target box 2016

Target Beauty Boxes seem to come out every month in a time frame that is as mystical and hard to pin down, like getting a good parking spot. It is not a subscription but it does seem to come out each month. You just have to be fast enough to get in on the deal when it posts! This box costs $5, $7, or $10 and includes shipping. They also usually have a coupon with $3 off of $15 for beauty products.

andalou

Andalou Naturals Age Defying Night Repair Cream: $24.99 for 1.7oz. “For improved dermal texture, diminishing fine lines and wrinkles overnight for smooth, ageless beauty.”

I see this at Grocery Outlet sometimes, so it’ll be nice to try it out and if I like it I know where to get the brand inexpensively! It’s now my nighttime hand cream.

laneige water bank

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream: $32 for 50ml. “This luxurious cream relieves dryness instantly for the smoothest, most supple skin imaginable.”

I got some Laneige once and have been obsessed with the night cream, so I’m excited to try this and get “THE MOST SUPPLE SKIN IMAGINABLE”!

That’s quite a hefty claim… BUT my skin is pretty supple after using it.

laneige lip color
Lip color [main], after one hour [top], reapplying [2nd], looking good [3rd], not on my teeth [4th]!
L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lip Pen: $8.99. “The sleek, sophisticated pen offers highly pigmented color that glides on effortlessly in one precise stroke.”

I have like five or six lip colors open right now and was going to swap this, but words like “sophisticated”, “effortlessly”, and “precise” made me intrigued.

You mean I don’t have to have lipstick all over my teeth and up the side of my face??

kiwi hair food dry shampoo

Hair Food Kiwi Dry Shampoo: $11.99 for 4.9oz. “Absorbs excess oils and transforms oily hair into fresh hair.”

Ugh srsly with the dry shamp. McBoyfriend’s sister-in-law has laid claim to any dry shampoos I get, thank goodness.

firming dmae mousturizer

Derma E Firming DMAE Moisturizer: $19.99 for 2oz. “100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil-free, lanolin-free, gluten-free, GMO-free.”

Given to my sestra.

cerave egyptian magic
Ooops! Sorry about these awful pictures!

Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream: $24 for 2oz. “All-natural ingredients derived only from living plants and organisms: olive oil, beeswax, honey, bee pollen, royal jelly extract, and propolis.”

I’ve gotten some of this before, and both times I’ve given it away. It looked sketchy, but this time I gave it away because my sister and her fiance have eczema and they like natural stuff.

CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser: $9.99 for 12oz. “This formula removes surface impurities, makeup, excess oil and dead skin cells without stripping vital lipids.”

burt's bees cleansing oil

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Oil: $15.99 for 6oz. “A unique blend of natural moisturizers including Coconut and Argan Oils and is rich in antioxidants to keep your skin nourished.”

I was glad to see they sell this in a pump because this little bottle is HARD to squeeze!! I like it though, and it seems to work pretty well. Smells nice too!

sublime bronze

L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Towelettes: $7.79 for 6 towelettes. “Your tan will be two shades darker than your natural skin tone.”

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED, L’Oreal! I have never gone tanning or used tanning spray in my life, and figured no one on swaps would want this, so I decided to check this business out for myself to see if I could touch up my swimsuit tan.

Errr the untanned area…

tanning towelettes

Results: I was surprised that the towelette was white! It smelled pleasant like the citronella it contained. Can you see any difference in the before and after? I can’t… My skin felt tacky for a long time after, and I don’t think I’d enjoy the process of hanging out in the buff for 20 mins after toweling down. Ehhhhh. Wouldn’t buy again. Plus, the next day my hands were the one noticeably golden part.

Verdict: I believe this is the second Target Beauty Box I have purchased, and it was not bad. I gifted half the items, but I think they’re all useful and seasonally appropriate items! Though I think including three face creams and two face cleansers was unnecessary, but I’ll use it so that’s fine.

Hehe, Marie I will have to try it next time I get some! I think the Burt’s Bees and the lip color have been my favorites. The lippie is surprisingly nourishing and has a nice color, and the Burt’s Bees smells so nice and works quite well.

One of these days a subscription box will gift me with this magical Egyptian Magic cream. Is curious but not enough to plunk down the clams for a tub.

And honestly this is a great review Onderria! I was not interested in this box when the spoilers came out but now I am like wow nice box!

Thanks Pnut! I had fun writing it and trying the items. I told McBoyfriend that my hands turned golden from the tanning towel, and he looked at me with eyes squinted in confusion and whispered, “but… you’re black…. why were you fake tanning?” I do what I want…

bwwahhhhhh…..I wished you lived closer. If only we could all drink beers and play trivia games…(oh btw we love trivia games….and beer)

MBJ I like beers and watching trivia, but I have performance anxiety so I always forget any of the few answers that I might know.
What did the people drink during the Jonestown massacre? FLAVORAID!!! It wasn’t Koolaid, and all I could remember was “off brand Koolaid” =(

I forgot to comment on this review. First Loved it! Second, I am so interested in the cleansing oil. I am sad you had to sit around for 20 mins to not get that much of a tan from the tanning wipe. I always have a hard time self tanning.

I love the oil! I would probably buy some when it was done if I wasn’t swimming in face cleansers and balms. It’s really soft, has a nice pleasant scent, and takes off my makeup pretty well.
