Avenue A by Adidas Subscription Box Review-Summer 2016

Disclosure: I bought this with my own money and I am so glad I did. Whoop Whoop!

Get ready, I am going to gush. I might even giggle. This box is that good. If this box was a song it would be by Bruce Springsteen. That’s right, I am calling it ‘The Boss” of boxes…

Box award for largest subscription box ever. . .

Avenue A by Adidas:
What: Packed with Adidas sporting equipment
Cost: $150 per box
Frequency: Quarterly

Ok now that I have mentioned “The Boss”

“In the day we sweat it out on the streets of a runaway American dream. . .

Tramps like us, baby we were born to run. . .”

Alright it is summer, let’s sweat it out!

You had me at your insert Avenue A!

Each Avenue A box has a selected curator. For this box, it was Morgan Brian who is a soccer star! Any soccer players in the house? It is my personal favorite sport.

Adidas miCoach fit smart watch:

This was the spoiler for this box. Originally after seeing that this was the spoiler for the box, I canceled as I really wanted shoes. However, a representative for Avenue A commented on a recent MSA post that the box would include shoes so click click and I was back signed up. What to do with this tracker? I have resisted these for a long time. And now, this one has something to truly fear called “real time coaching”. I didn’t take this out of the box because I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it. I thought about swapping it for more skincare stuff (hehehe). I began researching all the features it offers and decided to keep it based on 2 things. One, it is a heart monitor. Two, it is a distance tracker. As a long time fitnessizer (yep, a new word I invented), finding both of those features in the same watch is amazing!

What my “Real-time Coaching” sounds like, “MJ, we see you are turning into Jack in the box. No! No! No! Turn back! Turn Back!”

More “Real-Time Coaching”, “Mj, Mj, put down the wine. . . “

Edge Lux Running Shoes

Hello my pretties! Look at these babies!! They are designed for all sports with a sock-like construction.

Here they are up in the club just working on their fitness

20160622_183332-1

They are lightweight with good support. I wore them to CrossFit and the heels are extremely stable for lifting. I wore them without socks and did a 400m run in them with no rubbing. Wonderful!!

Supernova Tank Top:

This is a lightweight mesh. It ran a little more fitted than I expected so I am in the process of exchanging it for a medium (yes! they have exchanges!!!).

My only concern is that it is white. . . should I just dye it grey now?!? I personally don’t separate the laundry and therefore do not own any white clothing. . .

M10 Shorts:

OOo wee baby, these are short even for me! Good thing they are super comfortable. They have the little built in undies but it is a large mesh so I don’t know that I would recommend them for any group exercises unless you want to wear underwear under them. They are definitely for running!

Put these in the category of fast and loose, literally!

Adilette Cloudfoam Slides:

These are iconic Adidas! I was ready to write them off as dorky. . . but then I tried them on. Hmm, this mama can deal with the dork factor for comfort. The only reason I call them a little dorky is that they made their appearance in the 90’s when I was a teen-ish and the only people I knew who wore them were dorks because in Hawaii we wear slippers. In my profile I entered 9.5 for my shoes size and they sized these up so they are a little big. I am in the process of trying to return then for a smaller size. Will update.

Cloudfoam for my feet, yes please!

************************Update: Avenue A will exchange my slide for a 9!!*****************

Adidas Freestyle headband

I love a headband!! About 6 months ago, I decided to grow out my bangs so I have quite a collection of headbands. The other headbands accepted this one right into the family!

Side note: bangs are never a good idea

Survey Says:

Watch out end of the year box awards, Avenue A is going at the top of the list!! I am going to go on record and say that this is my favorite subscription box of all time. Like in the history of boxes, non even compare. First, I order my box on June 13th. Then, I get my box on June 20th via Fed-ex!! I open my box and a few item don’t work for me. I email customer service and they respond in under 12 hours offering to help me exchange my items!!!! **Update: Exchanges were a breeze! and done within 24 hrs!!* Lastly, I am a little biased as fitness is my first love (aside from Jesus, my babies, surfing, coffee and red wine). Happy dance!!! Anyone out there get this box? Thoughts?!?!

Yay! You got this!! We’re an Adidas household here (yes to soccer!) for all athletic gear and sporting equipment, so I may be a little biased, but yes, this is the best subscription box in the history of time. And this particular box is the best box ever amongst all boxes ever sent by anyone! I liked it even more than the first (I didn’t get that one – I never get the first box of a sub).

I loved everything in this box! I thought it was perfectly curated for summer. The sneakers are super comfortable and beautiful and I love that I don’t need socks. The slides are like walking on a cloud. The top is great and will be used a ton. I LOVE the print on the shorts. Let me tell you, Adidas makes some super short running shorts! I’ve donated a few pair as a result, but these I’m keeping. Headband is stylish and great for running/sports in the summer and even the beach. The watch – the watch is great! I’ve been using it for a few days and I really like the features. I like that I can actually use it as a watch instead of just a pedometer and that it measures heart rate. I also like that I can see directly on the watch how many steps I’ve taken, distance, and calories burned without needing to pull up the app on my phone. I also like the Train and Run app so far. My “coach” wasn’t really involved in my workout yesterday, but I also chose a super easy non-cardio one so that may be why. We’ll see. So far, I’m really happy.

We frequent the Adidas outlet and get tons of stuff for not much money, but I don’t think I could have gotten all of this for $150. I’m a subscriber for life.

Me too! I loved every single item. And I am loving the watch more and more. I keep trying to figure out if you could use it as a watch and no one comments on that. Yay!! I have always been biased to adidas over Nike too. I have always thought they made the best running shoes.
      Oh the shoes!!

Great box! I LOVE the running shoes!

Yes!! They are so perfect for summer. The top portion is really lightweight

I am very happy with the box! The shorts are short, like scary short for me, but when I wore them others thought they were ok. I love the shoes, usually I need a breaking in period, but these felt like home right away! I got 9 in the slide and they are humongous, but they are fine for how I will use them. And the cloud foam is so soft! Just need to keep them away from the puppy’s sharp teeth! I am wearing the tracker on my right arm because I love my dressy watches, but so far so good, if not a little embarrassing when the lot turns red because my heart rate is too high!

This is a fantastic box! Great marketing for ADIDAS too as I find myself checking out all the other stuff they make and I definitely will be buying more! Whoop whoop is right!

Yes sir-ee they are short. I think they are great for running though when it is hot and you want as little on as possible. I don’t think they could go to crossfit though were you are doing a lot of squats and etc. I might try to pass them off at the beach as a bathing suit bottom!

This is such a nice box. I already have all the workout gear I need, but these first two boxes have made me sigh with envy over my computer screen.

This looks like a great box. I didn’t get this one because I have a FitBit Pulse watch with the heart rate and distance tracking features but even without that I still would have loved it.

Me thinks I will sign up for this one.

P.S. I’m way too lazy to sort my laundry by color so I also don’t own anything white.

So how offensive is it to say that I blog with someone who works out with a tramp…oline? From like 1-12 on the scale? 😉 love this review
