Kick Back and Get Comfortable:

I got worried when I saw that one of the themes for this month was “festivities”. Was it because they were scared of using the word “festival”!?!

I get scared now when I hear the word “festival” in subscription boxes.

Luckily, I did not have to worry.

“Happiness Delivered” is very much preferred.

Pressels Sriracha

Let’s start out with the noms. PopSugar did good as this bag was packaged in a circle of cardboard for its ultimate protection.

I like to start my reviews by nomming anything nommable in my box.

image
Pressels Sriracha

Pressels Sriracha – If you are a fan of those thin pretzels, these may be your next new love (minus those itty bitty pieces of salt that I do not like on those thin pretzels). I loved the Pressels special crunch factor but I do not prefer this flavor. My mouth was burning after eating a few. My husband said that these tasted more peppery than Sriracha(y). There are several other varieties available but I think the everything flavor would be awesome. With a cream cheese dip. And maybe some lox.

Hot Nom!

For your reading pleasure, I took a picture of the back of the package….

Sisters of Los Angeles Cheers Golden Bottle Opener

Sisters of Los Angeles Cheers Golden Bottle Opener – This links to the beloved, although smaller than expected, Sisters of Los Angeles beach towel from last years PopSugar’s box. I only remembered this note because I forgot to wash beach towels and this was my backup. I am digressing by being wistful let me review this year’s Sisters of Los Angeles contribution.

This golden bottle opener is very substantial in weight. I first wanted to give it away as a filler with some kind of future housewarming, congratulations, or something gift. But I am taken with it. So I think I will put this in my bottle opener section.

My bottle opener section would not be as huge if we did not keep forgetting to bring one in our travels.

Hat Attack Neutral Diamond-Printed Sarong

Hat Attack Neutral Diamond-Printed Sarong – I was very curious to see how I felt about this sarong. Let me tell you I love this sarong. This sarong is made of 100% cotton and it absorbs very well for being thin. Like it is thinner than the past few scarves from PopSugar (think Tilo Brand scarves because I think those are the only ones I remember). Thin in a good way in that you can use it as a Sarong or Scarf or anything that your heart may desire as it is so easy and tiny to pack!

I also like to say Hat Attack as HAT ATTACK!!!! ATTACK!!!!

image
Hat Attack Neutral Diamond-Printed Sarong

The size is also HUGE!!!

Thats what she said!

Anyways, the best part of this sarong is its multipurpose. Because it is thinner and definitely more lightweight than a beach towel or turkish towel, I am putting this in my smallest diaper bags (yes because I have many diaper bags) to use as a last-minute beach towel, picnic mat, nursing cover, etc. in lieu of one of my beloved Aden + Anais muslin blankets.

I wonder whether this sarong attacks hats. HAT ATTACK!!! ATTACK!!!!

Knock Knock Are You Ready (For Your Close-up?) Compact

Knock Knock Are You Ready (For Your Close-up?) Compact – I need one of these dual mirrors because I cannot find my travel compact that I used for traveling and I do not want to bring my expensive fancy travel compact that I bought 75% off.

Like a fine wine subscription box pairing, I will have this compact canoodle with my recent Macys Sun Essentials Set mini Tweezerman in one of my many pouches.

image
Knock Knock Are You Ready (For Your Close-up?) Compact

I think the reason why the second magnifying mirror is included is to give a reality check of any whiskers I may have.

Am I my own fur baby?

image
Knock Knock Are You Ready (For Your Close-up?) Compact

No. I am not ready for my Close-Up.

NCLA Born on the 4th Nail Lacquer

NCLA Born on the 4th Nail Lacquer – I am a glitter fan since I received a Zoya Pixie GWP ages ago. Before that moment I was like why would I love glitter!?! Changed my life. I digress. I am a HUGE lover of this nail polish. Although those hexes really irritate me generally speaking because I have to apply carefully to have them stick on my nails. Here is a swatch with three layers sans a base and top coat. Also, if you are familiar with me and my nail polish swatches, please be aware that I gave myself a full mani this time!

Fourth of July hear I come!!!

image
Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes

Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes – One of my diaper bags has a deodorant stick. I am replacing the deodorant stick with this so I do not have to worry about high temperatures melting the deodorant stick. I have tested this out and the scent is of a nice sweet coconut. Definitely a better scent that what was neutralized with it. And my pits indeed felt refreshed.

I am oddly excited to receive this and look forward to future episodes to refresh my pits if they become smelly.

Ridley Games Who Am I?

Ridley Games Who Am I? – Yea! Another fancy game that I can put aside to when we actually get around to playing “real”  games. PopSugar is really good at this especially with the fancy BINGO set.

I am compelled to see when Jeopardy is playing. Jeopardy should be on Netflix. Seriously.

PopSugar June 2016

Verdict: I LOVED this month’s PopSugar. I.Want.All.Of.This and more!!! If I swapped, I would try to get a whole slew of the sarongs! I am all excited about layering multiple coats of patriotic glitter polish to mask chipping until July 5th (because this is the easiest way to have a lazy mani)! The bottle opener is so fancy. Why I am stoked about underarm deodorant wipes is beyond me but I envision feeling refreshed and clean smelling when I use it on a hot day because, hey, that is when my deodorant plans to crap out on me. The compact is going in one of my many pouches so I can pluck eyebrows at the ready. And thank goodness for a nom, I am not a fan of spicy but I am happy with a generous portion to share with my hubby.

