Glossybox Subscription Review – November 2016

Subscription Box: Glossybox

Disclosure: BoxKraze pays for this subscription box, using money from her real-life job hehe. By clicking the link above, you will be selecting my referral link, by subscribing using my link I will earn points that go towards earning a free Glossybox.

Cost: Glossybox has different plans that you can choose from. Their monthly plan is $21, however, if you think Glossybox is for you, I recommend choosing one of their extended plans which makes each box more affordable. Glossybox 3 month plan is $58.50, 6 month $111 and 12 month $210. However, you can still get awesome deals by subscribing to their e-mails and taking advantage of sales which make boxes even more affordable. I subscribe to their yearly plan.

Why Glossybox? Glossybox prides themselves in delivering a great unboxing experience that includes deluxe-sized beauty products from a wide variety of brands.

Let’s take a look at the November 2016 Glossybox

Each Glossybox arrives packed in a black box, I think it is awesome because it adds extra protection.

First look at the November Glossybox, this month we have the standard pink glossy…December will be a special edition.

Let’s unwrap what’s inside…………..

Each Glossybox contains a product information card, detailing each item with a description and tips on how to use the products.

Glossybox always provides a great unboxing experience, they do a really outstanding job with the packaging.

Here are the November 2016 Glossybox products…Let’s take a look at each item to determine if this is a good box.

A better look at each item included in the box.

De Bruyere Beaute – Jumbo Eye Pencil in Bubble, Full Size $17

This is a pencil that can be used as a liner or as eyeshadow. I am disappointed that they included this item in this month’s Glossybox because I also received an eyeshadow pencil in the September Glossybox. The color is very similar as well so it’s not like they  included a different shade. This item is a bummer for me, maybe if the shade would have been slightly different it would of been worthwhile, however, how many eyeshadow pencils does a person need?

Gerard Cosmetics – Lip Pencil in Luna, Full Size $16

What can I say…this is a lip pencil. I do not typically use lip pencils so how I feel about this product is meh. According to the product info card this lip pencil is long lasting and allows you to define lips or you can use it as lipstick (which I think is what I will be doing, the shade is nice, and it is made in Germany).

Palmetto Derma – Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask (.34oz Sample included $12)

Palmetto Derma Antioxidant mask is a clay mask that helps detoxify pores. I am happy to be able to try this one out because I do suffer from large pores and I would like to see how the detoxifying ingredients work on my skin. I am hoping that is not too harsh that it will dry out my skin. If you have tried Palmetto Derma before please share your experience in the comment section.

Lycopene Skin Care – Crema Rinnovante, (sample size included)

This rejuvenating cream contains Lycopene and astaxanthin which help hydrate and nourish your skin. The product did not state how much of the sample is included but the full size is priced at $44 for 1 oz. I like receiving skin care products in my boxes and this will definitely help with my skin during the winter months.

Beautiful Nutrition – Grapefruit Detox Shine Repair Shampoo (Sample Size included: ?)

According to the product card this shampoo can help with damage from heat exposure, styling products and chlorine. It is sulfate free so that is a plus. I am not really excited that Glossybox included a shampoo sample but who knows, it might be worth it.

Verdict: To me the November 2016 Glossybox was disappointing, I am hoping that subscriptionista readers received a better variation of this box. I am not even sure that I am super excited about the skin care items included in this box. I kind of wanted more out of this box, hopefully Glossybox will make it up in December. Also, this is the time of year where I consider if I should continue with my current subscription boxes or try something new. I have had Glossy for 2 years now, and I am really thinking if it is time to move on. Is there a beauty box that you absolutely love? Share in the comments below and help me make my decision for next year!

I was disappointed as well, especially with the Lycopene cream. It is a nice product, but is clearly labeled “sample, not for sale” meaning it is free to everyone yet I am paying with my subscription. Seemed a bit sneaky to me. I was also disappointed with the eyeshadow pencil. It has great staying power, but is such a bleh shade that it really doesn’t show up on my skin. I think I will be unsubbing after the December box – am hoping that one is a real wow that makes me change my mind.
