ModCloth Stylish Surprise Shoes Review 2 – April 2015

ModCloth is a website that has all sorts of interesting clothing available for purchase from different brands as well as their own.  From time to time ModCloth run a “Stylish Surprise” where you basically buy items at a discounted price and are surprised as to what they will actually be. From shoes, accessories, to apartment items and apparel, many rush to stock up on what they think will be a good deal. I bought into the hype so you don’t have to!

You can click here to read my other ModCloth reviews!

This is my second review of shoes. They were $10 and I decided why not go a little crazy? It turned out that I ended up getting a TON of boots. I wear boots a lot during the winter, but these were mostly flat and for work I need a heel.

Shall we take a looksie?

Chase & Chloe – Pacific 11 Boot in Black: This was cute if not basic. I have a pair like this already and these did not blow me away quality wise. These are something you could probably pick up at Ross or maybe even Forever 21. They are not awful. These will be going into my Goodwill pile if only for the fact that I think think it is a pair of shoes that someone could use with little problem.

Wear with all black to be a ninja, or just look like one!

Bamboo – Soldier Boot Brown: I liked these but they were a bit snug on my big toe. This is scary to me because I already have large feet and now I am worried my feet are still growing. Can this be happening to me? I have to fight ditching this review to Google this for a few hours and become increasingly anxious that my feet will outgrow every thing I own. Seriously, I think my feet are growing because of some bad karma I earned at some point.

Another pair for the Goodwill Pile. Again these are usable and someone could make these work.

The only pair of shoes I have owned that have sent me into a Google tailspin of worry.

Chase & Chloe – Pacific 5 CognacI am on the fence about this color because I am not great at putting outfits together. I take comfort in the fact that at least I know that about myself and do not have grand notions. I think I would be able to make these work better if they had a heel. Still, this will be a great shoe to throw into my donation pile!

Finally a cognac shoe to match my box wine cognac lifestyle!

Bamboo – Montana 23 Black: Very cute but I hate that they fold over. It is probably supposed to go over the knee but it hits mine in a weird place because I am pretty tall. Still the construction of these were pretty good. I am glad that it has some give in the calf area as not everyone has legs like a new born baby dear.

Go from urban swashbuckler to sexy flatfoot with just a fold over!

ModCloth  did a better job value wise with the shoes though it is VERY weird that they do not carry EITHER of the brands featured in this review. Why is that do you think? I also found it disappointing to get so many pairs of boots. I have read other reviews where people got different things but that is the risk I took when I put my order in. Still SHADY that they don’t carry these brands.

another one I am glad I did not do. Those boots have the weirdest heel, I am used to seeing some bit of heel on them. Those just look weird. Not impressed

I like the soldier boot. But don’t worry about your feet, some shoes fit small and some large. But beware that you may go up 1/2 a size on shoes after you have a baby. For me it was a blessing in disguise, it’s easier to find size 8 shoes than 7 1/2.

I just feel like if my feet get any bigger I will not know what to do with myself. I should ask my sister if her feet grew after she had her baby. I feel like sideshow Bob already!

My feet grew after pregnancy. Why a heel at work? It does look strange wihout a heel.

I work at a job where I have to look all business like and non heels don’t lend themselves to that look unless I’m wearing a suit with pants which is more rare now that I work in SoCal. If I could wear work out pants to work I would lol

That makes sense LOL. I don’t know what I was thinking. My last office job was casual unless there were clients in the office. The owner did not care what we wore. Now I am in the farming industry.

If I were in the farming industry I would make it my passion to sneak in funny farming prints. I could just imagine trying to find a dress shirt with tiny little hens on them.
