NStyle Subscription Box Review – August 2017

Subscription Box: NStyle

Cost: $35.00 on auto-renew bi-monthly. This box does ship internationally with a shipping fee.

Note: NStyle’s Website info differs from Nikki’s YouTube Unboxing Video for US shipping apparently she will/has started to charge shipping to all new subscribers (old subscribers are grandfathered for free shipping). From what I see on the sign up screen is that new US subscribers still gets free ship.

Its now or never for free US shipping.

What You’re Getting:

Items that may be in NStyle range from “home décor must-haves, DIY projects, cooking necessities, home organization inspiration, and lifestyle picks.”

NStyle was created by YouTuber “At Home With Nikki”. If you happen to stalk me to the best of your ability you would see in my Subscriptionista profile that I love to watch YouTube organizational videos. It so happens that “At Home With Nikki” was one of them and I was beyond excited to see that she now curates her own box!

Nikki believes “that there should be more to a subscription box than just the wonderful items inside.” Nikki wants to give her peeps an experience that starts from the presentation of the box, the excitement of opening the box, and the enjoyment of using the items from the box.

Kick Back and Get Comfortable:

First, who is sending this to me? GoSend Returns apparently.

Definitely not Nikki who hails from SC. FYI her location is on her website profile I am not one of those googler stalkers like my husband. I did not google him when I met him and found out his name. I digress. I am pretty sure she does not know this little detail and will do something to modify it if she becomes aware.

Second, the box!

Nikki does this right by having a gorgeous sturdy box for enjoyment/hoarding/storage.

Nikki also uses a Caldrea fragrance to scent her boxes. This month is Rosewater Driftwood. See my Caldrea fragrance reviews here!

Ahhh if only Grove Co had this fragrance. I only have almost all of Caldrea’s that Grove sells. Obsessed.

NStyle

Nikki also has her inserts in an envelope.

Nikki respects those that do not want to be spoiled.

But here I am spoiling you.

I spoil my readers.

NStyle Customized Bag

“My Organized Mess” Bag Customized By Nikki

This is made of nice quality Jute and Canvas on the outside but cheap lining on the inside. It is also a promotional item priced roughly at $5.51 for 100 units and the price per unit goes lower when higher quantities are purchased.

I love my pouches and this is a nice cute one that screams the truth.

Truth.

Wasserstein Aromatherapy Essential Oils Set

Wasserstein Aromatherapy Essential Oils Set

Whoa. I have every scent in this set except lemongrass. This is a set of six (6) 10ML bottles of lavender, tea tree, orange, lemongrass, peppermint, and eucalyptus.

Side Digression: I actually bought another diffuser from the Nordies Anniversary Sale but then it oversold. Now I am mourning the diffuser I never had. This might put me over the edge of buying another diffuser.

Why does it take months for me to look at Amazon with diffusers before I actually pull the trigger? And it takes me seconds for an awesome subscription box.

OZ. Glass Bottle Outlet Amber Boston Round With Black Trigger

8 OZ. Glass Bottle Outlet Amber Boston Round With Black Trigger

This is another bulk quantity product that appears to to fail the inspection review. I sent a message to the NStyle via their website and hopefully they will resend the matching nozzle.

Update: Customer Service got back real fast. I am to either stuff the nozzle in (who does this with this amount of tube?) or cut the tube. I think this is cost effective code for “Make It Work”. I forgive Nikki I know its a tough world of sub boxes competiting with the big boxes out there!

Anywhoooo, I needed this but had not got around to it. If you watch too many YouTube channels (and I guess Pinterest), one will eventually desires one of these for essential oil alchemies. I think mine has tea tree oil written all over it.

My Pinterest semi-worthy Amber bottle dream came true.

Shireen Artisan Gold Bittersweet Hair Tie Bracelet

Shireen Artisan Gold Bittersweet Hair Tie Bracelet

This is something that I did not need in my life but I have seen this in a subscription box and needed it to be in one of the ones that I bought. The actual hairpiece looks like one of my Goody hairbands so that is sweet (i.e., it is easily interchangeable).

Another piece of my life fulfilled by subscription boxes.

Here it is modeled with other subscription box bracelets.

This will get gifted to someone who participates in one of those cookie exchanges.

