Little Lace Box Review – March 2015

I am SO late writing this review but given I paid for this subscription and it is my very own cobbled together website I won’t beat myself up too badly about it.

 

Here are some excuses I thought about giving you:

-My spa day turned into a spa few weeks

-Goats from the Evil Goat Syndicate thought that I knew too much and so I was put into hiding by the Llama Spy Agency

-I only have now finished that really long email from Little Lace Box detailing the changes to the price, point system and box deliveries.

 

Speaking of which there are some changes and I strangely have no big opinion on them. Which is weird given I have opinions on things I don’t even fully understand. I am a yearly subscriber and for once proud to be one. Goodness knows I have made way worse choices in life! The move from a monthly box to every other month doesn’t really make me upset. I have grown to love Little Lace Box for its unconventional ways. They offered annual subscribers their money back should they be the cut off their noses to spite their faces types who, upon finding out they would have to wait every other month for all their boxes to arrive, cursed at the indifferent moon that they would choose NO boxes.

The much loved point system is out the window and while that makes me a little sad it isn’t the end all be all as long as they keep the stuff that comes in the boxes awesome. I was bummed out before when they changed the point system and I sent them an angry email about it like the jerk that I am. They told me they had to change it back then because people were reviewing stuff they didn’t even buy on the website. It blew my mind that there were people who thought that they deserved points for reviewing products that they probably didn’t even buy. They are “rewards” points, not “everyone just screw us over so you can get free stuff” points. Anyway, the new website platform won’t support points for reviews.

I am excited about the March box, but let us take a look into the past!

 

Kate Spade – Water Bottle: I wish I had received the gold colored one but I also wish this had come filled with Sofia Champagne. So I sorta wish a lot of things now don’t I? My pink bottle cover will at least be easy to spot! It has a little Kate Spade emblem that might impress those who care to look. What I found hilarious was that it has actual directions on it “Just add water.” Oh Kate Spade, I am not living life if I don’t fill this with wine at least once… or twice… a week. Ammirite?

My Value: Now if someone shows off their Kate Spade bag I can whip this out and declare , “nice, but you can’t drink from a purse!” 

 

 

 

 

Urban Spa – The All Natural Sea Sponge: This dragged me down a well that was formed from guilt and disgust. When I opened this I realized just how long I have been using my tired old bath poof. Too long. I really had to face facts and embrace change! The sponges are sustainably harvested in the Bahamas so this bath friend is a slice of vacation. If only I didn’t spend all my cash on boxes!

My Value: I no longer wonder how it feels to bathe like The Little Mermaid!

Canvas Print: I think it is great to offer this as an item because it truly is customizable. All subscribers have to do it take a reasonably good quality photo, make it a square, input the code that was emailed, and they get a print! My head is spinning on what I should get. It actually makes me feel a little anxious, isn’t that weird? I will figure out something and I will be sure to post it.

My Ideas:

-Picture of my cat looking adorable because I am a Crazy Cat Lady Feline Enthusiast.

-All the things I have received in boxes so when people ask why I am so broke I can just point to it.

-My poultry pal Camilla playing poker with her avian friends.

-Me wearing every single scarf I have been sent in the last three months.

 

My Value: My place will no longer look like the inside of a mental ward, it will just sound like one!

 

 

 

Oliva – Shampoo and Conditioner: These items fit the theme of the box. I just have so much shampoo and conditioner! It is the way of the box junkie I suppose. This does look really luxe and I’m excited it is from Sicily. It blows my mind that just with this box I can wash my hair with Italy and suds with the Bahamas. Now I need one of those map shower curtains to keep it all straight.

My Value: The olive oil in these will give me true angel hair! 

 

In all I liked this box more and more each day. The items are useful and thoughtful. I would be hard pressed to name a box I liked better last month. I know that there has been some rumblings about the last couple boxes. I totally respect everyone’s opinion, however I am very pleased with the usefulness of these items. Getting as many boxes as I do can somehow send me into an anxious tailspin when items pile up. These items will not.