I liked the sarong, and after washing it the fabric is much softer. I wear it as a scarf though. The wipes are interesting, but they’re not an antiperspirant, so I still put on deodorant… I wish I had it when I was camping though! I like that the back says “reluctant camping trips” or something. Otherwise, I thought it was a good box, but I don’t really have any interest in keeping anything else. The game will go to a friend who is obsessed with celebrities and famous people, the rest will be swapped, and I think the boy ate the Pressels. We love pretzel crisps in my house too! I got him hooked on them. The Buffalo Wing and Sriracha Lime flavors are the best.

Nice mani btw! I usually do a color with glitter over, but now I might just do some glitter manis… I only have like 8 bottles of glitter polish…

My polish always chips so quickly that I recently started the glitter-only mani… And I love it! Chips are a lot less obvious and I got a lot of compliments.

      Great review Pnut! ATTACK!! Lol

        Thanks Heat!
        Smart minds think alike 😀
If you need a good glitter NP remover try Zoya (but wait for a code or somethin)! It’s the best glitter nail polish remover ever and its supposed to be good for your nails.

I’m so happy to read your review! I love this box too! I made a comment on liking this box over at the Big blog place and kind of got my head bitten off. Well, not really, but got a very snarky reply from another commenter. I don’t understand why some people are so angry over a mystery box. Aren’t these boxes supposed to be surprises for ourselves that we would not normally buy? One month their all griping that the box is boring and repetitive. The next month it’s all weird things they’d never buy??!?? Sheesh. Anyway, love your review. I gave the game to my son and he said it’s the best game ever for date nights (he means nights that I have all four of his littles for the whole night!) Thanks for letting me vent.

    • June 20, 2016 at 11:38 am

      They’re, not their. Sorry

    • June 20, 2016 at 11:48 am

Susie I agree! If I don’t like a box I have to step back and think, well it’s not my taste but is it well curated? And I think this one was, it just wasn’t my favorite box. I think Popsugar is one of the better boxes as far as value and curation though, so it’s fine if they don’t hit a home run EVERY month. Just most months =D hehe. We should do a Christy Tiegen cook-a-long!

      • June 20, 2016 at 11:54 am

We totally should! Y’all need to add a new series…Subscriptionista Games! We could all do things like cook & photograph from same cookbook! Or submit photos of our contouring attempts. Or even weirdest use of product we have. My sister is visiting this week and asked me why in the world I had yoga mats stacked up on kitchen floor!

        • June 20, 2016 at 4:53 pm

This is a terrific idea!! Maybe we could have a monthly challenge

I agree about the nasty comments. Its fine to say you don’t like the box, but don’t attack someone else who did enjoy it. it is a mystery box and especially with popsugar the values exceed the cost of the box so especially over 6 month subscription it more than evens out for me. “however” I didn’t like this months. I actually want to swap for the wipes since I’m in Houston and I get sweaty daily and would use them.

      • June 20, 2016 at 12:12 pm

Exactly! It’s like this person was angry that I had the audacity to like the June box! Those wipes are great. We went fishing in east Texas this weekend and I was very thankful I packed them!

      • June 20, 2016 at 4:53 pm

The wipes are amazing!! They smell delightful and work really well.

      • June 20, 2016 at 10:10 pm

The interesting thing is that I think maybe there is a team that does a certain month for PopSugar curation. That is my thought process. I really LOVE the past February and Septembers the most.

    • June 20, 2016 at 4:54 pm

I loved this box too! It was my favorite PSMH of the whole year!!!

    • June 20, 2016 at 10:07 pm

      Thanks Susie!

Sorry your head got bitten off. Seriously, when peeps here don’t like a box we usually “politely poop” about it instead. That is what I like about this site. Mercy flushing. Speaking of mercy flushing stay tuned for my Glossybox review because that has a whole bunch of mercy flushing happening.

That may be a hard box to mercy flush.

          *snorts* lol CeciliaA stay tuned!

I really liked this box. I’ve been using the sarong as a pashmina/scarf/wrap in my office. The temperature outside and in my classroom is perfect for cap-sleeves or sleeveless shirts but my office is like the frozen tundra so this provides some protection from the air-conditioner but still looks ready for summer. The wipes are my favorite find.

I will never understand why on some sites people get personal when someone disagrees with them. I think my “favorite” is when someone posts a response saying they like the box and are accused of working for the box company in question.

Actually, I lied, the pretzel things are my favorite find. I love sriracha. I made myself fake buffalo chicken (vegan chicken bits) with buffalo sauce, put it in a rap and added my own personal mixture of sriracha, ranch, and hot sauce. Ate the pretzel things as a side. Sooooo yummy!

    • June 20, 2016 at 10:12 pm

My “favorite” are the villagers that have their pitchforks raised high when spoilers are released and then are like “oh I hated it but now its in my hands I love it”. Love to hate 😉

I’m happy with this box too. I was planning on wearing the sarong as a scarf, but after this review I’ll use it as intended (it’s still in the plastic here!). I’m going to take the game on our family trip. It should be fun after a few frozen margaritas. The wipes should be great for the beach. When I saw the spoilers I thought I would toss or donate the mirror and the bottle opener, but they are nice quality so I’m keeping them. I hope they have a beach read in next month’s box!

    • June 20, 2016 at 10:14 pm

I know that bottle opener is gorgeous!!! I am glad you are happy with the box too! Thank you for commenting 🙂
