Look What I Bought: Birchbox Limited Edition New Naturals Box Review

The Limited Edition Box: Birchbox Limited Edition New Naturals Box

Cost: $59.00

What is in it: 9 items, 8 of which are full size!

So nice I bought it twice!

Everything is natural and practically blah-bad stuff-blah free.

*sighs* blah-bad stuff-blah Translated: free of parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, and phthalates.

Kick Back and Get Comfortable:

When spoilers for Birchbox Limited Edition New Naturals Box came out, one of the Subista sistas (I believed it was Mailbox Junkie) email blasted the three of us. And for some reason or another, this subject email became a continuing group dialogue amongst the four of us for this box (I believe all four of us bought the box when it came out) and general discussion. Sometimes we part away from the email string but once in awhile, someone sends an email under this subject header and we continue the email thread. I believe we have exchanged hundreds of emails under this subject header. So when I bought this box a second time using the now rarer-to-achieve-Birchbox-points, I realized that no one at Subscriptionista had reviewed this box!

So here I am representing the beloved email subject thread of Subscriptionista!

Here is the pretty box!

Birchbox Limited Edition New Naturals Box

Let’s start with the item that I love love love most first!!!

image
One Love Organics® Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum

One Love Organics® Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum – Oh so this might be my third or fourth backup!!! I just finished my first one (I savored it and then started using it as my backup stash grew)! I did not want to throw away the bottle so I refilled it with One Love Organics Vitamin C Body Oil (which also smells like a dream)! The best part of the packaging the on/off nozzle so if my Pnut people get to it, they cannot use it as an expensive spray gun. Also, the bottle practically uses everything to the last drop and I think I use less with a spray than a pump! And the scent is to die for and is seriously moisturizing! This “Sparks Joy”!!!

Stay tuned for an upcoming Sparking Joy Post!!!

image
Juice Beauty® Hydrating Mist

Juice Beauty® Hydrating Mist – Since I have two of these now and its a plastic bottle (most mists I have are glass), I have one in the refrigerator and one in my large diaper bag. If I remember I switch them out before I go outside.

Like Mailbox Junkie, I would prefer one ylang over the traditional two ylang ylang but this grapeseed, rosehip, and ylang ylang dissipates quickly.

image
EXO Supply Co. Pure Remover™ in Lavender

EXO Supply Co. Pure Remover™ in Lavender – This is my new favorite nail polish remover for non-glittered manicures (Zoya nail polish remover still reigns supreme for glitter nail polishes). Like my beloved Zoya nail polish remover, this smells so nice and unlike regular nail polish removers. The difference between this and Zoya is that the Exo leaves a moisturizing oily residue and Zoya primes your nails for a manicure. Basically, you will need to wash your hands if you wish to paint your nails after using this so I just recommend using this for a lazy day in where you just want to wipe away your old mani and let your nails run naked.

My nails are breathing under scantily clad glitter now.

W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Mascara

W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Mascara – One of the common subscription mascaras that I like. Very simple, clean, classic.

No muss, no fuss.

NO NASTIES IN BOLD CAPS!!!

*snorts*

Dogeared Lil’ Zip Pouch

Dogeared Lil’ Zip Pouch – You know I love my pouches! I did gift this away with some other goodies which was well-received! I wish I could figure out where I squirreled my first pouch but it is here somewhere. This canvas pouch has a nice bottom so it won’t topple over and you can put a ton of stuff in here.

Beauty Is Everywhere… and MIA as well..

The booty side for your viewing pleasure…

rms beauty™ lip shine in Honest

rms beauty™ lip shine in Honest – This may be a lip shine but you can also apply to cheeks!

Gift pile for you!

ILIA Beauty Lip Gloss in Peek A Boo

ILIA Beauty Lip Gloss in Peek A Boo – This looks lovely but I do not do neutral lippys well so this will go to a nice home.

Peek A Boo I won’t use you!

Au Naturale Cosmetics Organic Creme Highlighter Stick in Rose Gold

Au Naturale Cosmetics Organic Creme Highlighter Stick in Rose Gold – This will work better for me as a blush than a highlighter but I know a perfect person to gift this too!

