Grove Collaborative Subscription Box Review By Heat + Coupon – May 2017

Box: Grove Collaborative (this link gives you $10 and me $10 when you sign up)!

Contents: Curated and/or self-selected eco-friendly products such as Cleaning, Laundry, Hand and Body, Face and Hair, Kids, Scent Free, Oral Care, etc. to ship when you want it (monthly and/or on demand)! Some of the Brands carried are Seventh Generation, Acure Organics, Method, Mrs. Meyers, Molly’s Suds, and house brand Grove Collaborative.

Cost: Price of your items (usually discounted) plus $2.99 shipping (waived if you are a VIP member see more details below).

Kick Back and Get Comfortable:

I LOVE the service that Grove Collaborative offers. Every item that I received was either a promotional free item or discounted. I will keep a lookout for more promos and let you know! Most of the products that I bought were not found on discount via my beloved Amazon. Because I wanted to avoid passing Target and paying $200, we would buy our cleaning products on Home Depot (which were not discounted at all).

We all know how I want to save money in the comfort of my own home.

I found signing up was easy. Grove Collaborative asks a few questions and then curates a box for you. You can then feel free to delete and add items as you wish.

There is a $2.99 shipping charge BUT if you sign up for VIP status, the shipping fee is waived! So while you are shopping look into the VIP trial because you receive free shipping for two months and then you pay $19.99 for a year. In addition to VIP status, you will receive freebies amounting to five (5!) full size items within a year so $19.99 pays for itself in (1) free shipping, (2) five full size items and (3) the already discounted savings on items purchased!!! And if you forget to add the VIP trial to your order (like I did) the VIP trial option appears after you place your first order. And then if you forget that, I am sure the awesome customer service will take of you!

Once you make an order you can set up to change when you want your next delivery and what products you want for that delivery. Grove Collaborative will send advance email reminders and a text reminder (if you give your cell) when a monthly box is scheduled so you can make any modifications to that order. Also a week after you sign up, you will be able to “purchase now” if you need something now.

Note on Customer Service:

Not only is customer service awesome, make sure you look under the customer service representative’s signature because there might be a link with a coupon to one of their favorite products. You know me and codes and coupons.

I also was recently sent an email blast from Grove Collaborative with some points that they wanted their customers to be aware of and if you are not happy with a product they will compensate you! How awesome is that!?!

An other awesome plus is that if there is a promo for new customers, Grove Collaborative usually also rewards continuing customers with a promo as well!

Codes and/or Coupons for new and continuing customers = A Happy and Loyal Pnut

Price Matching Deets:

I noticed when I was stalk tracking my Grove Co box one of their advertisements  on the tracking page was for the VIP program features. One of the features was “price matching”!

Online Price Matching be still my heart!!!

As always, the weeist of my Pnut people, Squeakette, wants me to get started on the review

so let us indulge our little assistant!

Wait Hold Up Momma!!!

I think you have too much XYZ

and I know I am right!

Let’s see what Heat got in her subscription box haul!!!

Ohhhhhhhh….

Here is a tale from Heat:

I ordered from ePantry one time in mid 2015 with a coupon to see how we liked some Eco-friendly stuff and then deactivated – we had a good experience but I was just trying a lot of different subscriptions with discounts around that time. (That was the year I discovered sub boxes… And changed my life forever!)

Ah… the rabbit holes of subscription boxes that we all know and love.

Heat continues… There are 2 items from this order that I got the first time too:

(1) Mrs. Meyers dishwasher packs in Basil (they work okay from what I recall) and

(2) my most favoritest candle of all time!! Eucalyptus and spearmint scented soy candle – Grove’s own brand – AMAZING!

Pnut: also recommends the Grove Co’s candle quality too (but I only tried out the Blood Orange scent)!

I have also tried Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap in several scents but peony is new for me – it’s okay but I prefer Geranium and my sister loves the Basil.

Pnut: Heat corrected a spelling error from Gardenia to Geranium. Meanwhile, before I checked that part of the email I was like “Shut the front door Mrs. Meyer’s has Gardenia!” Ah well, maybe it will be an LE scent in the future.

And I’ve tried the dish soap in a couple of  scents but lilac is new to me – for greasy dishes, we have to break out the Dawn though.

Pnut: Totally right on Heat, sometimes old blue conventional Dawn is the solution even in 2017.

Both the walnut sponges & scouring pads are inspired by Pnut!

Pnut: My proclamations of Grove Co’s walnut sponges and scouring pads go far and wide!

The Green Forest TP had good reviews.

Pnut: Noted the “Soft on Nature, Soft on You” marketing slogan on the packaging.

The Seventh Generation rinse aid did too.

Pnut: I have not gone down the rinse aid rabbit hole, is this something I should look into? It’s liquid *messy* and I am lazy if it was in a pod form I would totally be down with that.

The Seventh Generation tissues should work for my morning nose blowing as well as makeup corrections but reviews indicate not to use in repeated succession or a sore nose will ensue.

Pnut: This goes with the conventional Dawn but for some reason I cannot find (or the formula changed) of those conventional tissues with the lotion embedded in it.

VERDICT:

Heat approved!

Squeakette Approved!

Pnut people pictures improve all blog posts by a million! Thank you Squeakette.

And I love your comments on my thoughts about the products. 🙂

TP I would get again (even though a little pricy and more like Charmin strong than Charmin soft), tissues NO GO (were you trying to think of Puffs Plus?), and I do find that rinse aid in general helps reduce water spots on my dishes/glasses/utensils.

I would totally vote for an LE Gardenia scent from Mrs Meyers! And I have to reiterate one more time my love for that candle… I love just smelling it every time I walk by even when it’s not lit. <3

      Thanks Heat!
Did you see the special cameo appearance on my Ecocentric Mom box post?
It was probably Puffs Plus. I remembered that the one that was eucalyptus scented was the softest. One day Mrs. Meyers will have gardenia.
OMG I can’t even get another candle right now. I am on month 2 of a Nest 3 month sub. I just got my June shipment today and was dissapointed a little bit. I think the subscription will likely just be the big votive plus 2 little votives. Was hoping for the new travel size diffuser that came out. Next month is my favorite Nest scent and the new diffuser isn’t featured at that scent. But I welcome another votive candle if that is Nest’s thing. I digress, thank you for commenting XOXO

Still waiting to buy a house (Seattle area housing market is ridiculous right now), but this is at the top of my list so I can have Mrs Meyers soaps delivered

Maybe when the fall begins it may be better? Usually prices fall in the fall and winter but then some properties are withdrawn from the market at this time :/ Good luck! I remember the days of stalking MLS-free websites looking at places.
Mrs. Meyers will be waiting, owning or renting for ya 😉
