Hey! It’s me, Onderria! I’m taking over the trash hauls this weekend, so let’s start off with a little factoid.
Fun fact: Have you ever noticed that sometimes the word “dumpster” is spelled with a capital D? Well, that is because Dempster-Dumpster was the name of a company that created the bin! Because the name became so synonymous with the bins, there is this thing called a generic trademark where a company no longer has rights to the name because the name just becomes what people call the item. Words that have almost fallen prey include Bandaid, Kleenex, Chapstick, and Google.
Idea originally gleaned from a podcast, but then I had to Wikipedia it to brush up my knowledge.
Let’s talk trash my lads, laddies, ladies, ladles, and lah-di-dahs! No better way to start then to dive in!
This week I climbed into Pnut’s bin, and look what I found!
Source: Subista sistas and Birchbox.
I love everything Coola! I just finished the sunscreen spray and had to make it known. So I dug into my bag of subscription box trash and picked up what Coola products I had that were empty. I thought I had more but they must be squirreled away in tons of my togo pouches.
Sunscreen Spray: love the pina colada scent. This set was purchased via Birchbox and it would be the only way I would enjoy something so decadent since the pricetag is pricey.
Face Sunscreen (Unscented): ok this might have come from the Amazon. Wish it was via Save and Subscribe. I digress. Will not repurchase unscented because Coola rocks with its scented products.
Face Sunscreens (Cucumber): will hands down repurchase. This brings me back to my Bath and Body Works Cucumber Melon days but with the good ingredients.
Face Setting Spray: it did sting a wee bit but I am finding that all the sunscreen setting sprays sting somewhat. Going to refill with some subscription box mist since this packaging is (1) plastic and not breakable glass and (2) portable.
Which Coola product is your favorite? Also, do you have a sunscreen obsession??
Now, let’s see what happens when I [Onderria] run out of eye cream, lose my glasses, and forget to shave for a week!
SOOO embarrassing! Well, since I dug all this stuff out of the trash, let’s see what I’ve got for ya!
Andalou Naturals Night Repair Cream: May 2016 Target Beauty Box
This was a meh. I don’t know how we’ll ever know if night creams did us any good… but I was just trying to use this up to get onto better creme de la cremes!
[and clearly I mean Laneige]
Hello Extra Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste in Pure Mint: March 2016 Popsugar Must Have
This was from a great PS box, and I loved this toothpaste! It tasted like lightly minty yoghurt, which sounds nasty but was actually good.
Hey Honey, Take It Off: Ipsy
So old. Ugh. Michelle Phan makes this junk look like a breeze to peel off, but whenever I tried it I looked like I was molting and it never came off in a sheet.
POP Toothbrush: July 2015 PSMH
I do believe this was from my second PSMH box! I only really liked the toothbrush so I canceled till their amaaaazing [belated] Black Friday sale. This toothbrush is nice, but dude I totally didn’t even remember to replace the head [I’ve used other brushes over the past year… I swear…], and then found the box in my closet. Fortunately, the POP Dental site sells 3 packs for $10.
Mostly this just looks like jellybeans on the package and I want jellybeans. The mask was okay. Nuffin exciting, and it didn’t make me break out either.
Except for the song and dance routine I broke out about eating jellybeans.
Not Soap Radio in Beach + Sky Blue Water: January 2016 PSMH
Another good PS box!! I loved these scents and used them sparingly, but Subista sent me a whole new pack!! YAY!
(Malin+Goetz) Grapefruit Face Cleanser: April 2016 Birchbox
This was nice, smelled pleasant, and cleaned my face adequately.
Omg, this soaaap [though mine was a rectangle, not a circle like in the link picture]. So, at first I thought this soap was old, crumbly, and weird, but I liked the scent and that it felt good exfoliating my skin. But then I looked it up and found out it was supposed to be gritty because it has “Orange Peel, Cranberry Seeds, [and] Pumice.” I had to save a scrap so you guys could see the grit! Unfortunately this is wholesale so I can’t really buy more. Wah wah.
Well, I am glad I got to takeover Trash Talk today because this trash has been sitting in a bag for months! Thanks to the reader who suggested keeping trash in a bag [I think it was Susie].
Have you tried any of these items? Are there any you are dying to try? Let us know!