This does kinda makes me want to be part of those cookie exchanges where I will write lovingly and legibly the “Nestle Toulouse” recipe. And provide fresh cookies made from a cookie dough tube.

Here is the backside for your viewing pleasure…

NStyle August 2017

VERDICT:

I really like Nikki’s second box better than her inaugural box. If you watch Nikki you know that she has great taste and aims for items that look wonderful but using a budget that is easy on the eyes (via stores like Marshalls). But I really hope this subscription does not turn into another Clearance “Marshalls/HomeGoods/TJMaxx Curated Box”. I know a good amount of money was put into the inserts and that money should really go into more quantity and quality of products in the box. I would like to see more value in this box rather than nice inserts that go in the trash.

The bracelet pays for the box as it retails at $35. The rest of the items were really nice but I am not blown away yet. I say yet because I know Nikki has that great potential and ability so I am staying subscribed. I hope that fall gives the experience of an elegant candle. And hopefully the holidays will give us an experience of hot chocolate being served by her during the holidays. I could not find that video but it looked awesome each guest had decadent goodies in their hot chocolate mug (sans a cardboard coaster).

Her hosting videos will make you drool and wish you were a frequent guest at her home parties! Nikki is truly the Martha Stewart of YouTube!

Is there a YouTuber that you would love to see a subscription box from?

Dang, now I have to hunt down one of those bracelets. Or 5, because my daughter, granddaughters have no problem seeing an item they love in my room. Then they ask with longing and a big (fake, the kind used when you want something) hug if they can “borrow” it. I never get the item back. Kinda like my Tupperware. We buy cheap stuff just for kids to take and we hide the Tupperware waaaay in the back of our tallest cabinet.
Anyway, great review. I just found a new sub too! It’s called Quip. For 40 (or 50?) dollars per year, I got the coolest metal oscillating toothbrush. Every three months, they send new battery and head. It came with cool cover and it sticks to my mirror, far away from those germy flushing things. Now, I’m off to look for hairband bracelets.

My Squeakers totally are doing this too I have no lipbalms. And I totally get what you are saying that they always take our stuff but we actually love it when the do it for the most part!
Quip looks amazing and very smart (just like you)! I am pondering a customized hair color subscription outside of receiving a box color on Amazon every 3 months. I usually cancel the subscription and order a different color. I digress. Thank you for commemting 🙂

Thanks for enabling me Pnut! Now I’m watching organizational videos. I foresee I change in my future. And I JUST finished organizing all my sub stuff Look at my Instagram (Susie_Adair) and I just added about 6 pics of my finished project. Or so I thought…..

Oh WOW! Now I am inspired to use my PopSugar LE boxes like you did! I am also glad you posted because it reminded me that there is a 20% code off those bracelets (sans the charity ones). Code is WITHNIKKI and I do not see an expire date.

I like the NSTYLE box and have been considering getting a sub with them. I like most of the stuff in the box. Tho the nozzle issue I would have found irksome.
I’m inept at organization. What are some of the good organizing YouTube’s?

    • August 27, 2017 at 9:22 pm

I would start with the goddess of organization, OOT, OCD by Home Organization by Alexandra TV. I am sure she starts twitching if something is out of place but watching her videos gives some good ideas but a ton of it is really hard-core organization I would never achieve. She uses stuff from all over for organization.
At Home With Nikki mostly uses Marshalls/TJMaxx like items for organization.
Clutterbug and DoItOnADime mostly use Dollar Tree and like items. They must go the the dollar store allot because everytime I go there I cannot find the awesome stuff they get.
Disclaimer: I am a wannabe organizer *sighs* The apples does not fall far from the tree which basically means that my husband lives with squirrels that cannot find what they squirreled away.

Thanks for commenting Asheli! I am loving the essential oils set the most. Looking forward to the next box!

I hope the Nestle Toulouse comment was a Phoebe from Friends reference I rarely watched that show, but remember her family’s “secret” cookie recipe.

    • November 11, 2017 at 11:21 pm

Yes it is! I rarely watched Friends. Actually for some reason, I like watching the popular shows when they start winding down versus at their peak (i.e., Seinfeld, Everyone Loves Raymond, Breaking Bad).
