Box: The Detox Box from The Detox Market

Cost: $49.95/monthly or $44.95/3month or $39.95/6month. Ships for free!

Note: Black Friday has past (I could not complete this review until now) but keep on your radar as this was the best offer Detox Box had listed so far!

If you spend $100 you get $10 off a 3 month subscription and $30 off a 6 month subscription with a free Odacite Wild Carrot Serum valued at $55.

What You’re Getting:

At least $90 worth of green goodness beauty.

I recommend purchasing a monthly box when full spoilers are out. See brands here for possibilities.

This month is Josh Rosebrook, an And The Color Green Favorite (AKA our Subista sista Mailbox Junkie)!

Relax and Sit Back:

The box is sturdy but not giftable/hoardable.

Unless you were gifting the whole box with its contents.

Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator Moisturizing Facial Mist

Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator Moisturizing Facial Mist – Retail Value $32

I have been watching Marie’s And The Color Green YouTube videos’ faithfully (she always posts on Mondays) and she likes to mist her face before masking.  This mist is pretty awesome and I have been using it to prep my skin before slathering it with stuff be it serum or masks. I use other mists to refresh my face and/or mask as this is too expensive and luxe to waste.

I wonder whether I would need to buckle down and repurchase when I run out. I hope that Marie has a more economical solution although it would not have all the goodness that this mist has!

Marie can you come to my rescue?

Josh Rosebrook Advanced Hydration Mask

Josh Rosebrook Advanced Hydration Mask – Retail Value $65

I needed a sleeping mask and this fits the bill (crunchy and lasts a long time). Its cold here and I usually wake up feeling very dry because of the dry air. Then I go outside where it is biting cold.

So I spray my face with the above mist and put a thin layer of this mask and try to goto sleep. My face is literally glowing the next day.

I would not suggest his recommendation of wasting product by slathering it on your face and wiping off the excess. That would be a waste I was being a little dramatic but you get it. Whatever you do, if you wipe make sure that wipe is dry and not wet. I am not geeky enough to explain the mechanics. Or just treat like an essence after the mask and use excess on dry spots.

I am not sold on the scent. Its not bad but its not good. I am not sure what it is. At least it goes away.

Its not a huffable product.

Here is my reveal.

This is me trying to pry open that silver foil.

I ending up piecing the foil, hence that little dot.

The Detox Box Subscription Review – November 2017

So. $49.95 got me $97 worth of Josh Rosebrook goodies. Josh is an indie brand and I would have not known about him had it not been for Marie. I needed a good prepping spray and was on the market for a sleeping mask. Again I would suggest you buy a Detox Box if you love the full spoilers so you know what you are getting. For example, I would be pissed if one of my pre-paid boxes was haircare and Josh is known for his haircare first. I know that I will likely be getting the Birchbox despised brand Coola if that brand comes around in Detox box.

I LOVE the Hydrating Accelerator, but I too hate to drop so much cash on it, so I am always looking for a cheaper alternative. I may try The Honest Beauty next because it is cheap AND you can get it at Target! I also use spray while doing other masks to keep them from drying. I read (or heard) maybe even from Marie, that a mask only works until it is dry. I don’t think I ever NEED everything in any box, but I have received boxes where I used and loved everything in it.

I put this mask in a different category because it doesn’t contain clay. It really is more like a leave on product/moisturizer. Did you get this box?!

I got 2 Josh Rosebrook items from Beauty Heroes earlier this year – the nutrient day cream with SPF which I really like & a little pot of vital balm which I don’t care for the smell of so try to just use on neck & décolletage.

As Dayle said, I’m not sure I ever NEED most of the items in sub boxes, but I do love some & use them often. I’m currently trying to remind myself that I don’t need the December Clean Beauty Box by Art of Organics even though the value is so good.

That vital pot is supposed to be golden. Like there were major waitlists for it!
      Marie loves that daycream!

Try the vital balm on your legs or feet so you won’t smell it? That stuff is amazing! I use it on dry patches or my knuckles which tend to get dry and rough this time of year.

So I can not believe I missed the Black Friday sale! doh!!

Detox Box did a horrible job of not marketing that deal … or did they (i.e., maybe they really want everyone to pay full price so it was top secret)? I found out by checking their website whilst blogging for this review. Hopefully they will have something next Black Friday for you it looks like one of those once a year deal sub boxes 😉