Au Naturale Cosmetics does not make me feel Au Naturale. Don’t discuss.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask – The only sample in this box.

Ok peeps. I am going to use my pet peeve line.

“I am so disappointed.”

Underlined for emphasis on the line part.

Ok. If I did not read the first review of this item via Birchbox, I would have been pleased with this mask and would happily use it for spot treatment. It is a nice luxe mask.

BUT it did not perform as per the first review on Birchbox:

“…I just used this mask and left it on for about 20 min. I washed it off and began my usual regimen….toner, eye cream, oil then moisturizer. When I began rubbing the oil on my face a bunch of little balls started coming out on my hands. I thought, oh shoot, I didn’t rinse it off all the way. When I looked closer, I realized it was BLACKHEADS. Tons and tons and tons of blackheads that just popped out of my skin….”

I want a bunch of little balls coming out of ma face!!!

And here is what I got in my (apparently I ordered the mens) Bonus Pack with $35+ purchase and code for free sunnies with $50+ purchase.

image

Vaughn Shampoo & Conditioner Foils: skimpy foils and had to supplement them with my own shampoo and conditioner so that is that.

Men get even skimpier foils than we do!

das boom Body Brick – this is a soap-infused regular sponge that has get this in the ingrediants …. wait for it … scent of DIRT!

Why is the full size slightly larger and $22!?! For dirt!?!

Knockaround Sunglasses – A bit flashy but for one that keeps misplacing her sunnies, I can’t be too picky as I rather wear sunnies than none on a sunny day. Came with the sunnies holder.

Placed my pile of 007 Sunnies stash. For the disappear and reappear and I am not sure where they went…

Yasss! Great review. I was so excited to try the Tata Harper mask but thought it was pretty disappointing as well. That highlighter is so pretty. I lub lub lub it

*virtually tosses a highlighter in your box for now*

I am sure if that review was not there most of us would be happy with the Tata 😛

I am like the only one to love the mask! I put it on before I get into the shower along with a pre shampoo treatment and then I watch TV and probably eat cheetos (best to eat them before a shower to get rid of the tell tale red fingers) and after my skin looks really good!

I don’t have a blackhead problem I have a dry skin problem and like something like black heads but called something else super long and I cant remember. Anyway, it is way too spendy at the end of the day…

The jar of lippy is actually pretty good! very moisturizing!

I do like that serum. I went through two bottles of it pretty quickly and I’ve actually been eyeing this box. Shame about the Tata Harper though. I read that same review!

    • July 6, 2016 at 8:56 pm

The serum is awesome sauce indeed. I was hesistant on the serum part but I think this was the turnaround for me when I started to believe e hype of face and body serums.

You have been hearing the siren calls of this LE box too? It’s still there singing to me… it really is a great value. Even with the balless Tata it is still a good spot/mask treatment.

The W3ll People eyeliner is listed as a “cult fave”! Your favorite!

I also want blackheads shooting out of my pores

    • July 6, 2016 at 9:01 pm

The “NO NASTIES” overuled the “cult fave” commentary 😉

They should really have the comment on the review area like the Amazon. Imagine the commentary. -Balless in Chicago

Great review!! I got this box too. I’ve wanted to try the One Love body serum for the longest time and it is definitely spark worthy! The Juice Beauty mist smells so loverly (I like two ylangs in my ylang ylang) and it is a great toner. The pouch is awesome! The only other thing I’ve tried is the mask. I read that same review as well. Balless Tatas.

Thanks LC! Pitchforks for the Tatas!

This is such a great review. I kind of wish it wasn’t. I cut out so many boxes and have (mostly) refrained from buying new stuff. I even organized all my stuff so I can quit hoarding and start using. Then I read this review. My box should be here next week. Because I am so weak.

    • July 9, 2016 at 5:50 pm

      Aww thanks Susie!

The box is a great investment and value so I am sure it will be used up!

I am in the same boat trying to use my stash too but ended purchasing July’s Beautyfix :/

The mask of balls beckoned me with her siren call…
