ToGoSpa Eyes – Ice Water: I got really excited about these when they first appeared in Popsugar last year and swapped for some more, but then forgot to use all of them. They don’t do anything for my dark circles, but they feel really nice when I haven’t had enough sleep.
Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels: These are like a fancier version of the ToGoSpa ones. They stay on my face better, but are stiffer and hurt my eyeballs if I try to look down. Better for just lying in bed.
Model Co Lip Lacquer – Viva: Not an empty, but it’s going in the bin! I don’t wear makeup, but Birchbox insists on sending me some anyway, so I figured I ought to at least give it a try. Ack! I don’t know if it was just my inexpert application, or this is just not my color, my mouth looked like it was made of playdough.
TreSemme Expert Selection Steps Pre-Wash Conditioner and Shampoo: Lately Love With Food has been including additional beauty samples which has been fun. This is a conditioner you use before the shampoo to prevent buildup in your hair. I like the idea, but shampoo leaves my hair knotted and I need conditioner to get the tangles out.
Etude House Moistful Collagen Deep Cream: It’s hard got me to feel strongly about face creams, but this packet was nice enough.
QC Natural’s Karan’s Cleanser: This is supposed to be a moisturizing cleanser, but it left my skin feeling unpleasantly sticky. I used it on my body those days I didn’t have time to take a proper shower before work.
Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Recovery Gel Cream: I had high hopes for this one because it’s cheap and gets lots of rave reviews, but it didn’t do anything for me. After 6 weeks I demoted it from face to a body product. I thought that would be the end of it, but as soon as I stopped using it, the eczema on my legs came back. I thought my eczema went away because of the combination of face products that I was using on my legs, but maybe this is the magic one! Fingers crossed!

Leaders Insolution – Aloe Soothing Renewal: I think Leaders masks are expensive for what you get, but I’m happily using them from Fifty Shades of Masks. I’ve noticed that these really do best when stored flat. Which is a pain, but it helps the mask stay evenly saturated.
My Beauty Diary – Black Pearl: I have a whole box of these, so I thought I should use them a couple days in a row to see if I noticed any cumulative effects. They get rave reviews from so many people, but they just didn’t do much for me. They’re supposed to be whitening, but I swear they made me look darker and brought out the olive tones in my skin. This doesn’t bother me as I just want bright, even toned skin in any of my natural shades, but it was very odd. And since I didn’t notice any difference between day 1 and day 4, I can happily go back to my sheet mask OCD and play with new varieties every day. Whee!

Banana Boat Sunscreen (Not from a sub box) – Good / Normal sunscreen that I used on my body when I’d be spending a significant amount of time outside. I’m not picky about body sunscreen unless it stinks (to me). Fancy little sample sunscreens are for face on a daily basis and these big “cheapos” are for quantity, you know?
Creme of Nature Straight from Eden Repairing Oil (CurlKit Oct 2015) – With this foil sample, we also received the full-sized shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner. I finally tried them a few weeks ago when I decided to start trying to wear my hair with it’s natural wave/curl rather than straightening it. I think the performance was pretty good but I can’t get over the smell… it’s not really a bad smell but it’s strong and I don’t love it. Plus my hair is long and the scent didn’t fade so I would smell it ALL day.  It made me begin to hate the smell – yuck.
Dermal Sea Cucumber Supreme Mask (3B box March 2016) – Good mask! Very hydrating; not much extra essence leftover in package after use.
Orogold 24k Deep Day Moisturizer Cream (Glossybox March 2015) – This was from when I was brand new to the sub box world and I was so excited to try this expensive cream (we got two of these little guys).  Not impressed. It has a strong perfume scent that I don’t care for, consistency is just okay, no noticeable results (there rarely is for me though), and then I started reading online about their sales practices in malls and whatnot… just no.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Protective Recovery Complex (GWP?) – A cult favorite for many, this is my 2nd or 3rd sample. I love serums in general (not one in particular and I can’t say any have given me noticeable results) but I don’t love the smell of this stuff… there I go complaining about smell AGAIN. I swear I like many scents!! At least this one isn’t too strong and fades quickly so I’d be happy to use it again if I got another sample.
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask (Target March 2016) – Another cult favorite that I was very happy to try but didn’t wow me. I don’t think it’s very hydrating… most facial moisturizers work better on my dry skin.
derma e® Microdermabrasion Scrub (Birchbox?) – Good scrub with a nice lemony scent. I feel like maybe it’s supposed to be a body scrub (or face & body?) but I used in twice a week on my face so this lasted a while.
Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Cleansing Foam (Birchbox Korean Box) – If I ever need to actually buy a face cleanser again, this might be it!! It foams up nicely for those who like that (Pnut) and yet isn’t drying – my skin was smooth & soft after washing (not tight), and I almost (almost) could have skipped moisturizer after!! At least I think so – maybe if I’d actually waited a minute or two to see how my skin felt, I would feel differently. I’m just really pleasantly surprised that a foaming cleanser felt so hydrating.
Promis Organic Ultra Moisturizing Argan Creme Facial Lotion (Ipsy) – I can’t find this for sale anywhere online so it might be discontinued? I liked it – definitely hydrating. Scent a little strong but pleasant and faded quickly. Nothing amazing though compared to other good moisturizers but worth using up!
Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster & Restoration Serum (from Sub Bella, I think!) – I love trying serums and this one was good – a little watery and no noticeable results that I could see but I would happily use more if I received it in a box. Don’t think I would pay full price though.

