Benevolent Beauty Box Review – June 2016

Benevolent Beauty Box is a subscription that sends out beauty products that don’t contain the tears of puppies or kittens. Basically, they are all about cruelty free cosmetics, because getting pretty doesn’t mean you have to get ugly! Yay!

There are two options you can choose from:

The VIP: 4-7 full sized items for $29.95 month to month and less with longer subscriptions

The Mini: 2-3 full sized items for $15.95 month to month and less with longer subscriptions

You fill in your skin tone, color preferences, eye color, and hair color which leads me to believe they do try to match products to your preferences! Yay for not getting a lipstick that you hate!

Well Hello back!

Bellapierre Cosmetics – HD Makeup Primer: Whoa this costs $75 retail? Just kidding! It seems that this is selling for about $30. I usually don’t even bother looking at RV’s because that isn’t a sort of world I personally live in. I live in a world where I buy things based on how I personally value them. This is how I operate.

I am always glad to get primers and other non textbook products in a beauty box! This one goes on smooth and doesn’t have that weird waxy feeling others have. I am not sure I would put it on for an every day look because I tend to use a BB cream at the most during the day. However, I will be using this for those nights I want to trick people into thinking I am a few years younger…

Streetcar Named Desire in…HD!!!

Cailyn Cosmetics – Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint (Hospitable): I love a gloss with a matte finish! It gives me what I want, without always having to apply a drying lipstick. This color is a little pink for me, and I will have to wait until I can get a little tan to make it look fun and flirty. Yes, I just said fun and flirty and meant it. Sue me.

My mouth is only “Hospitable” to french fries and pizza… Count on it

Gourmet Body Treats – Agrimony Eye Cream: This is an all natural vegan eye cream to help with just about any issue… except it doesn’t address my eye rolling problem. Anyway, it feels soothing on which is awesome! I will have to report if it helps with the lines I have started to notice when I smile. It is totally unnerving and makes me frown… so I guess I will need cream for that as well.

“Agrimony” is not an aggressive way to get alimony as I had assumed. It is a common name for the Agrimonia plant!

Trust Fund Beauty – Lipgasm Lipstick (Try To Be Nice): I noticed this is not a color they are offering right now on their website. This doesn’t harsh me at all because the lipstick is still good, and I actually really love the color. I believe that purple shades look great on any skin tone. I will fight this view to the death. I really will, we can set it up should I get a challenge but wouldn’t you just prefer to eat some treats and drink box wine with me? Thought so!

“Try To Be Nice” should be my mantra like, allllll the time!

Vapour Organic Beauty – Mesmerizing Eyeliner (Ink): Again, I totally get that I am one of the last and maybe only people who get excited about black eyeliner, but ya see, I wear it! I wear it and am always looking to see if there is something better out there. I want the best of the best black eye liner!

The sponge blender saved me from an very shaky application…

Verdict: Benevolent Beauty Box is in a really competitive space for subscription box beauty. This box was solid but I would have liked to see colors that were still being offered and not a sample size eye cream. I understand that I can’t expect the moon and the stars and I think the items were super useful. It is just that when you think “4-7 full sizes” you are thinking a much more present box. Overall it is still a great value and I am looking forward to seeing more!

Kinda drags a bit for me. But I am having an arthritis flair up so maybe better for me later? I can’t do a kitty but maybe a squiggle since my hands are jacked up right now lol

Great review! I love learning about more cruelty free products. By the way, my mouth is also “hospitable” to fries and pizza…and chocolate.

I’m kind of getting into TFB. They have some pretty cool stuff that I am so excited to try!

I’m also becoming a fan of TFB though I was initially put off by the name!
