Allure Beauty Box – December 2017

Since the Becca compact popped out of its protective bubble packaging (as if to say “me first!”), let us start the review with Becca!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop

Oh how I love Becca let me count the ways. What I do not like is the full size packaging which is similar to NARS. I have no clue what I do but I just dislike that stickiness that the rubber packaging gets in the summer and no Pinterest trick seems to get rid of the stickiness.

So I guess I will just resort to loving Becca’s sample size packaging 😉

Here is a close of up smudging the Becca Champagne Pop swatch a bit.

Dior Diorshow Mascara

Dior Diorshow Mascara

If I had unlimited funds and not have crunchy guilt, this would be my mascara of choice. What I love most about Dior Diorshow Mascara is that they actually use the full size brush head in their samples! The juice is only 50% of knowing if you will love the product!

Brush heads are half of the knowing if you want to purchase a mascara.

Morphe M433 Brush – Pro Firm Blending Fluff

Morphe M433 Brush – Pro Firm Blending Fluff

How is it that a goat hair brush is $6!?! I am very happy with this brush. I am starting to dig into my subscription box brushes. Most of my brushes are MAC and maybe because of age some of them are starting to shed on ma face when I am applying makeup. My Trish McEvoys are doing well but they are so expensive (but oh so soft). So right now I am trying out what I have stashed to see whether I should upgrade.

Got any softy makeup brush feedback?

I find it funny that you could either tear the packaging open from the the perforated sides or you can just open the ziplock and pop out the brush.

Why can’t kids toy packaging be that easy?

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

An expensive Hourglass sample in a subscription box? CHECK on yes please!

I opened the product and you can see the funny spatula applicator in the group loot verdict photo below.

Oribe Matte Waves Texture Lotion

On the other hand, an expensive Oribe sample in a subscription box? Better than a cheapo haircare sample in one!

I am not really a fan of Oribe. It does smell nice. One does not really have to pay full price since this high end brand is always in subscription boxes.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser

Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser

Back when sub boxes were just a fruit of the month club, I would always buy the huge pump bottle of Philosophy Purity in Nordies Anniversary Sale. Purity is great for the face and also for makeup brush cleaning!

We love dual-taskers here!

$20 Bauble Bar Gift Card

Filler. Meh.

I prefer my Bauble Bar subscription box items in physical form.

Allure Beauty Box – December 2017

Verdict:

What I LOVE the most about Allure is that they are previewing spoilers more than one month away! I love spoilers! With that said, I am staying on for January then unsubbing since February and March boxes do not appeal to me.

Happy Holidays! Great box from Allure!

I completely agree about the importance of mascara wands. And I’ve never had expensive makeup brushes… but I’m happy with Real Techniques and Sigma. I hate when other brushes shed! Grrr.

Happy Holidays! You loving your Sigmas? I need to dig mine out. I don’t think I have Real Techniques from my sub box stash though but will look outfor them if they pop up in any next year!

I do love my Sigmas! I just have a few – different eye shadow brushes – they work well and they feel like good quality. I think I bought most of the Real Techniques myself from Kohls or Walgreens… So good for affordable brushes.