Okay, onto the 2nd photo – trash!
L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes (local store) – Even after getting a bunch of fancy mascaras in boxes, this drugstore find is easily one of my favorite! It makes my lashes long & full with very little end-of-day flaking or smudging. <3
Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara (BoxyCharm Oct 2015) – The brush is a little fat for my preference but overall this mascara was fairly good. I also don’t know if I should have used this sooner? It was unopened until I used it but… may have been better (“wetter” which I like…) when fresher? Not worth the price especially compared to my Million Lashes.
Revlon Ultimate All-in-One Mascara (Target Jan 2016) – This one was “wet” (too wet / deposited a LOT of product) and skinny (almost too skinny with minuscule bristles) so it was messy for me and didn’t make my lashes look as great as my L’Oreal.
blinc Mascara Amplified (Boxycharm Jan 2016) – This is one of those mascara that creates little “tubes” around your lashes – I think it’s the 2nd one of that type that I’ve tried.  It’s okay/good but not better than my favorite regular mascaras, and I just don’t like how it comes off with remover at the end of the day… little “tubes” all over my face. It’s just not for me.
Victorias Secret Brilliant Lip Shine (in Fling) – This is OLD. I have many OLD (& new) lipsticks and glosses… and put them all in a box the other day – I should send a picture – it’s ridiculous!  I should throw away a lot more but starting with one (LOL) because like many of you have commented, I HATE feeling like I wasted money.  I have no idea what I thought of this lipgloss or if I wore it more than once or twice – now it’s dried out so bye bye.
That’s all folks! We love trashy opinions so if you feel like sharing shoot me an email of your pics at mailboxjunkie808@ gmail dot com

Pnut, this trash was saved up for over a month…

Thank you Ake not only for your wonderful trash again this week but also for reminding me that I can use meh face products on my body to finish them up more quickly and not waste them!

Anyone got suggestions for using up too many lipsticks? Or should I just send them all to MBJ for her art? 🙂

My arms and legs have been feeling so much nicer since I started using rejected face products on them. I highly recommend it!

Sadly, I have no clue what to do with old lipsticks. 🙁

If you send them to me I will do a large drawing of lips and call it “Swatch this”
@ake-isn’t it funny when you use a product a lot of people love and you try and are like ‘meh’ “like did I apply it wrong or what?!?
@Heat7918 I am the same way about smells!!! Do you remember when PSMH have sent out that reed diffuser? I swapped to get it and when it got here I instantly hated the smell of it but I forced myself to use because I had swapped so heavily to get it but every time I got a whiff of it I would be grossed out. That item was definitely not sparking joy

I hate the feeling of wasting money as well and stuff all the stuff that I don’t use into a drawer. I swear I think it is a magic drawer where one day I will open it and it will be filled with stuff I WILL use! No luck yet..

You can melt down lipsticks and mix colors until you get one you like! I made some with my grandkids. They had a (messy) ball making them. You can put them in tiny containers that can be found at beauty supply stores, craft stores or, if you rarely leave your house like me, you can order from Amazon. I have sooo many empties. Months worth. I promised my husband I would throw them out very soon. So I will start blogging again this week. I will do posts of dirty dozens. I should have many posts

Thanks for the suggestion Susie! That does sound fun.

When you blog about your empties, maybe you could lump similar items together and compare? That would be very interesting! Do you remember how you liked most of the products even months later?

I keep a notebook so I can write down my feelings on each product. As I was feeling oh so smart for doing that, I realized that I didn’t write down what box the product came in! Oops. So now, i keep every info card so I can go back and look.
