Taco Bout It Tuesday: Halloween Costumes

Hello! How are you all?

I am trying not to say “you guys” because I say it too often and some people get offended that “guys” is masculine, though I just use it instead of ya’ll / you people / boys and girls because I like how it rolls off the tongue. Plus, like 99% of our readers likely identify as female.

If anyone identifies as a taco, please don’t be chicken about bringing up your beef and meating me for a chimichanga.

So, after trying to find a fox costume, getting grossed out by all of the real fur fox tails on Amazon, and getting a skirt that was too small, I decided to just go with my squirrel costume that I made several years ago.

Halloween costumes for me have always been handmade and never sexy. I don’t do sexy and I don’t like having a costume that thousands of other people have. My parents never bought us costumes as a kid, we always had to wing it and that just stuck with me.

Farmcat sent me some pictures [which were supposed to be for Caturday, but I was on my way to AZ for the Seahawks vs Cardinals game that day and didn’t have internet]. So, without further ado, I give you: a cat who actually likes being dressed up for Halloween!!!

From Farmcat: “Starla in her special dress. Starla is 2 years old now. When she saw me get her dress she hopped up so I could put on her dress. She loves her dress.”

Now we want to know what you’re going as for Halloween! I heard something that one of the most popular costumes this year is Flo from Progressive! And I’ve already seen one Facebook picture of someone dressed as her.

Will you be handing out beauty box samples to the kids??

Wow the colors really pop with Starla and her outfit! Cute squirrel too 😉

Not into dressing for Halloween but the Squeakers will be Pokemon: Pipsqueak and Squeak will be Pickachus and Squeakette a Mankey/Monkey.

Love your costume! I never understood the sexy costume thing. We don’t dress up anymore. All our kiddos are grown and we live so far out in the woods, we’ve never had a trick or treater here. Last time I dressed up, we hosted a trunk for trunk or treat. I was Raggedy Ann. I love seeing all the pictures of people in costume.

@ Pnut Starla meows her thank you. I think part of the reason she likes the dress is the color of it. Your Squeakers are going to be adorable Pokemon.

Good lord that squirrel costume is a thing of beauty! And the only thing better than a tortie is a tortie who likes to dress up!

All of my students have asked me to dress up, so I think I’ll be Marceline the Vampire Queen from Adventure Time…mostly b/c my husband previously bought me an axe bass & I have long black hair. It fits my lazy style.
