Saturday Trash Talk

Aloha lovelies… I thought I would start Trash talk with a lovely feminine intro so that we could then dive into…..

Racoon In Trash Can

Alrighty…

Ake’s Can-ish

09-15 Ake empties

Life is getting in the way again, so I don’t have time for full empties, but I thought I’d share the best and worst of my recent beauty items.

Dermadeli Calm Chamomile Exfoliating Scrub: This was such a disappointment, especially since I love chamomile and I’ve been looking forward to using it since I got it in December. It was much too course for my face, and when I tried to use it on my body, it made a huge mess in my shower, no matter how carefully I rinsed. I didn’t even like the scent. I hate wasting, but when it quickly sprouted mold (I wasn’t good at keeping out the shower damp), I threw it away.
Missha All-Around Safe Block Waterproof Sun Milk: I love this! It feels hydrating without being greasy or making my face shiny. I swear it actually improves my complexion. It does have a bit of a white cast, but it  doesn’t make me look ghostly until I reapply. I can wear it when I exercise and it stays put, where most waterproof sunscreens give me white sweat. If it were cheaper, I would wear it as my everyday sunscreen. As it is, I’m still going to by the full size, but I’ll save it for days I most want to feel pretty.
Empties
CVS Apricot Scrub:
This was my husband’s and I have been waiting till he was done with every last drop so I could finally switch it out for a natural option. We switched him over to a Garden of Wisdom/Acure solution.
Kari Gran Essential Serum: This came in a beauty heroes box. It smelled of lavender. I like it but I probably won’t repurchase because it didn’t absorb well into my skin. It is packed with lovely oils and I am not sure honestly why it didn’t work that well for me. The base oils should work well (Camellia Seed, rosehip, jojoba, avocado, and sunflower) for me but meh…
Vapour Lip Gloss: The Vapour line and I just do not play well together….. All of their products are just to “dewy” for me. This gloss came in a Good Being box. It tastes like castor oil (gross) and the heat this summer has caused it to separate.
Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes: These were delightful. I am so obsessed with their deodorant wipes that I decided to try these and they were perfect for mid-day after sweating a bunch but not wanting to commit to a shower or face wash. Very gentle and no stinging around the eyes.
Andalou Naturals Brighten and Tighten Mask: This came in a Good Being box. I put it in the fridge. It smelled lovely . I didn’t notice any profound results but I think these areaffordablee at Whole Foods and so if I saw them I would repurchase. I like the ease and convenience of sheet masks
That’s all folks!
Email me if you got a pile or a stash to be featured!!!

Great trash Ake! I have that Dermadeli scrub under my bathroom sink (I know, I shouldn’t keep it in the bathroom) – I used it once on my body and yes, messy! I don’t use scrubs that often but got a bunch last winter. I better check this one for mold. :/

Now I want to try that Missha sunscreen!

I gifted that Dermadeli scrub away as part of a housewarming gift since it was a big size I thought it would make a better gift than in my stash for future usage.

Great trash Ake too! I need to forage in my bag of subscription box empties for a trash submission…

MJ, is the second photo yours? So interesting about the serum. I wish I could magically divine why some products work for me and some don’t. You would think ingredient lists would hold the key, and it’s odd when they don’t.

Yes my photo, doh, mama brain at work. It is a mystery to me some times. After thinking about it, I think my skin doesn’t like jojoba oil. Most of the products I have with that in it don’t absorb well.

Oh no, that makes me sad about the Dermadeli scrub. I’m on my second jar because I got it in a Kloverbox that had an item from left over stock (before it was bought by new owners). I’m obsessed with the scent. I find it easier to rinse out of the shower than body scrubs that have oil in them, but I usually use them when I’m going to be cleaning she shower anyway.
