face.
2. Asher, the grey and white boy, is our youngest. As you can see, he fully enables my box addiction, and practices for his life on the streets when my husband kicks him out for knocking over cups of water EVERY SINGLE DAY. You’d think we’d learn and put them someplace out of his reach, but that’s no fun.

3. Jax, the big tuxedo boy, is the next oldest. His favorite activity is yoga, and I’m jealous of his flexibility. He’s very vocal, but only when I’ve just fallen asleep. He grew up with my mom’s dog, so he prefers to play with four legged friends that aren’t cats.

4. Nyx is the grey girl, a diluted tortoiseshell. I have a crippling weakness for tortoiseshell cats, and Nyx has only deepened my obsession. Her favorite sleep spots are the bathroom sink and my husband’s dresser drawers, and she loves to talk. Like, she never stops. She carries on full conversations with me…I’m totally not talking to myself and projecting on her.

And finally, when we get tired of huffing cat hair, we get fancy by smothering ourselves in chinchilla fur. Our round little one, Ghost Face Chilla, loves to play with the cats and leads them on merry hopping chases all over the house. She likes to be held, but if she’s scared she will stand on her hind legs and shoot pee at you. The first time we thought it was so cute that she was standing up…then we realized what she was doing. It was much less cute then. But I love having rodents as pets (always had rats growing up), so she fits right in. She’s hard to photograph!

Thanks so much for letting me share our menagerie! This community is awesome and I really enjoy it

And Erin!
Isn’t she hilarious?!? I am sooo jealous that she has a chinchilla!

LC:

Names: Gizmo

Here’s pics of my fur baby, Gizmo (also know as Sophia Von Bearcat’s twin). His hobbies include napping, trying to get his humans to nap with him, trying to eat our paper products, begging for food, and changing napping locations.

Aloha, all you mothering peoples! Thank you so much for reading our blog and for sharing your lives with us. We hope you all get a little R+R today!
Also, if somehow I missed your email I want to apologize. No one was intentionally left out. I went back through my email three times to try to make sure I didn’t miss anyone but I am severely sleep deprived so I could have missed your email and please know that it was not intentional!

I love the concept of Mothering Day – I’m not a human-mom, but I have two fur-babies and several “nieces” that I worry about and love as much as if I birthed ’em. Thank you!

And Jenn, I’m so sorry for the loss of your fur-babies….

I love this post and will be doing one as an ode to LC’s cat because it looks like mine lol!!! But I am so thankful to all of you who shared your pics. It was great to meet new pics and also revisit favorites. I would huff the hell out of Little Lamb and basically all of your cats. So be thankful that I am your internet friend and don’t live next door hahaha

Lol! Let me know and we can like, coordinate cat pics and stuff. I showed my boyfriend the blog posts of my reviews and he was more excited about Gizmo’s pics. (Side note: I sent my pics in late, MBJ didn’t miss my email.)

hahaha Review and cats! I love everything! I have a tote I need to review but I can’t take a selfie right… it’s like, how can I crop out all the clutter in my place?!? hahah

Also I kinda wanna note that we all have probably the cutest kids and fur babies out of anyone in the internet. Like, honestly? I am feeling puffed up with pride looking at all these cute things!!! I deserve a glass of white wine (for doing nothing ) yes!

Seriously! Usually I’m all arrogant with my pets’ cuteness, but this post has humbled me with the variety of adorable animals and babies here. Is it weird that I want to rub my face all over all of them? OK, not the human kiddos but the furry ones definitely…

      • May 8, 2016 at 3:04 pm

It is NOT weird at all!!! Just shows your superior taste!!! I can’t believe all the cute I don’t get to see… I think we should do more pet posts. Like Pet and little ones cute round up!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Mothering Day! This post is amazing! Everyone’s fur babies are adorable and Pnut’s tiny human’s are gorgeous! (I wonder what they are looking at that got them all to sit long enough for a photo, lol.)

Jenn, I’m so sorry about your babies. They are family members, not just “pets”. I’m glad you shared them with us.

Happy late mothers day to all. I hope yr babies got u something nice. I miss my chinchilla churro. He was the sweetest, littke furry man, who loved rasins and getting up high on the cat tree. I didnt realize he was super sick until it was too late and he died. Btw, i am beyond confused, who does this site belong to ? There are so many people i totally get confused. Does everyone just contribute their own box reviews? Thanks

    • May 12, 2016 at 11:14 am

Haha! Yes we are a little discombobulated. There are four us who blog for the site.
